Is firewire dying a slow death? What happened to apple's new supadupa fast firewire tech? I don't hold out much hope for apples mini display port 'technology' either.

slower processors make dylan very angry!!!

i would rather get a blackbook for the same price as the new low end alum. macbooks

2.4 GHz > 2.0 GHz
250 GB HD > 160 GB HD

they are pretty, but i want faster processors, not just faster graphics

:(:apple::(

clearance section $1299 blackbook $1249 24 whitebook refirb $1099 blackbook $1049 2.4 whitebook

Our economy is dying faster than the US.

£1 was about $2 last time they refreshed, but it's $1.75 now.

Interestingly, they seem to have absorbed the cost on the other lines pretty much, but I guess with that being the cheapest model they couldn't do so any further.

..... would be my answer if it was originally £699. But wasn't it £799 anyway, and so yes... cheaper than before?

I thought it was £699 for the cheapest model. My bad if it wasn't - and hooray if it is in fact cheaper. Still, I feel stung when I buy anything in the UK. :)

Does anyone know where to go to chat with an apple assistant or do I have to have applecare? I seriously can't find it.

Not a Blackberry!

does tim cook have a blackberry on his side and not an iphone?

It was a wireless microphone transmitter. As much as possible you cannot bring a cellphone on a keynote presentation coz it could cause some interference, except when necessary for demo purposes. If you notice Steve's recent keynote demo on iPhone he leaves it on the table.

When will the new macbooks actually arrive in stores?

I called an Apple Store here in Phoenix today and they said sometime next week. I highly doubt this is the case. Does anyone have a better answer?

Download link?

Anyone have a download link for the keynote video? Streaming is way slow for me:(

song info

anybody know the name of the very first song that appears in the macbook video, it would be great if somebody could put me onto that.:D

I definitely would get applecare minimum of 3 years.

I've had 5 notebooks so far from personal ones to company provided.
And always had problems between year 2 through 5.
Problems from hard drive going bad, to battery failure and hinge failing on the lid. I even had the trackpad go bad.

So, yes, definitely get applecare. THe cost is worth it.

Color will probably come in 2009

I heard one of the Apple guys in the video say how the move to the unibody aluminum allows them some 'interesting options with respect to finish.' I take that to mean color, eventually. Color anodized aluminum is pretty common on all sorts of things, and it's not that big of a leap to do it here.

Man that was LAME!
Who cares how it's made? Some engineer possibly.
The glossy screen blow chunks. End of story.
I will be holding on to my Cinema display for a VERY long time.
Anybody kow how to change bulbs? ;)

Thank you, Apple, for giving us an older Sony Vaio at a higher price. :) Bonus for no firewire unless you're willing to pony up the money for a Pro model. Good stuff all around, Apple.

The cinema display is mega overpriced, especially with Apple's track record with screens. Also, having magsafe and all is cool, but what would posses apple to design the new connector and roll out a screen with that abomination of 3 connectors? I'm surprised they didn't find a way to route power and usb through the display connector as well.

How about the iPhone push notification service? Do we have to wait 'till Mac World '09? I need a 32GB iPhone too.

What are you talking about. They're completely different.
