is technet.microsoft.com same as msdn.microsoft.com

i have msdn access where i could download OEM for vista, 7, office 2010, and other microsoft softwares for free.

once it is available in the site i will download it.

Technet is geared toward administrators, while MSDN is geared toward developers. So they are not the same.

I have only seen Virtual PC for Mac available on either one. I doubt we'll see this on either one, but would love to be proven wrong.

Bugger,

Just realised that I won't get outlook in my free upgrade. Strange as they include Entourage in my original purchase.

Guess I won't be moving to outlook anytime soon.

Does it support the statistics package?

That's really the decider for me. I need the statistics and analytics components supported otherwise I'm stuck with either Office 2004 (which is just sad) or I have to pop out to Windows.

Anyone know if the statistics package works? It was supposedly removed because of a lack of VBA in the last release of Office on the Mac, but its not clear whether or not its there.

I wish everyone would do away with "suites" and just offer the single apps for sale...why the fear, be like the music industry selling individual songs...here's to hoping the Mac app store will offer this, at least for the Apple apps :)

The HUP I'm referring to allows me to install on up to three machines and I can and have bought a Windows and a Mac version previously. This is for Government employees.

You might want to check whether that's changed - the previous educational release also allowed installation onto three machines. However this new license is pretty clear about it being for one user only.

Pin Woes

Anybody else get home and not have their software activated? i am actually back at best buy trying to figure it out. what a pain. MS, at it again. They suck. even Xbox is getting old.

Yes. BestBuy won't sell Office for Mac currently b/c they can't seem to get the in-store check out activations to work.

Wait a minute...Microsoft doesn't charge $500 for Word, for one computer, anymore?

Where have I been? (Using iWork for 5 years, thats where)

Office for Mac 2011

Kudos to MS for making these apps, even though they remind me of Windows more than the Mac experience within OS-X. The downside is that Outlook is fairly limited and does not allow for syncing of iCal events and contacts... so I've reverted back to Mac Mail and hid Outlook.

Pity that your punctuation is completely wrong in that little tirade.

"when people over, and incorrectly"

So this means Messenger for Mac 8 is finally out! ;-)

Yeah, got it last night, still no offline messages, no nudges, no signing in at 2 locations etc., but the video chatting is much more stable now, and that was on the top of my list, but the other features would be nice

In Bangkok,Thailand iStudio put on the shelf and sell on 25 October 2010.
So Microsoft is careless than Apple.

Woohoo... I just ordered it from Amazon since it is about $30 cheaper than at the Apple store.

I can't wait to install it. :)

Exchange 2003

I cannot upgrade to the new outlook because my company still uses Exchange 2003. Can someone suggest a workaround? For example, can i keep using Entourage from Office 2008 and upgrade everything else to Office 2011? Or is it better not to upgrade anything at all? Thanks.

Is there really a reason to upgrade from 2008?

Do you want better feature parity and compatibility with the Windows version? Do you loath the Inspector windows that prevail in 2008? Supposedly, it's also faster, and Outlook:mac works slightly better than Entourage, although I'm really suspicious.

You can also read the previous 6 pages, reviews, and MS PR material to help yourself make a decision. :D
