real world tests on rev b imacs i believe showed you didn't lose much performance from un-matched chips. can't find the url just now
 
a tracked package

Dang, guys. I went through this nightmare a year ago for my powerbook (my first ever Mac). It took forever, and I hated every minute of it. Especially checking the tracking number every two hours.

There's an old saying that a watched pot never boils. I think a tracked package never gets delivered.

I'd say forget about it, it'll get there when it gets there. But then I know how weak I am. I'd do the same thing all over.

Hehe..

Mine is being delivered to the office where I won't be tomorrow, so that actually works out pretty well...that way I won't be going down there every 20 minutes to look, and I can just pick it up on the way home. :)

If I recall correctly from back when I had a regular standalone iSight, yes, you can.

Yes, I have been seeing the exact same thing. It also now says estimated delivery: January 26

I did the same thing and it worked fine. A button appeared over the video "Record from Isight".
 
On a positive note ...

Just so that you guys don't dispair:

I got my new iMac Core Duo ahead of schedule today, sort of!
Ordered on 1-10, supposed to ship on 1-18, shipping delayed until 1-21, delivery scheduled for 1-27, delivered TODAY (no upgraded shipping, Shanghai->Philippines->Alaska->Indiana->Ohio)!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for all the people still waiting for their machines!

Now that my iMac has been delivered, and that I'm very satisfied with the Performance even with Rosetta.

After bugging FedEx for the past few days, I can go back to bugging Apple until they ship my MacBook Pro. :) I love the weeks and months following a big keynote. Hopefully no delays will occur with the MacBooks!
 
Shipping from F/G Distribution Center, Elk Grove, Ca 95758?

Hello,

I ordered my iMac on Friday night and received a message saying it shipped on the 23rd. After reading the 17 pages of this forum I couldn't find anyone who mentioned it coming from California, just China.

So far FedEx site says "Package data transmitted to FedEx" and "Ship date January 25th 2006".

No other details. Just wondering if anyone else noticed the California address in their confirmation email?

PS, It's only six weeks since I bought my first Apple (one of the 1.5GHz mini's). I've become addicted. Bought another mini for my parents (who also love it) and will be getting another for mother in law. iChat is awesome!

My Dell PC will make a good toy for the kids...

Hi gang on the Sept 22 ship out, it looks like our little ones made it to Alaska! This calls for a small celebration. They are one step closer to finding good homes!
 
Yes!! Mine shipped five days early! It was supposed to leave the 30th and get here the 6th, but now they say they've shipped it the 25th and it'll be here on the 30th! WOO!

I wish mine was in China somewhere delayed... :)

I ordered January 12th. Mine still says shipped by February 17th. (I have no HD upgrade).

Thinking about buying from the German Apple Store. Us scandinavians are not getting ours before end of February it seems.
 
I ordered a 17 inch imac, with only 1 upgrade, to a 1GB stick of ram. You would think this wouldn't be tough to get out wouldn't you?

Well, I ordered January 16th. My expected ship date WAS January 24th. I wasn't happy it was more than a week later, but I guess that's what you get.

SO, I get on today, and my expected ship is MARCH 9! This is completely ridiculous. I am a first time mac owner (or at least was planning on it), and if I wasn't so excited about the new mac, I would forget about the whole thing. But, I'm at least going to cancel my order at the Apple store, and order on Amazon, they are guaranteeing next day delivery for only 30 bucks.

What a screwjob.

I was pretty much in the same boat. Expected Jan 23rd, then they bumped it to March 8th. Cancelled the order, fortunately my school computer store had what i wanted.
 
My girlfriend just ordered a 17" iMac core duo. 1GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Wireless keyboard & mouse, iWork preinstalled, and a black 30 gig 5G. The only bad thing is that its gonna take like 3 weeks for all that stuff to get here.
 
Well, I now have to go through the hell so many of you have gone through already.

My first ever Mac has been shipped - five days earlier than expected!

Oh sweet mother of Lord. I do so hate Apple*. I just got off the phone with Apple. What I forgot to mention to all of you before was that with my iMac (CTO) I also ordered a .Mac retail box. It turns out that they're out of stock of those (yer right, they're shipping in 24hrs apparently from Apple) so they delayed my whole order! Well at least my iMac is now speeding** it's way towards me!

I do hate it the way UK orders are shipped in one big consignment as opposed to several smaller packages like in the US. It means one delay sets your whole order back!

Hmm, strange. I ordered Jan 21st, with 2x1GB RAM installed, expected ship Jan 30th, but it shipped today (25th).
