Don't you mean every few minutes? Hahaplinden said:Well, I now have to go through the hell so many of you have gone through already.
My first ever Mac has been shipped - five days earlier than expected!
I have bookmarked the Fedex tracking site and can suffer with the rest of you updating the page every couple of hours.Code:Jan 25, 2006 5:56 AM Package data transmitted to FedEx
I hope I don't see that on my tracking page...all I need is a bigger delay >_<!maverick808 said:25 Jan 2006 16:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Linehaul Delay Due To Technical Problems

LimeiBook86 said:Ok if you look at the attached image I showed previously here you will see that @ 11:45 was the last action. Now I reloaded the site and a note was added before 11:45...what is FedEx doing going back in time? Or is it now merging the USA time and China's time? This is driving me crazy? I don't know why they added the new note...it says

Well I couldn't of had my machine custom built from Amazon and I couldn't have got my education discount, and I'm sure they are all shipping from the same place. It's not like Amazon has a "secret" bunker full of iMacs that Apple doesn't know about. They are all taking their time to get to their destination, once the orders are done and the item is shipped it's only a matter of time before it comes to you. Some packages (like mine) are just taking the scenic route.ontheuptick said:Maybe you're screwed like I was, until I said screw you apple store, I'm buying at Amazon. Made the purchase today, and my iMac is going to be here TOMORROW. Great stuff.
I guess that means that the package is still in China possibly and FedEx is just messing with me...Marvy said:Same thing happened to my order. After one day of my package waiting in Shanghai, I was informed that my order had actually reached Shanghai two days before. Some dude told me that this is usually due to the IT department entering the tracking information: Different people are responsible for handling incoming and outgoing packages. Therefore an input could be processed later than an output.
Aaaaanyway, I just reloaded my tracking site (for the billionth time), and I'm happy to say that my iMac has reached Arnheim: European ground!!!![]()

Anyway it wouldn't have been good for me to purchase from there anyway, the $150 discount would not have covered my AppleCare (which has an education discount), Additional Video card (which has an education discount), and my pre-installed software (which has an education discount) Amazon would be a good choice if your not adding on things but, for me, it wasn't a choice, I had to go through Apple Online, heck they didn't even let me get a custom one at the Apple storeontheuptick said:That's virtually all incorrect. No, you couldn't have gotten your education discount, but the computer is STILL cheaper at amazon, because you don't have to pay tax (about 100 bucks) and you get a $125 or $150 rebate. My order was about $150 cheaper using Amazon than my apple order, just enough for me to order a 1GB stick of ram.
Also, regarding Amazon's "Hidden Bunkers". I believe you are incorrect as well. What happens is, Amazon will get a shipment from apple for however many they have negotiated with apple, probably a few thousand iMacs. Then, they sell them out of THEIR warehouse. That way, they can control shipping and such. So, once Amazon got ahold of their iMacs, which was sometime early last week, they can control how quickly you get them.

Apple's shipping policy no matter where you are in the world - sucks ass and 'does not make sense' (like the chewbacca defense in SouthPark)
I keep checking every hour but still says :-

I think the airport staff were still a little frazzled from Chinese New Year![]()
LimeiBook86 said:Has anyone else's FedEx tracking number stopped working? Mine appears to no longer work, it says "Not tracked - Sorry, we are unable to process your tracking request. Please retry later, or contact Customer Service."
What am I to do if I can't track my package every 3 minutes?! *panics*![]()
LimeiBook86 said:My tracking number is back online now for some reason.....and yes...it's still in China![]()
Marvy said:Actually, Chinese New Year is on Saturday. As my wife is Chinese we will be celebrating then (hopefully with an iMac providing the music).
In total my iMac appeared to be in Shanghai 3 whole days. I also wonder: Why does it take that long? Heck, I've flown to Shanghai a few times in around 10 hours, and I'm heavier than an iMac... i think![]()
Anyway, I'm pretty sure your iMac will appear on the other side of the world shortly, just like mine did a few hours ago.
Cheers,
Marvy

MacRumorUser said:I mentioned earlier the reason we dont see an update is that FedEx or TNT do not actually handle the journey in Shanghai... It's a different courier company entirly and until it actually meets up with the company listed's HUB in TNT's case Arnheim in the Netherlands, not sure about Fed Ex, the status of our order remains stagnant at Shanghai......
MacRumorUser said:Well..
I was in the audience with my best friend and a couple of other people when a lot of people were getting up and walking to the stage, where Jackie would walk over bend down and shake their hand.

LimeiBook86 said:I'm happy your iMac is closer to you though. Maybe if one starts moving they'll all start moving.![]()
That is one of the funniest things I've read in weeks. Thank you!Antares said:Well, this is true. You have to remember, Mac's are like herd animals....They travel in groups. If one gets going, the others follow behind. If there's a rock in the road or an impassable river, the whole herd will get stuck. To me, this sounds like a herd of iMacs got spooked.
