how long was transit from alaska to wherever you live?

i'm also really interested in trying MCE05 on mine.

does firewire target disk mode still work with the new startup routine?

We're both on the east coast and FedEx is saying January 18... So much for 2-3 days shipping, right? :D

Congrats on the iMac, skunkworks. I guess 17-inchers got shipped later. :(

Well I just checked again and it arrived at the hub in Memphis, TN at 12:58 this afternoon.

No I'm 99% sure it'll be here tomorrow :)

Hopefully yours will be the same Good Luck!

My iMac is tagging along with yours. :) I wish they would tell what the next intended destination is.

Just my experiences with FedEx tells me they like to take their time and that expected time is usually pretty accurate. If it doesn't arrive at my local sorting facility tonight or early tomorrow, I don't think I'll see my iMac tomorrow. Hopefully you're right and I'm wrong. *fingers crossed*

Memphis is there Main Hub. So from there it goes on to the Final Destination.

I've had several things from other Apple Reseller's shipped 2nd day fedex and all have made it here over night from Memphis.

Just checked and mine Departed the FedEx Station in Memphis at 5:46. It's only a 2hr plane ride, so now I'm leaning more and more towards tomorrow :)

I just graduated(DEC. 05) and I have made the same vowels only mine include a car in addition to the 20" Intel iMac.
 
my 17 is in my city now. says 'in transit' so i'm sure it'll be 'out for delivery' and i'll have it before noon.

Mine arrived in Boston Around 10:30 :) Should have it by 10:30 Tomorrow Morning.

Pretty Fast Shipping considering it was picked up on a Saturday in China, and Made it to MA in a Day.
 
Mine should arrive about 1 week from this friday. I will be away won't get to play with it til sunday night though. Ahh well.
 
I just ordered a 20" with 256 VRAM and 2 GB of RAM, from Apple.:eek: I know everyone is probably going to start jumping down my throat for that but I only had to pay $80 for it so I think I made out pretty good. And I think Apple's been getting a little better with their price of RAM.
 
My Apple store is getting them in Tuesday...what do you think the chances are of me getting one if I get there about a half hour after they open?

Geez, I wasn't going to go get mine until later that night. I live in a relatively small town so I didn't expect them to sell out, but maybe I'm underestimating it.

We are fortunate in the MA area to have so many Apple Stores near us.

I think Braintree should be OK, Cambridgeside is usually the more popular one in the area. Not sure about the other 3 though.

Yeah, I guess if I miss one I could drive to one of the many other stores. I'll be able to get to my Apple Store by 4:00 or so, so hopefully that'll be OK.
 
My iMac is being transported to me as we speak. Let's see who gets their iMac first :D

Call them and bug them all day, and ask them to put one aside for you when they get it in.

That's what I did with the Rev. A G5 iMac's and I was able to pick i up around 8:00.

Who ever actually has an iMac now...try installing windows XP SP2!

Or has this been tried yet? I looked around and seems to be all speculation at this point.
