Can't you return online orders to the local Apple Store? If you can you can get a new one tomorrow.

Oh jeez! I'm sorry to see that. :( I'm disappointed that your LCD cracked.

Luckily mine stayed in one piece.

I hope you get a replacement quickly and effortlessly.

Here's my review, as posted on Emuscene's forum:

Overall, the machine runs completely well and smoothly compared to my iMac G4. Everything is responsive. Safari feels like IE on a PC now. It's fast and smooth.

Halo and Rainbow Six surprised me. Looks like games could run decently without being Intel-optimized, although upon checking the Get Info on both apps, Halo does not have a PowerPC or Universal tag in parentheses after its name, but Rainbow Six says "Rainbow Six (PowerPC)." Odd...

Anyhow, graphics-intesive apps seem to be no problem, although Intel-ready apps will probably make these games fly!

Emulators need some Intel-ready binaries. SNES9X and Mupen are my playable emulators. I'll be waiting for updates, RB! :)

H.264 is not supported by the Radeon X1600's hardware just yet. Apple will probably have drivers ready. Until then, H.264 will stay a processor task and intensive.

Love my iMac. :)

If you have any special requests, post away.

those of you who got yours today, what was the date that they projected you'd recieve it? and what route did it take?

I'm sorry to hear that. Mine shipped this morning (way ahead of the predicted ship date) and I'm concerned about the way fedex handles these things.

berkleeboy210, did the box look like it was seriously abused? If it did, then fedex should bear the responsibility as I'm sure apple has some type of insurance for all their deliveries.

yeah that seriously sucks. i'd be miffed. i'm trying to find out why my imac showed up in newark (where i live) and 'departed fedex location' at newark at 4am...but somehow didn't show up this morning.

perhaps this afternoon.

hmm, looks like my apple store isn't getting them until 1pm tomorrow, and I can't get there 'til 4:30, hope I'm okay, I'd really like one of these bad boys.

i'd just say you should call earlyish and try to have them hold one. say 'look...just hold it for half a day, i've spent more on macs than anyone you know'

I thought about asking them to hold one, but boy, I doubt they will the day of product release. Worth a shot though, right?

yeah. i had like 2 posts here from when i was trying to...i dunno, sell my emac maybe?
everytime I buy and sell an Apple this is where I end up, keeping track of what's happening

but yeah, the people at the apple store either don't know/aren't disclosing how many/when the shipment is coming in tomorrow. You'd think I'd be okay for a few hours, I mean these aren't furbys.

Mine are out for delivery, but I had them sent to work. I'm home today because of the holiday. So I have to wait for the driver to attempt a delivery before I can pick it up.

Do any of you have a Griffin Powermate? If so, could you see if it works with the intel mac?
