So both Halo and Rainbow Six you installed were G4 apps? As a percentage of their speed on your previous platform, how would you rate them on the Intel iMac? Lastly, what was your previous processor that you're comparing them to?
(I have a copy of Star Wars Lego that I hope will run OK on an Intel iMac.)
Thanks in advance!
I did try the Star Wars Lego Demo and that ran without a hitch. 🙂
I had Halo and Rainbow Six on my iMac G4 800 MHz with a GeForce4MX. So any computer now is an improvement 😀 But, R6:Raven Shield was claiming to be 20 FPS according to the counter, but I was getting something smoother and steadier than that except in fire fights. My friend's gaming PC with a FX 5700 looked just slightly more fluid, for comparison sake. Halo, small hitches randomly scattered, but otherwise it must have been 30 FPS because it was fluid as it gets. I can wait for a Universal Binary for those games, but it's near-perfect as is for me to be able to play and enjoy those games right now. Turn on Advanced Pixel Shaders for Halo and that is quite a treat for your eyes! 🙂
In the Get Info window for Halo, it does not denote if it's Universal, PowerPC, or Intel for some reason. It appears the Halo app itself is something special.
