It's out but not in Canada!!! That's so stupid! I'll keep using Skype on my my iPhone with Fring. I just don't get this!
can we use the new apple in-ear headphones for ipod touch to make an phone call through ipod touch?
It's simple, Rogers told Apple no, and contractually Apple has to comply.
Yeh that rule is in place for a reason—and it's not because cell phones are dangerous (mythbusters pretty much busted that one).if you pull out a phone and start talking on it during a flight... flight attendant will order you to shut it down

I wonder if jailbreaking has anything to do with the crashes? I've noticed after a few mods the phone has a tendency to be a bit more quirky. I've found the whole process to be a bit overrated really.
Oh and yes skype crashes for me too.
Why are people still surprised that skype and other VOIP solutions are blocked over 3G? I just don't understand. Apple has said from day 1 they will allow VOIP over WiFi and not over the cellular network. With the current model it just doesn't make sense for the carriers to allow it over their data network. I too can't wait for the day I just pay for bandwidth and use it for whatever I want, but that isn't going to be anytime soon. Think about how long it took the music industry to get to DRM free digital downloads. These things take years, which sucks, but that's how it is.

Globeandmail.com said:Rogers, which is the exclusive Canadian carrier for the iPhone, said it would not seek to block its customers from using the service.

Link.Chaim Haas, a public relations representative acting on behalf of Skype, said the application is available in every country in which the iPhone is on sale and in which Apple has an iTunes Store — with the exception of Canada.
Haas said this is because of patent-licence restrictions but would not elaborate except to specify that it is a patent issue related to Skype, not Apple.
Google for Skype-v1.0.1.ipa find the file, drag it into your itunes and add the applications that way.
