Have a fan discount. So I suppose I can subtract 25% of the 130 above.
Forgot I just gave the total roughly.

So it's 97.50 new + the 120 for the devices. Still way more.

Good catch btw forgot about the fan on the new data

If you have next or just out of contract phones its 97.50 + 45 though so it really just depends on your needs.

I have one line.

I pay $89.99 (before 25% Fan discount) for unlimited data, text, 450 minutes (w/rollover). So monthly, after taxes and all those dumb fees, I pay about $75-80 per month depending on how much I spent the month before.

Is there a better plan out there for me or am I good with what I have? Looking online it's all pretty confusing to me.

My parents and my sister are all on AT&T as well, would it make sense for us 4 to join together on one of these mobile shared plans?

I would stay with the plan that you have or join in with your family. It would end up being cheaper monthly joining your family.

All you people loosing your unlimited data plans... how much you are going to regret it.

This. With how many times AT&T has done one thing only to change things a year or two later is what's scary. This deal seems to good to be true. Plus t-Mobile still has an advantage with the streaming of music over 3G and not burning your LTE. And the date that this ends also is somewhat interesting. Right before the holiday season, as if they want to wait for tmo and what they plan on doing for the holidays.

I have the same plan and features with yours, and I decided not to consolidate our lines to a family plan just to keep my unlimited data and also to be able to purchase a subsidized phone every 2 yrs.

Family Plans just shared minutes and texts. Data was on a per line basis. However, I don't think AT&T does Family Plans anymore.

Yeah, my other lines are on prepaid so I was initially thinking on merging them onto a Mobile share value plan but decided not to.

Good choice. Why loose such a valuable plan that is unlimited.

I've got two unlimited plans I've been holding onto. My wife stays at home/wifi 90 percent of the time. I'm the only one using roughly 6-8gb a month streaming music/howard stern at work. But the major drawback is the throttling to the unlimited plans. So after the 5gb is like I'm rocking a 2g connection on my iPhone.

You do realize that the unlimited plans aren't unlimited at full speed, right? They're 5GB at LTE speeds, and then throttled to a very slow speed after that.

I previously commented that I would probably give up my unlimited plans for this, but I'm still going to mull it over. I previously was tempted to go with the 10GB plan, but while getting 30GB or more is great, it will require paying more than I'd like to. Hmm.

In any case, I'm curious to see if Verizon announces anything similar soon.

With the amount of data this allows, and with tethering allowed, do these plans make sense to replace home broadband?

I gave up my unlimited plan years ago and regret nothing.

Go online and check your actual usage.

Anything over 5, they will throttle you anyway, and they will probably reduce that to 3 soon.

Ok att you win. Take my unlimited plan this is a better deal.

I think you're forgetting that AT&T is one of the better companies for letting people keep plans/features after they're no longer offered. Aka unlimited, no matter how you upgrade, old carrier rate plans, old ATT rate plans etc. Even if something does change, ATT will let you keep these plans... Provided you follow the rules of it and do not move off of it willingly.

Not for most people. My home internet connection, I average 500 gigs a month.

As Ghostbuster pointed out, it's $40/line (sorry, my bad), so it'd be $290 plus tax.

So for 4 phones, that breaks down to $72.50/month. If they each shared the 30GB evenly, that'd be 7.5GB per line.

I'm not sure there are even pre-paid plans where you can get 7.5GB/unlimited talk/unlimited text for $72.50/month?

Is that just for the line or does it include device costs too? O2 in the UK have just released 20GB data (including tethering) / unlimited talk / unlimited text for £28 (+ device cost) and I'm sure there are even better deals than that available here (probably from three)

You're in Italy? How much would 30GB + unlimited voice + unlimited texting (includes international) cost over there?

I'm not from Italy (or even the person you were replying to), but elsewhere in Europe where I live no one offers unlimited international texting.

Aside from that, as an example, one GSM plan with unlimited domestic calls and text messages (excluding service numbers that I imagine you would also pay for in the US) with unlimited data at max 100 Mbit/s (where DC HSPA+ or LTE is available) costs 40 euros a month here; less if you sign up for a 12 month contract. That's a bit over 50 USD right now.

The throttling makes them useless. A 40gb pool would let me use a lot more data

Yea, I'm seriously considering this. The tethering option is what really comes in handy. I have a ipad with a prepaid Verizon account just for this reason and I could eliminate this with the 30 or 40 gb option. I've never used up that much data in a month (max 5 when traveling).

I will probably end up switching to AT&T Next instead of doing the standard 2 year upgrade. I mean, 40 GB is a crazy amount of data.

Anyone having a problem upgrading? It won't let me select the new plan, option to add it is grayed out.

ETA: Nevermind, turns out changes can't be made until after I activate my new phone. We'll try back tomorrow. :)
