you will pretty soon. its the 11". i wish there would be some sign of hope that my 13" will arrive before the 24th of SEPTEMBER. gosh, thats FARR lol. no 13's have shipped from amazon yet after this whole kindle thing. which def blows. god knows how many orders are ahead of me for this 256gb one.

The 13" 256gb is likely the least popular of the Air models offered by Amazon (because of price). I doubt there are all that many orders ahead of you.

Man, I guess we'll see which one I get. I just put up my mid 2010 3.2ghz i3 imac up for sale on craigslist. If I can get $1300, I'll prob go for the 256 just not knowing when the 128 will be back. Also, part of me has a hard time wondering if 128 will work for me. I've just upgraded my early 09 mac mini to 1.5tb and 5gb of ram to serve as media hub and backup and timemachine. I figure I need to work on only keeping relevant files that I'm currently using on the mba and archive everything else on the mini. I can still access it if need as long as I got a internet connection. Can't help but think 256 would be nice to have some overhead room, but the 128 will let me pocket a few hundred for an external display... decisions decisions!!!

Can someone explain this to me? It appears that the 13" base is back at Amazon, but it is the same price as the 256gb model... Mistake? Or is this the new price going forward?

for me it still shows that the only available model is the 256gb. There isn't even an option to purchase from a third party seller.

Pulled the trigger on a 13/4/256. Can't wait, hopefully it ships out soon.

Same. Comes out to $1239.99 with the 20% discount which is insane considering it is still cheaper than the entry $1299 model.

I'm wondering if I will get a loss at all when I sell mine a year down the line. Even if it is $50, a small rental fee for a year's use.

Those are third-party sellers, not Amazon. Whatever price they're showing is not relevant; when Amazon has them available they will be at MSRP or less.

Thats just a 3rd party seller jacking up his prices... When Amazon has it back in stock it will be the apple retail price at most, but probably around the discounted 1,234.99 price it has been at this week, then eventually 5 below retail when the sale is over.

For those that are interested (since there's been talk of it in this thread), I just received my 11" 4Gb/128Gb, and it has the Toshiba SSD and the LG display. Lol. Just my luck. But for all intents and purposes, this machine FLIES! So I don't think the "slower" SSD will be a big deal for me. But I can already see the lower viewing angles in the display. I doubt I'll go through the trouble of returning it to Amazon. If the display becomes that big of an issue with me, I'll just take it to my local Apple store.

I noticed that and almost crapped my pants in excitement, but it's for a 3rd party seller, who apparently has jacked up their price... I think, because amazon is sold out of theirs.

Oh God yes. This has become a HUGE problem for Amazon. The Gouging is extreme, and the problem is, they can change the price but the reviews remain the same.

This is bait and switch in a new form. The sellers realize this and swoop in like sharks, while using the Amazon review system (which is great) to their crooked advantage.

Many, many, things are marked up a 500%. Basically, anything that is out of stock at a normal price, as a search on the site will sling you to the marked up price.

Your move.

Agreed. If you look at the base 13" today, which is unavailable for order from Amazon, check out the prices from 3rd party dealers on the right side of the page. $2499 from Flower Electric or $2999 from ebestpurchase. Plus shipping! :)

Not with the coupon savings. I think the coupon is only good for computers shipped and sold by Amazon, and they only sell the standard configs listed on the Apple store (ie no optional upgrades).

Ah, in that case I didn't really miss out :) Thanks

Amazon dropped the price of the 13/4GB/256GB to $1549.99. When I ordered it, the price was $1594. I was able to call them and get the price adjusted, since it's still on backorder. Price after coupon went from $1275.20 to $1239.99.
