13" 256gb is available to order but is in "out of stock" mode. has anybody very recently ordered and received an estimated date? i just cancelled my order from macmall since they said it wouldn't be until sept 30 - can't wait that long. want to go with amazon.. crossing my fingers i can get one by the end of the month if i go with them.

What site are you referring to "SD"? My delivery hasn't moved from August 23-30.
When I first ordered it on the 7th, it had an estimated delivery date of 31 August to 13 Sept (approx). However, they have since changed it to the usual 'We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time.'
Trying to take it up the CS ended up being fruitless to say the least.
Amazon should just make a massive order from Apple...(Mostly) All of their laptops are out of stock!! 
I ordered the 13/256 on the afternoon of the 6th and I'm still seeing Aug 31 - Sept 16 as the estimated delivery date. Not sure if it means anything, but figured I'd provide a data point.
My 11" 4gb/128ssd machine ordered on Monday got to me yesterday. Has Toshiba SSD and Samsung screen

amazon will ship same day for 1-2 day shipping orders if you order before noon-ish PST
I realize that, but I was asking because the laptop he ordered was not in stock all weekend, and I have only heard of people ordering on Friday (8/5) getting their orders so far.

I hope this is just a stock problem, and not an actual change.
I tried applying a valid coupon to an 11" MBA 4/128 and it says "Coupon cannot be applied to this purchase".
I just hope this won't impact those of us who have orders waiting to be fulfilled. I'm assuming no but it is a disturbing development.

I don't think pending orders will change but any new orders won't work. Amazon had it in their Terms & Conditions that they can change it at any time, and they have.
We have a saying on Slickdeals, "you snooze, you lose". Snoozing on this deal and thinking you had until Sept 8th is going to bite a lot of people in the ass. The price of codes on eBay should be dropping like a rock and sellers better adjust their wording to avoid any promise that Apples are included, although the sketchy ones will point out that you can still use it on a 2010 MBA.
