We have a saying on Slickdeals, "you snooze, you lose". Snoozing on this deal and thinking you had until Sept 8th is going to bite a lot of people in the ass. The price of codes on eBay should be dropping like a rock and sellers better adjust their wording to avoid any promise that Apples are included, although the sketchy ones will point out that you can still use it on a 2010 MBA.
man this blows. that's cheap amazon. i know they have the "right" but it seems like a bait and switch. also some punk used my code. on chat w/ cs to figure this out
So, CS wasn't able to help me after having my code stolen by some punk. This is what they told me..
"A member of our marketing team will need to help you with this; however, they don't have chat support. I'll forward your issue to them and you can expect an e-mail response within the next 1-2 business days."
So because this person taking my code, I didn't get my order in. I'm going to be raising hell about that and I'm going to make sure I get the discount on the MBA.
I'm sorry, how is this a bait and switch?
How did you get your code stolen?
How did you get your code stolen?
My guess is he bought a used Kindle? But I am curious to know as well.
Yes, legally their are fine, but in customers eyes... not cool. They start a promotion and a few days in, have to pull the computers everyone is buying, and so many more want to buy, but nope, sorry, we changed the rules.
You can't tell me that they didn't know this would happen, that would be BS. They waited till they got a few days publicity about it then shut down selling macs. So you can only imagine how many ppl bought kindles just for the code and now are stuck with them. Again, don't try to say they didn't know... they're a multi-billion dollar freak'n business, they knew.
So yeah, legally, they're within their rights. Honestly, this has made me not want to order any high ticket items from them. Sure i'll stick w/ their books, but that's it. And yeah, I'm only 1 person, but at least I put my money where my mouth is.
Hmm... thanks for that. Let's see how it goes. I will post when mine gets shipped. Hopefully, it will be the day after yours get shipped.
Why did you wait so long to buy? It's not like it was a one hour special.
Brand spank'n new. Heck, I actually kind of like the thing, but if I can't get a code and use it on a mac, I'm returning it.
Amazon changed the list of laptops eligible, this party is over...
I tried applying a valid coupon to an 11" MBA 4/128 and it says "Coupon cannot be applied to this purchase".
Amazon has updated their list that coupons will work on. No more MBP or MBA.

Looks like the 2010 MBA 13" is the only one available. People who bought coupons on eBay are going to be pissed.

I have a base 13" sitting in my cart with the coupon applied and I'm really hoping it will still go through when I place the order...

If I were you, I'd push that order through & get a confirmation email from them asap!
