wait you received a shipping email this late at night?

did you get a email earlier saying it was going to come the 15th first or na?

I was notified @ 8:45 AM that the ETA was being updated to August 15th, then I received another email at 4:39 PM that the order shipped and that it would be here tomorrow.

Because I'm afraid they'll authorize my card for the full amount, which should cause it to decline. Maybe they only authorize it for a dollar or something?

Also, it may help that the mbp is out of stock, so it may not authorize for the full amount since it cannot yet ship.

I have enough to get the mbp after the 20% discount, but not before.

Yeah you got the same thing. But get that promo applied when the order is made and not after it ships. I don't want it to ship and then they say something like "Oh, we cannot make changes to orders that have already shipped out." or some other bologna.

Exactly. I was told verbally but I made him type this out and email me as proof. But I'm just worried especially knowing this will ship after the promotion officially ends, which is 9/8/2011. I want it applied instantly like everybody else. I may try again tomorrow with a different rep. Really want this taken care of. Didn't even mention what I should do with the code. Should I hold onto it or just use it on another laptop and get a Xbox 360 or PS3 as a gift? Once this is taken care of.
 
I just changed the shipping method on my 11"/4/128 (ordered on the 8th) from standard to 2-day, and it went from not yet shipped to shipping soon in a matter of minutes.
 
I got my ship notification at 11:03pm last night for my 13/256 and it shows it already at the Houston processing center and that it will be delivered by EOD today. Awesome.

Yeah I order a ton from Amazon and it went directly from the UPS hub in Louisville to Houston, which is the routing most of the bigger items I've ordered have taken. I opted for the $3.99 overnight option (Prime member) and Amazon/UPS&Fedex has yet to miss a scheduled delivery date after the product ship in my personal experience.

Ah ok cool deal... Have you been keeping up w the tracking info? If you have are they good about updating where the package is?
 
Ha! I've been black listed from chatting online. My screen just fills up w/ promo stuff when the chat starts then ends after about 10 things of "Check out... blah blah blah". I guess it's what happens when you talk to 15 reps and get pushy on the last 2. Guess no $300 savings for me. Thanks amazon :rolleyes: Wish I was in a lot of your shoes.

That sucks. I am a bit surprised they didn't just cave and give you the discount.
 
Take an additional 5 to 10% off if done correctly. Might possibly work for price matching? Not sure. The model I got the coupon for was a base 11" when i ordered the upgraded 11"

What do you mean, "if done correctly"? Do they randomly lower the price? Do they send you an email telling you they want to take 10% off? How does this work?
