It's really easy to still get the coupon code applied. Just post FSB's script (with your information) to an amazon CSR. Say something like "I got disconnected from chat before the rep applied the discount, here is the transcript". They will read it and transfer you to kindle support and then gladly apply it to your account.
Hmm... mine was ordered on 08/6 @8AM, it still didnt' ship??

I ordered it on 8/8 around noon-ish. The estimated shipping date used to be around Sept. 22nd - Oct. 5th even after it said 'shipping soon' yesterday. Somehow it miraculously shipped today! Ahhh the excitement!

Listen to them if the laptop is not on the "current" list of qualifying products. You will only get yourself heartache buying a code on eBay that you will gave tough time getting a refund for. Just like said above they want to see the kindle that gave you the code registered to your account.
Will UPS leave this at the door? I'll likely still be at work when it comes
Probably not, but if you get home before the distribution center closes, usually you can call them up and pick it up from them so you don't need to wait over the weekend.
I ordered mine on 8/9 so I hope that means mine ships soon !

It's probably too late, but if you'd left a signed note on your door, the driver might have left it there. It's up to the driver: mine has left "signature required" items when I've provided a signed not authorizing him to leave them. As someone else mentioned, if the driver doesn't leave it, you can call UPS and tell them that you'll pick it up after work at the distribution center this evening.

I'm not sure -- the machine I received was built much better than the one I bought and returned to the Apple store.

Perhaps it is saying "Not Yet Shipped" (instead of "Shipping Soon") because your account is under investigation. Your account may be in some sort of "limbo." The "earlier than expected" email may have been automatically generated to people who ordered and who are still waiting, but it could be they are holding back your order until they finally determine what they will do with your account.
I went from "Shipping Soon" to "Shipped" in less than one business day.
Laptop was shipped from their facilities early next morning.

Went "shipping soon" early yesterday (6AM?), shipped 11PM last night, on truck for delivery right now. 1 day shipping, Lexington to Orlando.
