Two days ago, I got an email from Amazon telling me to expect my 13/256 in late Sept or early Oct. Just now received an email saying that it has shipped!
I ordered on 8/8 around 3pm in the afternoon.
 
Looks like a ton of 256s shipped today. Hopefully their supply is high enough to reach or get close to the 8/13 orders. Every day my MB gets worse and worse.
 
UPS said mine was out for delivery then Amazon gave me a scare when I just got this email:

It turns out there was a late plane but my package did make it in time to get on the delivery truck.

(To save any juvenile from wasting their time, the order # and tracking # may not be completely correct)

I received my air - and of course there's an issue. A small scratch and a couple of pits.

I may just have to live with it, I can't take the bs any more.

It's small but the issue is overall the quality control just sucks lately.

For those interested I got the toshiba crave and samsung display. If anything was samsung I would have preferred the hdd.


Awesome there is also chassis flex unlike what I had in the other one.

I went from "Shipping Soon" to "Shipped" in less than one business day.

Laptop was shipped from their facilities early next morning.

Went "shipping soon" early yesterday (6AM?), shipped 11PM last night, on truck for delivery right now. 1 day shipping, Lexington to Orlando.

On wed, my status on my 8/6 order changed to "Shipping Soon". As of now, it still says that. Also, my cc has not been either authorized or charged and. My delivery estimate has not changed (8/31-9/20).
 
My experience with Amazon has always been exceptionally great.

Shipping soon is not something I've seen too often on the many orders I place.

In fact it only happened twice and in both cases, it shipped the next day.

Only reason i was was worried is because my account is under investigation. But good to know.
 
It's really easy to still get the coupon code applied. Just post FSB's script (with your information) to an amazon CSR. Say something like "I got disconnected from chat before the rep applied the discount, here is the transcript". They will read it and transfer you to kindle support and then gladly apply it to your account.

got my 13/256 and have been trying to learn how to use it all day. Lth is samsung right? I got a samsung display and ssd. My only complaint is the poor color gamut of the screen. It looks washed out.

It's funny that you mention that it looks washed out. I had a 2010 MBA that I felt the same way about (I don't know the manufacturer of that sceen).

Fast forward to this week when I received my LG screen'ed MBA. I have no complaints about the color gamut...
 
I'll be returning/exchanging till i get a Samsung SSD and Samsung LCD

hypothetically, let's say someone did about 100 chats with CSR about this order. would they result in a ban?

As I type on my new 13/4/128 MBA, I'd like to thank the OP for pointing out this excellent deal. Thanks also to Amazon for delivering and being mostly patient with us.

As a migrator from the 1st Gen MBA to this latest MBA, I can say that this is definitely a worthwhile upgrade! Woohoo!!! :):):):)

I received shipping confirmation from Amazon last night so it was virtually an overnight delivery even though it was Prime.

I got the worst bunch though:

LG panel
Toshiba SSD....*sigh*

Thinking if I can go to Apple Store to get an exchange. Not sure how I'm gonna pull this one off though =/
 
Replacement for defective

I was just wondering about this. Can you send back for a replacement or just return and lose you promo code?

With Amazon means they send you a new now without charging you for it but will if you do not return the defective one. Getting them to do this takes some persistence but they will do it.

why bother, I'm sure it doesn't make a difference. My samsung screen is nothing to write home about and there is no way your are going to tell the difference between the two ssd's
 
I disagree. Looking at the samsung I got this time I do prefer it colorwise. The SSD is noticeable when dumping memory cards.

That said I'd be fine with this combo if there weren't small imperfections on the lid. I'm deciding if I want to wait more and since I have to pay return shipping if it's worth the bother.
