Hang in there. I'm pretty sure Amazon is not dragging its feet. The MBAir has hit the sweet spot in price and performance and is exceeding demand expectations. No, the last statement is not based on scientific study but on gut feel. I suspect you will get your MBA as soon as physically possible; Amazon has consistently met or exceeded its promises for me and others.
And the wait is worth it! I can describe the current MBA in one word: Awesome! I came from the 1st gen MBA and various notebooks (Mac and PC) and this is the best so far.
To be able to use the Marketplace, you need to be a member for at least 6 months. Then, you need to accumulate at least 250 posts.
I have to stop ordering other stuff from Amazon till this arrives. "Your Amazon order has shipped." "Oooh, it is the MacB... D'oh, no, replacement heads for my Sonicare toothbrush. Sigh..."

128 and just looked and i ordered on 6th. I was in Asia, so my timezones were all messed up. No clue what time.

Hi all-- just ran across this today. talk about being late to the party. I'm hoping someone here can answer this-- if I have a coupon code can I apply it to my cart if the MBA I want is available? I understand the deadline for requesting the coupon was Aug. 8, but the deadline to use it is today. However, I see lots of conflicting posts about people either having to call and sweet talk the CSRs, or being able to just use the coupon normally. Call me confused. Anyone know the answer?

You can't apply it to it unless you can convince the CSR to make an "one time exception." Good luck..
Yes! Mine changed to shipping soon too! Estimated delivery date of 9/12 with one-day shipping. Ordered the base 13 on August 7th, around noon.
Edit: Just moved to 9/9 delivery estimate!

I'm reading MacRumors for years but didn't register in the forums. Thanks to the OP, I ordered a MBA 13/256 on 8/11. After a long wait, I changed the order to a 13/128 on 8/24 as some of the base models shipped. But I had to order again and cancel the old one.
I still don't have a shipping estimate but since they began shipping some base 13, I hope I'll get my MBA soon... Classes already begun this week and I neeeeed it

I am heading over to best buy this weekend to hopefully get a pc, last weekend they had none and were out of stock..school started for me and i need a new laptop i cannot carry my 6 pound dv6 across campus
