Just received my 13/128
I love Amazon, but they can't pack a laptop properly if their lives depended on it.

Mine was in the retail box in a box with 4 corner package holders in another box packed with air bags 3 boxes total.

Mine was too. In fact, I ordered both the 11" and the 13". After careful thought, I sold the 11" and shipped in the same containers. Very handy.

Wow, my order is shipping soon for being placed on 9/11. Exchanges must go ahead of the line, or they're finally catching up on demand.

I just went to the Apple Store. I told them about the problem, and how Amazon was backordered.

They somehow know me there and said 'Oh you're Michael,' and smiled(before I gave them any info at all, so it was genuine.). They not only replaced the machine, but they upgraded me to the i7 for free!!! <3 :apple:

Nice! So in addition to getting it 20% off Amazon's normal $1549 price, you got the i7. That works out to a 27% discount in total. Did they give you a floor model or was it sealed? I'm surprised they didn't charge the $100 differential between Apple's selling price.

Anyway, you now have a working model at a great price.

Same with the 11" i5/128 model that I purchased (ordered 8/8, shipped 8/19). It's the same setup in which Apple ships theirs.

It was in the box, but they took it out, and gave me the computer inside. Also, I didn't have to pay tax, so it's about a 32% savings for me. Great deal!

Ordered mine on 8/10 and its not supposed to get here until Saturday:( Guess that's what I get for saving a few bucks with free shipping.

Ordered 13/256 on 8/11, downgraded to 13/128 on 8/24 (kept discount of course), it arrived Monday 9/12.

Samsung SSD, LG LCD with 3 dead pixels, tried fixer tools and no help. Called Apple, they won't replace the laptop since I bought it from Amazon, but they will replace the screen. Fingers crossed for Samsung w/o dead pixels.

I got a shipping notice yesterday at 6:43 pm to be delivered today by UPS, but there is no tracking info except to say that it's left the seller's facility in Whitestown, IN and is in transit. UPS said that they don't show that tracking number as having been received in their facility, and amazon assures me that it has shipped. Hmmm...

received my machine today at work however i am staring at the box and yet to open it...have classes till 10 pm i guess i have to wait till 11 pm tonight

So annoyed. Got a shipping notice last night with a tracking number, but it never entered UPS's system after the label was generated. Someone at Amazon must have not put it on the truck. (Or stuck it in their own car. :( )

UPS has confirmed they never got a package with that tracking number. Amazon, meanwhile, says "give it until the 15th and if it doesn't show up, we can issue a refund." I don't want a refund, I want my discounted MBA.

:sigh:
