All possibly correct except touch ID under display.
Apple will NEVER use fingerprint scanner in iPhones again.

So... my MBP and iPhone can finally charge and communicate without buying extra cable?
Apple, you are such a genius, but what do you want me to do with all the Type-C to Lightning cables.

So basically this would mean going from USB 2.0 speeds to USB 3.1 speeds, correct? In other words, .5 GBps to 10 GBps "or" 480 MBps to 10 GBps

Apple will NEVER use fingerprint scanner in iPhones again.

Apple will never sell computers with unsoldered ram modules again.

Apple will never use a stylus again.

Apple will never work with Microsoft again.

TouchID coming back has about as much chance as ADB and SCSI coming back to Macs.

FaceID works extremely well for me, and more reliable than TouchID. Not bad for a rush job.
FaceID works well for me as well, but I’ve heard from a few people who still own an older iPhone model and they told me that they don’t want to lose one of their favorite features, TouchID. I think this may be a concession to those people to encourage them to upgrade sooner rather than later.

TouchID is gone and not coming back.
Doubt they do USB-C rather they’ll wait and remove the charge port all together.
Smaller notch. Yes I can see that.

I agree. If they get rid of charging/interface port that will finally push me away from iPhone. I prefer to sync my phone to my computer than using apple icloud (and sync via wifi is super slow). And charging "wirelessly" is too slow for me.

Curious how Apple will explain what they said about Face ID is the future, Apple going backwards would be an interesting move
They wont be ditching it, its the most secure form of authication on the market. If you are referring to the touchid patents, they patient tons of things that do not make it to the final product. It could very well be a business move to counter competitor motives.

As a medical professional who wears a surgical mask, the absence of Touch ID is an absolute no-no.
None of my colleagues have or want an iPhoneX for this absolute reason. We are still with IPhone 8 or moved on to Samsung.

Sorry Apple, for you non medical folks you could care less about the medical professionals, but we are abandoning your product.

Touch ID and Face ID does actually make sense.
There are occasions/situations where TouchID is better suited.
Personally I would be happy with just Touch ID. Under the display would be really cool. The cool factor alone says "buy me!" :D
I agree that Apple would never do away with Face ID as it benefits those people who are unable to use their hands e.g. wearing gloves, hands are dirty, people with certain physical disabilities etc. etc.
Facial recognition applications (not limited to Apple products) are on the rise thus Apple are going to want to keep developing this technology.

Transactions that involve money should require both FaceID and TouchID, with TouchID being a 2FA.

Jean Baptiste Su is probably just a protagonist for TouchID. :p

Looks like some analysts need a quick early year payout.

The only one that is probably true is the smaller notch, which we already see a progression from various rumors last year. The rest are simply made-up stuff that any 12-year-old can do.

There will be a huge revolt and lots of anger if the next iPhone still doesn't go usb-c

Jesus, Lord, please give me back my Touch ID, and if you can find it in your heart, please remove the damn Touch Bar.

If you’ll excuse my French, Jesus.

Instead of wasting billions on R&D maybe Apple should use that money to absorb the cost and cut the price on the iPhone and other products. Let’s be real here, apart from the improvements in biometrics security since 2014 and Face ID which is basically a switch out of Touch ID, there really hasn’t been a must have to justify 10 billion in R&D every year.

I am sure chip designers would disagree. And the people working on Machine Learning within Apple might after that. And the people working on screen technology? I am sure all of them would disagree with you.

Get rid of the notch, put the headphone jack back in and lower the price.
Notch will get smaller and smaller, until necessary components can be placed in display.

Headphone jack is dead and gone. Never coming back. Samsung is the only one sticking to the 3.5, and with them removing it from mid tier devices, it won’t be long before they do it. But hey, at least they’ll be the last to do it.

Price will probably stay around the same as it is now.
