I don't understand how people can need such large storage on a phone. Seriously what amount of crap that you never look at or use are you keeping on there?!
38 gbs of music, 5.8 of pics/vids (granted I prob don't need all of these), 4-5 gbs of apps (could erase a few games I suppose). only have 6.8 gbs left.. with how much music I download, this won't last long. Also, why are people on here so concerned about what people do with their space?? Theres no reason Apple can't add 128 GB to their phones.. it's not like it would be expensive on their end. 128 GB would be perfect, I would never have to worry about running out of space.

Is the CPU speed difference even noticeable?

If you need every single CPU cycle (say, you're playing back a video file only decodeable via the CPU), then, it is. About 7.6% more dropped frames (1400/1300) can already be noticed.

Interesting.

Its funny when people say a 5.5" phone can't fit in their skinny jeans...because my 5.7" Note 3 definitely fits in mines...actually have skinny jeans on now, with my Note 3 in my pocket.

What is everyone going to do when neither of these 'iPhone 6's' come out?

You do realize that Apple has to make millions of these things ahead of their September 19th launch date ...

The iPhone has been around for 7 years . It's not hard to come up with basic conclusions based on previous trends and similar rumors .

UHD/4K display resolution for 5.5 inch model

Another rumored feature is Ultra High Def/4K display on the 5.5 inch version. Small company called Pixelworks released a HD mobile chip recently, released that the former Apple mobile VP has been working with them since 2012, released that Apple paid them $10M last year, etc etc. A few people are connecting the dots as the stock (PXLW) is up a bit. A significant difference when watching video's as it eliminates blur that we are almost accustomed too currently. Would be great if it really was included in the phone or iPad. If anyone knows differently or has additional information, would be interested to hear.

My thoughts on this, and hearing the 100$ premium speculation thrown about with the iPhone 6 is, one or both models will be getting retina+(maybe the 5.5 inch model same res as iPad air/mini?). I see this as happening across all the mac devices. The 15" rMBP had a huge price boost when it obtained its retina screen, and the 13" had a 100$ premium added to it as well if I recall. Apple has done this as well with the iPads adding a 130$ premium for nothing more than cellular radio add on over the wi-fi model. So either the 4.7 will just be the 'logical upgrade' from the iPhone 5S, faster CPU, bigger screen, faster GPU, maybe more RAM with the same storage options of 16/32/64 and the 5.5 inch model will carry the price "premium" for extra features, such as the sapphire glass, OIS, and 128GB storage option and maybe even a stylus if they plan to market it as a phablet as they did register a phablet-esque stylus earlier this year. That or, they both carry the 100$ premium tag and the only difference is literally the screen size and they both gain all the features. Just my 2 cents

I need 128 GB on my phone. My 64 iGB now is packed to bursting.

What I need even more than that: a deep, soul-searching re-evaluation of what I REALLY need to have stored offline on my phone 24/7/365.

(Note to Apple--the final piece of this puzzle: let me delete an app and reinstall it without losing my app data. Prime example: games are huge files! And I hate to lose my progress. Let me store only my favorite few dozen games of the moment, yet let me re-install ANY of my zillion games at will and pick up right where I left off. It's not as though saved-game files will take up that much iCloud space. This would make both iCloud and local backups SO much more useful than the current all-or-nothing-or-weird-hack approach.)

That is a great comment.

The bar has been raised now. Everyone else-- if you can't make a comment at least as good as this one, please don't comment at all. :D

Including me!

And me. My history shows that I will pay premium prices for premium features. But I don't consider a 5.5 inch screen to be a premium feature unless Apple can somehow magically make the phone not much bigger than the current one.

I laugh at people who carry phablets. I do not want to be one of them. A hobbled 4.7" phone will not compel me to ditch my perfectly functioning 5S.

Just curious, I assume from the rumors there will be no iPhone 6 that is 4".

I haven’t looked at all the rumors but is the smaller model estimated to be the same physical size as the iPhone 5/s with just a thinner bezel?

What imaginary world do you live in where "lots of nice 6"+ phones out there already"?

This one. There's the two Lumias from Nokia, 1520 and the cheap 1320. HTC One Max, the Sony Xperia Ultra, Samsung has a few and there are some Chinese players, such as the Huawei Mediapad with it's whopping 7" 1920x1200 display.

A 5.5" will probably be big enough for me still, but it never hurts to have more options available,

Its funny when people say a 5.5" phone can't fit in their skinny jeans...because my 5.7" Note 3 definitely fits in mines...actually have skinny jeans on now, with my Note 3 in my pocket.

That is because these people have never seen a pair of skinny jeans, let alone a 5.5"+ screened phone.

I'm taking this with a grain of salt since we also had rumors of the 5S to have the same higher capacity. But this would definitely be my next purchase if Apple will indeed give us this storage size.

It's about time. Android is enjoying their micro SD cards with 128gb capacity. Bring it, Tim!

I'd love to see Tim bring a micro SD card slot ;)

If this is true, then I'm one of them. Having premium options is one thing, but basing those options on device size makes no sense.

Yeah, I can't wait to hear Apple spin this one--"Everyone wanted a bigger iPhone and we gave it to them!" Too bad it won't be an apples-to-apples comparison, i.e. same features but different sizes (4.0, 4.7, 5.5 inch models). Then we would have a better understanding of real demand. Sometimes I just hate Apple marketing.

Complain, then buy the one that does come out. :)

Doubtful. The more I hear, the less I am inclined to buy an iPhone 6 (4.7"--and certainly not the phablet) despite chugging along on an iPhone 4. If Apple does indeed create a large product disparity this year, then I suspect the gap will either decrease dramatically or disappear altogether the following year after the hype has died down.

Since screen size is a feature, just as CPU speed or amount of RAM, what you are asking for does not make any sense.

Several components are limited by physical size as well, so obviously a bigger phone will have more room available for things such as OIS, more storage chips etc.
