Oh that's fail, why EU first?

Dear God, please let the day come when "fail" is merely an answer to a trivia question in the forgotten fads category.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Watch it be non us like Spotify.

spotify is launching in a few months here in the states

Am I the only one that gets the feeling Apple's going to pull this from the Store in order to "take more time to evaluate it"?

;)

Hmm, it was snappy on my 3G touch running 4.0 but on my iPhone 3G under 3.1.3 it's a little buggy.

The double tap zoom is a bit big so on a vertical screen it goes beyond the edges (fine on horizontal) and the keyboard is a bit laggy.

Wow, I am really, really surprised this was approved. I've just had a 5 minute run around with it, but so far seems very good for a first release. I'll definitely be using this as my main iPhone browser (never thought I'd say that!) for the next few days to see if it's as great as it looks. :D

the awful UI will probably keep me from using it. thats the same reason I don't use firefox on the mac, the UI is awful

Downloaded it. Installed it. Browsed on it. Played with it. Tweeted on it. :D

It's speedy, but it's obviously only 1.0 and has it's odd rendering/ui issues. I look forward to future updates though.

I wonder if this will interest Mozilla to bring Fennec over to the iPhone

you know that alot of the inovations that you use in browsers today, such as tabs, come from Opera right?

Ummm no. As innovative a browser Opera is, BookLink InternetWorks was the first browser to have tabs. 6 years before Opera in fact. (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabbed_document_interface)

I can't wait for it to release on the US store. Its interface looks really cool. Might convince Apple to make a couple of interface changes to Safari on the iPhone. Personally, I never had any doubt that Apple would turn down the Opera Mini browser. It got too much publicity and there was no real loss on Apple's part if people decide to use a different mobile browser.

Plus tapping the clock doesn't scroll to the top (like Safari does; quick access to the address bar).

Edit: Never mind, tapping the red bar does the same thing.

Could someone post a direct link? I can't find it in the app store or on appshopper.

It's only available in the UK I think which means, it might be released stateside around 11 pm if we are lucky. I wish it was an iPad version but I will download anyway.

Is it available in Canada, or are we getting the short stick again when it comes to the app store........

I just downloaded Opera for use on my PC.

Um..........where/how do you add bookmarks?

And, um...I can't get macrumors to load on it at all. All I get is the light blue bar on top. Weird.

oops, I forgot that opera lifted that from them, and then everyone lifted it from them. sorry.

No wonder they allowed it - the UI is POOR.

Sure it's fast, but after using it for my usual browsing sites, it's pretty hard to select the text or images. Their tap and hold method for a 'pop-up' menu is, to put it kindly, extremely inconvenient and unstable. With no magnification-lens for selecting text, it's damn near impossible to highlight what I want.

I do like their search function within the page though. Good start with speed - more improvement needed.
