I think on 17 july

I think it is going to be launched on the 17 July because if you enter on the apple website of lion you clearly see that 3 of the preview pictures of lion the Ical shows 17 Jul

Egg on the face for all those sites claiming LION was coming today. Next week seems more optimal, given the earnings report and the call for submissions this week for Apps.

I'm assuming we'll get an announcement soon for the August press conference for the new iPhone and whatever else Apple has up its sleeve.

I wish I had an Apple store in my town I would go and see what they changed overnight

Exactly...Apple will not release anything until after the call is over.

I hope it doesn't launch....I think the GM needs to be a beta.

I've been using the GM for a week, and it is VERY rough. Quite un-Apple-like with stutters, freezes, unusable Launchpad concept, (try organizing the thing if you have 200 apps....go ahead....we'll wait), a battery monitor that doesn't, and a resume feature that, well, doesn't always resume.

Chrome really doesn't play well with Lion (not that that is Apple's problem), and I feel like I'm in the world of third-party drivers on Win 7....just never know if the next time my system wakes up, the video/wireless/USB/fan controller/trackpad/hard disk driver is going to freeze up the whole thing just 'cause it's Wednesday.

It just feels very unfinished, as though all the different project managers brought all their individual features to the table and the coders put everything in there. The problem seems to be that no one figured out whether the whole thing works as an experience.

Right now, Win 7 is better. (God in heaven, I need a shower for just typing that.)

The 2nd screen shows the 26th though. :)

That's when Server comes out. ;)

What about VPN in Lion? With SnowLeopard I've been experiencing annoying problems causing me to be unable to connect to a VPN, least after a reboot. It usually happened after waking up from stop. Is this fixed w/ Lion? Has anybody tested it?

It SHOULD come out today(Thursday, July 14) because of the info we have so far of new hardware most very likely coming out today. If the hardware is coming out today, that will help so all the systems will be packaged running Lion already. Or will all new systems be packaged with Snow Leopard for upgrade? Then there are future upgrades such as the mysterious 10.9 Domestic Breed/Housecat.

New hardware isn't coming out today. Remember the earning's call is next week and it's getting late in the day for a hardware release (which are usually done between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. EST, though on a few rare occasions have been later).

It COULD come out on Sunday, July 17, because of other sources and info provided and the fact that 17 = 10.7, little chance on that last part, however.

Other sources using the same numerology crap ? Yeah, that one is even less plausible.

It MIGHT come out on Monday, July 18, because of other sources and info provided.

It IS coming out this month because they are finished, and coincidentally(hopefully) because it is the 7th(1.7) month of the year.

It IS coming out this month because that is what Apple said, not because of any numerology crap or any other reasons :

6.30AM PST and online store not down.

folks MBA is not coming today, have a good day!

I don't care as much about the hardware - Lion still has some chance of coming today. But then, they would have the sell the current Macbook Airs with Lion? Doesn't make sense.

Are they waiting to launch all of them together or what? What about the overnighted materials?

The last major releases have all been on Fridays. Why we think Lion will suddenly be different is beyond me.

If it will be this week my money is tomorrow around 6PM Eastern. New hardware will be in the stores for weekend shopping.

Why should I care about Lion? Seriously. This is the first OS that Apple is releasing that just doesn't seem to be worth the hype. It's going to be just like iOS and rely heavily on the app store. Not sure I like the direction Apple is taking their Mac OS. Enlighten me!

I agree. I've gone through the feature list a half dozen times and I don't see anything, and I mean anything, on it that would compel to eagerly and impatiently await an upgrade.

The one thing I want -resolution independence - probably never will be implemented by Apple.

Correct. 9:35 EST.

Yup.

That's what I meant. July was guaranteed. Derp.

-----------

Basically, Apple's message to us for July 17th(this isn't some ARG):

You get nothing! You lose! Good day sir!

Still lots of people in hope for a release tomorrow:D Can't deny the same thing for myself, can't wait for it. So anyone staying up just for the heck of seeing if anything happens :p

The difference this time is that there are no physical discs due to the Mac App Store. This could change things considerably.

That source was good for another release last year.

That site is just repeating what MIC gadgets is saying and MIC gadgets is regurgitating the same stories from earlier this week on AI and MR. The only bit of "new news" is that a store in China is getting ready to revamp the store for Lion, which could be based on the "do not open boxes arrive at Apple Stores" rumour from earlier this week.

Round and round we go.
