OSX League - 2011 MR NFL Fantasy Football

As long as Romo doesnt go for 40 points tonight, I should get my 2nd win in a row. Now I just need Ryan to stop sucking.
 
Well then, with Randypops out of the way my attention turns to taking on my second J-E-T-S fan in succession – and my Week 4 match up with Moyank24 represents a fantasy first for me.

You see, this is my second season in one of mscriv's Nuffling leagues, but I've been playing Association versions for many, many years – including five seasons and a World Cup's worth here at MacRumors. However, I think I'm right in saying that, until now, I've never actually faced a female manager in a one-on-one contest. That will of course change when Team Moyank pitch up at Meff Park this week.

And here's the problem. As we all know, Moyank24 is a very refined lady and Meff Park is an absolute mess, and to be frank I'm a bit embarrassed at the state of the ground, and the away changing room in particular. As such, I've had the groundsman spruce it up to try and make it a bit more befitting of such a classy lady.

Look! He's swept up, scraped (most) of the mould off the wall and even nailed up a spare bit of perspex to act as a rudimentary roof to keep the incessant drizzle off. I hope you appreciate his efforts, Moyank24. :)

Jaffa...you are one of a kind. :D My team and I are very appreciative of the efforts you have made (though I'm not going within 20 miles of that changing room).

I'm happy to be the first female manager you have faced, and hopefully, when all is said and done, I'll leave Meff Park with a W.

We do come in a bit banged up, though. I lost one of my best WR to a season ending injury this weekend, so you'll see a revised lineup.

I look forward to the challenge, Jaffa. And if I win, I hope you won't be too upset losing to a woman.
 
At the football today, I noticed a couple of rows in front a chap wearing a nuffling shirt with 'McFadden 20' emblazoned on the back. I wasn't familiar with said player, so I've just had a quick Google to find out who he was.

Turns out it was Darren McFadden of the Oakland Raiders – and I see that in the OSX League he's on Moyank24's team!

Obviously Moyank24 sent him along to Hull today to scout me and try to glean some tactical insight into how best to defeat my Meffs this week. I've seen through your cunning plan though! :D

Dangit! I told him to wear a better disguise. I guess he left the blonde wig and the flowery dress at home! I'm going to give him a stern talking to before our big game tomorrow. And I'll refer him to Bill Belichick for lessons on how to be a better cheater.
 
Well, congratulations to Moyank24 on her narrow win last week – however, despite all the talk of the fixture taking place at Meff Park it seems that it actually took place at her stadium. See, I got confused by the madcap American system of listing the away team first in a fixture, rather than the sensible and proper Englandshire system of listing the home team first. Gah.

I thought the match was going well, and we went into half-time only a few points behind. It wasn't until after my team talk that my assistant manager pointed out that there wasn't actually an away team on the field, and that's when I realised my mistake. We hotfooted it to Team Moyank's stadium but it was too little, too late. :eek: But I can't take anything away from how well Team Moyank performed, so well played.

Suffice to say that the board – and in particular shadowy team owner Lord Meff – were deeply unhappy following the match, and rumours are circulating in the local media that a poor result this week may cost me my job. Unfortunately, my opponent is none other than the free-scoring swiftaw.

So, it seems my team's performance this week against the Tangerine Factor will judge whether I'm an ex-manager – so to get a prediction I turned to a tangerine X-Factor judge. Reckon I'll pick up a win this week, Simon?
