Our MBP is stranded in ShangHai thread [UK/Eu]

This wait is killing me! I placed the order on the 14th on a 15" CTO (as mentioned earlier) and stupidly enough a dvi-adapter... It's of course "Merge In Tnst NL", but it's been the same now since last Friday - no carrier or tracking info. I have talked to apple customer care almost everyday, but they just keep on telling me that there is nothing they can do etc... Terribly annoying!

Is there many around here who has received their merge in transit - orders yet?

Norway btw.

I ordered mine on April 14th too.

Apple Hotline told me 10 mins ago, that the shipment from shanghai will arrive at Prague this evening (mine is Merge in CZ).
So maybe i will get my MBP next Tuesday, finally.

I ordered a 15" i7 Hires Glossy + DVI Adapter + AppleCare.
 
oh, we are in kind of the same boat then, even though my MBP arrived in Netherland last Friday. Good luck to you!
 
My MBP i7 high-res + remote finally arrived:D! Man, I'm so happy after 3 weeks of waiting.

I ordered on the 13th and it shipped on the 17th with the infamous Merge in transit NL method.
I wish you all good luck and see you soon on the other threads;)

Wow 3 week !? I ordered also on the 13th, I had the time to receive it, then I returned it and ordered a new one on the 26th (see signature). It looks like I will have to wait for a loooong time now :(

BTW: I know this is a bit off topic, but do anyone know what kind of screwdriver you need to swap the harddrive in the new 15"?

just got my mac today ordered it last friday, soo only 6 days to get here!!! thanks your advice i didn't order anything else and didn't have to deal with the merge BS!! woohoo

Ordered mine on 13th too, but it shipped on 24th :(

same spec's and probably the same way to go for the package, as i'm located in Basel, CH.

I hope it's coming soon.
 
hi nice folks just update... since I received mine i did not bother to track this topic... how typical :)

so that I phoned apple to sort out my apple care that started on the they they shipped it to the day I received it.

And a dude told me to send em the scanned proof of delivery to which I objected and told him they should have visibility to that... he ackowledged the fact.

My apple care is now extended to 26th April 2013, and the MBP arrived on the 27th so this is exactly 3 years.

So if you have the same prob with your apple care just get on the phone be firm and dont take any sh*t

can anyone in the uk help me - i ordered a MBP i5 2.53 with 7200rpm and matte screen a week ago, but it was through my work.

the ship time said 5-7 days on the website at the time of ordering

unfortunately because i ordered through work, i have no idea when the laptops (we ordered 3) would arrive. the online dispatch date today on the apple store now says 3 days, so i am thinking that things are speeding up.

i ordered a mbp (same machine but glossy) for my friend today (not through work) and it's saying an ETA of 26 days!

anyone in the UK order a similar machine last week, are you able to share your ETA please?

You fool! Did you order any accessories or Applecare? If you did, CANCEL the order and re- order ONLY the Macbook Pro!
 
This thread sure has slowed down. Did everyone receive their MBPs already!? :p

I'm still waiting for mine though.. Merge in NL bulls***! Ordered on the 15th, shipped on the 24th and no tracking what so ever. I think I was supposed to receive an update today ("Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 29 Apr 2010"), but I got nothing. Tried emailing Apple but got nothing useful out of them. They basically just told me everything I could look up myself. Useless.

ETA is still MAY 10! By then I've waited almost a month! Hopefully it arrives next week!!

VERY good thread there I must say and do appreciate your time in composing that. Very informative and concise indeed.

Anyway, I called Apple up earlier today to try and give me that number but they were being complete bar-stewards eventhough I was being polite about everything! Will try again tomorrow though.

Oh! How come everyone have got 'Merge in NL' when I've got GB. I know its probably because I threw in Parallels, AppleCare and a Time Capsule but I feel so left out!

Still waiting for mine, also shipped on 24th. The order status page is showing 29-30 April while the tracking page is showing 11 May. Hmm :rolleyes: Only saving grace is I've been promised compensation if its delayed (and I made sure it wasn't going to be a poxy iTunes gift card).

Thanks and shame you didn't have much luck with the people on the phone. If you call in the morning you'll be more likely to get through to a European call handler who are usually more relaxed than our cousins over the pond.

Anyway, I have Merge in GB too. It means that your order will be flown into the UK and then merged in the Apple DC in Leicester. Apple have other European DCs inc. one in the Netherlands (so ppl who have Merge in NL will have their orders flown there, merged and then handed to a courier to deliver to you). I think whether you get Merge in GB or NL has more to do with capacity management and which flights are available than anything else.

I just looked at your screen grabs and I reckon my MBP is on the same palette which docked early this morning at Heathrow. Shame I couldn't just take a short drive down the M4 to pick it up. Woulda picked yours up and wizz it down the A40 for you too if I could. But no! It has to go all the way up to Leicester and come back down again! Hey ho, what can we do eh?!
 
So I'm starting to get excited and I'm needing to get a better idea on when to expect my 15" i7.

Ordered on the 19th, Merge In GB....Shipped 26th...Est. Del. 11th May.


I just checked and the Est. Del has changed to 10th May, but it also says "Preparing handover to final carrier".....is the final carrier the UK carrier? So once that happens it should arrive pretty quick, maybe Monday or Tuesday, (3th/4th of May)?

Could someone with some experience of this plz give me an idea of what this latest scrap of info means.....or quickly put a stop to this wishful thinking, so I can calm down. :D

Will only tell you if you post here when you receive it ;)

I think it means its in the DC and about to be handed to TNT or UPS. Depending on how busy they are it may appear tomorrow (not so likely) or after the bank-holiday. As soon as 'Assigned Carrier' has something in it you'll know that its in the hands of a courier.

Possibly, but I don't know anymore. I've lost most of my marbles over this whole MBP order experience and its been probably worse than the wait when my kids were born! I've just been analysing jaredm1's screen grabs and it looks like Apple's estimated times take in account the ridiculous number of days the palettes have to sit in customs in both Shanghai and London, then there's the transportation for 'merge' thing and the actual delivery after that.
