Our MBP is stranded in ShangHai thread [UK/Eu]

Hey, guys... Apple Store (@Westquay, Southampton) called me at 4pm+ and I went there straight away to collect my MBP!

I tried to argue that I need the ExpressCard slot, so they went to the back and discuss and told me I need to pay £300 for the upgrade! F*ck it, so I got this one. I am happy for it.

Thank you guys whom have contributed their time in this thread waiting for our MBP - It has been my pleasure. Thanks a lot and fingers crossed for the arrival for your MBP!

Called apple today (american on the phone, for record), said he'd be VERY surprised if it took as long as 5th may (official "latest" time), said he didn't have a fixed date, but based on what he's seen before, he'd expect it in the next 2 days. ie tomorrow or wednesday, which is the original arrival date before iceland decided to puke over europe.

I really hope that's true, but i'm a little dubious. I'm in the same boat, ordered on 13th, shipped on 16th but have been merged in transit status ever since. Did the apple chap say that you would get a tracking number at any point? Woudl be a shame if they tried to deliver tomorrow and I'm not there to recieve it!!

The bit that says to be updated will say distribution the into a TNT tracking number.

same here. I phoned apple today and they told me that I'll have the tracking no. tomorrow, but nothing new about the delivery date
 
Im in the same boat, same ordering and shipping dates, with same merge in transit status.

What spec book have you ordered? I take it your in the uk?

When i rang apple they did state that i would receive a transit tracking number, but nothing yet. Its so irritating!

just to update, mine arrived today. ordered on the 16th.

since I'm not at home I wont see it till next week, I can't wait!

15" i7 with ssd 128gb and anti glare higher res screen. I stupidly agreed to teh sales pitch and ordered applecare with it!

Someone earlier suggsted that people with update date of 26th (on the tracking page) would get their tracking number today. However nothing as yet. Would be good to know when it will arrive as I can't book my flight out of the country until I know!

Yup, in UK (London).

Wow, complete snap :) cept for I got the 256GB SSD. They were like "its only £50, you might as well!" and I couldn't help it!

Been through all the tests and am very happy with the computer.
17" AG, i7, 8Gb, 7200rpm. There are no dead or stuck pixels or yellow tinting. Fan noise is almost identical to my MBP 1,1 (ie very quiet but not inaudible). It's not getting warm but I haven't pushed it hard yet.

My only criticism is that the bottom of the case has the tiniest bit of wiggle to it, was expecting something a little more solid feeling, will probably unscrew the case and re-attach it to see if that helps but I agree with other posters that the aluminium could have been a little thicker on the bottom, but hey.

hmm.. I just got some fecking tracking number on my merge in transit sort of thing... it also says

so far it doesnt work with TNT i am gonny be sooo on the phone with apple tomorrow...

It means they are waiting for TNT to collect. The TNT Hub is next to it... I got two iMacs last week and it went from UK DC to delivered... I got them before they updated lol

Maybe TNT could do with some i7 hardware :D

Thanks for that. How long after the tracking number update did you receive your iMacs?

I recieved my last mbpro via ups. I thought all apple deliveries in UK were UPS? is that not the case?
