I've got "Assigned Carrier: NL DISTRIBUTION CENTER" as well. Wonder if it means that it left China or that it is somewhere near NL

Good for you guys, it's finally moving...

I'm continuously harassing the Apple Store hotline, I wonder if they'll ban my phone number :)

Intersting

Hmm. Sent this yesterday:

Hi Mr Jobs

Just thought i'd let you know how ridiculous your tracking system is for 'merge in transit' orders. There is no reason why you can't run a two stage tracking service. First stage tracking to the central hub for merging. And second stage tracking for final delivery.

I have absolutely no idea where my MacBook Pro is. And neither do any of the 'Merge in Transit' Customers on here. Any information would be useful. But for future customer's orders, either ship separately, or re-do the system.

Just had a call from apple saying there looking into the idea and most importantly...

my macbookpro is being merged in the uk today (i think)

cool

Which number did you use for contacting Apple? I keep getting USA/Indian people! :(

Dear Mr. Wheeler,

Thank you for taking my call earlier this afternoon. I spoke with our Logistics team and requested accurate tracking updates as quickly as is possible.
I can advise you that your full order is being merged today in our UK distribution hub and being prepared for its onward journey via courier to your delivery address(as seen below). We expect to hand over your order to the couriers tomorrow.

[REMOVED] :D

As soon as I receive details of the couriers that will be assigned to your order, I will forward that to you.

I will remain in contact with you until your order arrives.

Have a good evening.
Nice!

Only I wish it were dispatched today. This computer has crashed twice so far today.

Equation:
- "Assigned Carrier: NL DISTRIBUTION CENTER" = Arrived at the DC and ready to be merged ?

- "Assigned Carrier: NL DISTRIBUTION CENTER" = Yeah it's ready for pick up ?

When did you order and when did yours ship?

I ordered mine on the 14th, and shipped 18th, and wondering if that would be the case for my order too.

You may have a point. But as I said earlier in the thread I need a computer to work, and I can't afford to wait any longer, Apple are preventing me from earning money with their incompetence...

To be honest, everyone on here should have known what would happen... It was ALL over the news for an entire week that all flights in Europe (apart from a couple of countries) had been grounded...
I saw it coming, and thought to myself "Oh well, that'll be the MBP turning up a week late at least"... I considered cancelling my order and going to get it from a shop, but by that point it already said it had shipped, so I figured I'd just wait (but then I have been using a colleagues 15" MBP for the last 6 months whilst waiting for the new ones to be released)...

Everyone knows what sort of backlog there currently is of deliveries that havent been made, people stuck in foreign countries, warehouses in Africa full of rotting flowers (I read in a news report that most of the UK's floral industry imports flowers from Africa) that are unable to be sent... Its impacted everyones lives at the moment, least of all ours who's only problem is they cant get a new computer...

As I said in a previous post, I wouldnt mind, as long as they kept the order status page up to date... The volcano was one of those things that doesnt happen very often... It could have been a LOT worse, but Im glad it wasnt...

Yea its annoying not having the updates, and they should do a better job of keeping people updated as to what is happening with their order...
But its not ENTIRELY Apple's fault ;-)

I'm loving my 13" so far :) in fact, my estimated battery time just went through the roof! 8:22 hours! This new 10-hr battery is amazing!

Shucks to see so many people don't have theirs yet :(

After six days of anxious waiting, my delivery status has changed from:

In Transit to Customer - Shipment Delayed

to:

In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule

My estimated delivery date is still 28-29th so hopefully it'll be here soon!

(Shipped on the 15th with Syncreon, heading to UK.)

Also, if you needed a computer that much, why didnt you just go to a local Apple store?
Sure as hell would have been quicker than waiting the original 10 days for delivery of a new machine...
Then you could have at least earned your cash :)

a) Because I don't have a local store, b) the nearest store didn't have the configuration I wanted c) I couldn't find a store in the UK with the config I wanted.

errrrr...d) I've ordered a 17 incher from the refurb store.Not what I wanted but it'll have to do :)

Regardless of whether it should or should not take the amount of time it has, I consider Apple's duty of care to a customer who has spent £2000 simply unacceptable. I had to buy a refurb as I'm sadly tied in to OS X but it'll be my last Apple.

Last post on this thread, I wish you all the best of luck :)

Excited!

Ooh ooh!

On the plus side, I got confirmation just now that my 24 inch Cinema Display has been shipped (work bought this for me - and its ordered through a different company - no idea how this affects the shipping times)...

Hopefully that'll turn up some time this week too!

I canceled my on-line order with the Apple Store in Switzerland on the 15th after having been informed my 13" MBP was due for delivery on 5 May, hoping to go with the local Apple Store route. For some reason I thought they'd have priority...but now I'm stuck with an outstanding order from an outlet in Berne with an availability date "in two weeks, we hope"! If it weren't for this wonderful spring weather I'd be going nuts. Think I'll go for a bike ride...
