There is font-size adjustment and to be honest I love the hi-res in the store, had no problems reading it. But some people don't feel so comfortable with hi-res regardless.

My old Dell was a 15.4" 1920x1200. Sure the Dell was crazy but my eyes adjusted to it within a few days and looking at the Fisher Price resolution on the previous-gen 15" MBPs was awful so I had to buy the 17" just to get the same res.

My current computer is a hackintosh dell with the HR screen. I don;t think i'd cope with the reduced screen size.

Are you under 30? If so, then i'm sure you'll be fine. I kinda wanted a 1920x1200 screen but hey, you can't have everything right? :rolleyes:

Which Dell Hackintosh do you have?- I hackintoshed a XPS m1330 a couple years back but couldn't get everything to work (the usual "sleep" problem, etc..)

If there is a decent hackintosh Dell compatible laptop available I might seriously consider it, getting fed up with Apple already!

At least with Dell, you order, and you get it! (and with a tracking number thrown in for free!!)

Vostro 1500. Tis now rubbish. Same problems too. no sleep. Doesn't shut down properly.

Anyway I'm getting my mbp today (hopefully :D) so Problems = gone?

Well people have different opinions. For me, the HiRes was clearly not ok. I also tried to higher the OS font size with TinkerTool but then some dialog boxes looked strange. More details in the thread.

I called TNT and asked them if they could please phone me right before they arrive at my place (I work literally five minutes away). The response: We cannot tell our drivers to call ahead. So no. Great great service there.

Hopefully they will arrive when the missus is home, otherwise they will just leave a note (sometimes they don't even do that) and try again "later". Great.

Worst case scenario I can either return it or use it as an overpriced windows 7 laptop!

TNT sucks.. I see they placed my MBP with TNT too..

I've ordered lots of stuff from AppleStore, and when they use UPS all is good (and the driver always call), but every single time they use TNT there are problems.

(And they can't tell the drivers to call, because they use private phones, and TNT then can't order them to use it to call us.. :p That's what I was told last time I argued with TNT. It used to be that Apple told the carriers not to call..)

Yes it did. My package left Eindhoven yesterday, but it still hasn't arrived in Switzerland (Basel). Maybe they need clearance before they can deliver it into Switzerland or it goes to another TNT hub around here. The TNT tracking site still says today, but I guess tomorrow seems now more realistic.

You are not the only person that is waiting for his package. (MacBook Pro or whatever else) So, TNT-FedEx-UPS will make a round and will deliver other packages too. I live 35km from Lisbon (25mins by car) and mine said "Out for delivery" 2 hours ago. So be patient :)

Sorry for my english. Grammar fail, yup? :D
 
It has arrived

Thanks to the awful weather that forced the missus home five minutes before tnt came on the door. I am stuck at work for another couple of hours.

Thank you all for this thread. It's nice to vent ones frustrations sometimes. Hope you all get what you're waiting for soon.
 
my shipment at last got a tracking number!!

I ordered on the 14th April in the early hours.
I got a 15"MBP with antiglare and 7200 harddrive. and some software, Expected delivery showed as 28th APril
I got a order shipped email on the 17th , and like everyone else , got held up in the ash cloud.
Then my delivery date got moved to 5th MAy.

until last night i was still waiting a tracking number , as i was a merge in transit number, in the early hours last night it got updated and i got one with an out for delivery today (28th) , so im now sat behind the door waiting haha.

So i think theres some hope for people with long delivery times expected, mine is going to arrive as scheduled when i first bought.

In fact the UPs van just puleed up OMG got to go, fingers xd for everyone and hopefully well all get ours soon!!
 
Just received my MBP 13"! It was merge on Transit one (as ordered applecare which is a disc and a printer)

Its great! well so long, hope all of u receive urs soon!
 
Haven't recieved the extras yet ???

But only the Mbp came. Wierd. Especially as it was merge in transit lol.

Tis very gd tho. Lol
 
Received mine today too.:D

Ordered 13th, Shipped 16th, merge in transit UK.

Got the email yesterday promising that it would come today.

Same here. I phoned TNT, they told me it's coming tomorrow
