Just called the local certified reseller, and they tell me they'll have it in stock at May 7th. *sigh*, they keep postponing it...
I'm in Copenhagen, Denmark - would I get it faster by just ordering it through the Apple Store?

Did Apple delay my order??

So I was complaining to an Apple rep about the lack of tracking info and he sent me a link to his view of my shipment. It doesn't say very much - other than the order that I placed on the 15th, prepared for shipping on the 19th, shipped on 24th April from Shanghai (well after the ash cloud had cleared) will arrive in Luxembourg on 1st May (I'm in the UK)!

A few minutes ago I noticed the following appeared 'Customer Requested Future Delivery'. Have Apple delayed my order??

My 15" i7 HR Glossy just arrived. I just have to say, the glossy screen is beautiful. I haven't used it outside yet, calibrating the battery. But this screen blows the old MacBook Air Rev B's screen out of the water.

Haven't installed my Intel G2 160GB SSD yet until my optical bay caddy arrives from china. Then, I'll be able to post some proper numbers : )

I ordered mine on the 26th. Estimated delivery is may 10th or 11th. Living in Belgium.

You lucky duck, I am so jealous right now. Ordered mine the 20th of April and est del the 17-19th of May (Sweden). That's almost twice as long, all for not knowing better and getting a darn remote... :'(

Hopefully getting mine tomorrow or Friday, wont have my 256GB SSD or 8GB RAM upgrade so I'm not all that excited yet :(

Don't get too excited... 1st of May is a BIIIIG holiday all over Europe, not much is going to move with our orders on the 1st (Sat), or Sunday or even Monday (many countries in Europe have Monday 3rd as a holiday too).

So basically we are well stuffed....

I think both I and the rep would get in hot water for that, as it is I have a search function which probably means I can lookup any order number - I've dared not touch it though.

mine got here today. ordered 13th. 15" hi res anti glare. Transferring my life (oops, data) over from my old MBP now.

Screen is mesmerising (from the opening video), tho I dont know how quick etc it is, until I can log in and do some work. I just wish I could get a hires screen on the 13". the 15" is too big physically for my liking, but hey, this is so I can work over the UK winter.... in NZ, in summer :)

The split shipping thing, however, is total BS. I ended up with 2 separate packages, with separate tracking numbers etc - one was the mac, one was a small bubble bag with the apple care manual, disk and 2 pieces of paper. What a fracking waste of time.

Ship the mac to me directly. Ship the other stuff to me from where ever they are. Separatly. Not like it's cheaper to send 2 packages than..... 2 packages.

From Luxembourg I think it has to go to some distribution centre in the UK, so I was by no means getting excited about that info.

It's probably just some standard reason which some employee may choose when the shipment of the order is being delayed for some reason (in this case being the delayed flights to the entire continent of Europe) - it would make absolutely no sense for Apple to further delay your order based on a conversation with a sales rep.

However, what I really found interesting is the link you received from the sales rep so that you can get more detailed info about your order - that's really unheard of! Is it a link to some part of apple.com which is accessible with, say, one's order number? What I'm really fishing for is: Is it a link which you in any way can pass on, without it being exclusively related to your order?

The URL contains some kind of hashed parameter, it doesn't seem like you could easily change it for your own order number and as I've already stated, I'm not going to fish around in this thing.

It has finally arrived, and is lovely. So glad I ordered the anti glare option and looking forward to getting some work done. Good luck to all who haven't got their order/ tracking info yet.:(:(
And remember never ever ever EVER order anything with your computer not even Applecare because you'll end up on a site very much like this trying to find out where it is!!!:D

This thread is getting to be as long as "Waiting for Arrandale".

Having survived that for 2 months, and now another month on the "Our MBPs are stranded in Shangai" thread... I'm going to be at a loss when my Macbook Pro shows up....

I'm going to have to get a life.... !

Estimated today

My estimated delivery is currently today (28th Apr) and have been waiting in all day.

Status only changed to 'In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule' at about lunchtime and have no carrier tracking details.

Think I should wait in all night just in case or is it time to give up? (its now 5.40pm)

I think the latter should be more appropriate, with reference to the formal working time for most of the people here.

Hey mate... Sorry for creating such a time wasting thread. Nevertheless, this is the only place I spent my time with messing around with people who are in the same boat as me. The experience has been priceless! ;)

I called them yesterday and they said it would be here today and if not I should call them back and they will give me free stuff.

What number did you call? Why I never encounter such helpful/Santa-claus people whenever I called Apple? I waited for one month since I sent my MBP for repair, so I talked with the manager (in Westquay, Southampton) and asked him if he can give me something as a gesture of goodwill? He said no, we don't do this kind of thing. :(

I just called then again and yes I am disappointed. It is now in the UK, but although the status had gone though the 'assigning to carrier' stage it still hasn't been assigned to a carrier. Once it has it will apparently take up to 48 hours to get to me, so maybe tomorrow, maybe friday!

The woman on the helpline (0845 600 1683) was very helpful and has said she will watch the order and let me know what is going on and also offer me 'goodwill'.

Not time wasting at all! I'll really miss the forum once I get my Macbook Pro...

By the way, your MBP has arrived... not stranded in Shangai any longer, you shouldn't be on this thread no more!
Are you missing the forum also?
