Guys, I just received my reservation number this morning. It’s letting me go through the ordering process but when I reach the shipping part, it told me they can’t ship at a PO Box and I have to choose the store pickup option. However, the store pickup is all unavailable so it’s not letting me through. Apple support at both chat and phone call are unavailable at this time. How do I get through this? Anybody with similar issues?

Your SOL unless you ship it to your home or try your place of work

I just finished chatting with a rep - she said they are obv experiencing delays and that the reservation email will hold your spot (delivery date) and not to cancel and reorder....NOW, is that true - who knows, but that is was she said.
thanks, i'm just going to let this play out.

I went to get 3 phones. 1 went through no problem. 2nd one, I had the reservation email and wife just paid for it now. I'm still waiting for the 3rd one so I can pay for it. Both reservation emails start with B.

First two purchases were made 12:07 and 12:09. This one went through at 12:14.

I think the Reservation numbers start with B - the order numbers start with W. I might be wrong, but I think they are two different things.

Been following this thread all morning and just made an account so I could reply. I just talked to Apple support because I found myself in a similar situation.

I ordered my X as soon as it went live, opting to pay the full price up front (existing AT&T customer). Within a few minutes I received an email stating that my order was being processed, which included an order number starting with a W (got a November 3 ship date).

About 3 hours later I noticed I had another email claiming that my "iPhone has been reserved", and it mentioned I'd be receiving further instructions. A few minutes later I got another email titled "Important information about your iPhone reservation". The email stated that I needed to return to the Apple Store to complete my order. I followed the link but was only met with 2 AT&T Next options, which I found odd considering I already chose to pay in-full earlier. I decided to just wait and contact support before I did anything else.

After talking to support a few minutes ago, they confirmed that my order was definitely placed as indicated by the original email and is set for Nov 3. They said I shouldn't have received the two emails about the reservations and it seemed to be an error on their end.

Hope that information helps. If you have any more questions it seems like contacting apple support is the best option.

I'm confused. I ordered a one-time payment, unlocked iPhone, but now that I'm completing my reservation I'm only getting an option for AT&T Next. I assume I can just pay it off with AT&T, but will it be unlocked?

Excellent updates all. one question, my experience did not include selecting delivery or pickup. Do you get that choice when you get the 2nd email?

Look at my post above yours. Same thing happened to me.

You should be 11/3 if that’s what it said on your order screen before you got to the reservation part.
I was able to order at 12 minutes after the hour, and my delivery date from apple.com was Nov 17-24 !!

Someone here suggested bestbuy. I also ordered from best buy and now I have Nov 10.

I'm bummed that I stayed up all night (2:00am texas time) and still can't get one on launch day.

I got my two emails and followed the link to complete the order. It was supposed to be for Verizon paid in full but the only options it gave me were for a payment plan. I decided to wait and try again once I got to work. That attempt at work showed everything correctly and I was able to pay in full with a 11/3 delivery date.

This is a serious wide spread issue.
I too bought the phone with a full payment upfront and an immediate confirmation of 11/3 delivery date with W order number. Three hours later I got an email from Apple to finish my “reservation” but only allowed me to use ATT next program which of course I do not want to do. I believe this is an error in Apple’s system. Since so many people have the exact experience, I look forward to seeing article about this soon in tech outlet.

This happened to my wife. Kept erroring our at the carrier approval screen and she finally got a message saying you’re phone has been reserved, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link that you must click within 24 hours etc etc. But she hasn’t gotten any e-mails.
Happened to me also ?

What does this mean for me?

Same! You would think with demand as high as this....the carrier servers would connect. Carrier websites worked, yet.. when it came to Apple it failed.

I think I had waited 8 minutes after and got the reservation number. Kept trying only to receive errors. Then checked Twitter... users saying Best Buy still had some in stock showing 11/3 date, so I ordered there.

I got mine locked in at 12:11, AT&T Service, First time Upgrade Program Signup.. Reservation starts with "B" - Still No follow up to complete process. I also had one that i tried to do on my phone and it said "Cannot Authenticate With Citizen's One - We will update in 8 hours for you" I got an email at 6am saying i would have to restart the process. Luckily I did both so now i am just waiting on my Reservation email. Note to all: NEVER SIGN UP FOR APPLE UPGRADE PROGRAM ON A LAUNCH DAY. It will only cause headaches

Our story - my husband and I were ready at preorder launch with Apple Store app, Apple website, Verizon website open.. Verizon was the first to enable so I went ahead and ordered there (but will probably need to call them since they charged me an extra 40 buck line charge for some reason).. Supposedly will arrive Nov. 3 but we’ll see what actually happens. Glad in my sleep-deprived state I had retrieved my credit card, since I had originally intended to purchase from Apple with Apple Pay.

But as for Apple, as in previous years we ran into delays... at about 10 minutes after launch the website was finally available (not the app)... my husband ordered the phone, but got the message that they couldn’t contact the carrier and his phone had been “reserved”... not sure why they had to do this as he is buying it outright... So he got the acknowledgement email regarding the reservation at 5:40 a.m. Eastern time, and is still waiting for the email regarding finishing the order. Supposedly using the app was going to be the “best” way to order, but it did not enable until around 16 minutes after launch.

At the time he made the “reservation” the site said 2-3 weeks availability. Space gray, 256 GB.

I ordered one AT&T Next phone through the Apple Store app at about 12:05. Got the reservation notice. Ordered one for my wife through Apple.com about 12:07. Got a Nov. 3 ship date for both.

Received an email that a reservation had been made for both orders about two hours later. An hour after THAT, I got an email with the link to complete the first order, which I did. Still got my Nov. 3 ship date. I'm still waiting on the email for the second order. If I take that reservation order, plug it into the link I got in the first email, I get a notice that says "we are holding your reservation, wait for an email."

So far so good, I guess. If this really works the way it says it does, I MUCH prefer this to fighting on the website/app.
