Placed 2 orders using the app. No emails whatsoever.

Got a reservation and no communication either. Refreshing the status page gives me the same stale info.

Ordered at 12:13 on the app
what do you mean by got a reservation? you mean the notification it was reserved?

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you - but ordered a little earlier than you did...
let's keep each other posted since it seems like few of us have not gotten any communication. I tried getting a rep on the phone but impossible to get through

Can I order two phones with my wife's # and done with my # - then use my wife's phone with my phone #.
And cancel my second order with my #?

Just for reference, I received my first email at 2:41am PST and the second at 4:46am PST.

So I got the first email (“Your iPhone has been reserved”) but not a second one where I can complete the order. Since it was confusing whether this would actually allow me to order a phone (and still is), last night I gave up on the Apple site and app and went directly to Verizon and placed an order.

My question is, if they send me the second email when they are able to check my Verizon info, will Verizon tell them there’s already a new phone associated with that line so reject? I pre-paid in full on Verizon and would do the same with Apple, but I still had to associate it with a line/phone # so I don’t know if that blocks out other purchases for pre-ordering.

Will I have to first cancel my Verizon order? And if so, will it clear in time to allow me to place the order through Apple? Apple’s email says you only have 24 hours so I wonder if there’s a lag that will screw me and prevent me from getting any phone.

You can only order 1 phone per number. Once you receive the phone, I believe you can activate it on any number. (given that you bought it outright).

Unfortunately, you cannot complete the reservation with an active pending order. You would have to cancel it and go through the reservation steps.

You will have about 24hrs to complete your reservation. The 24hr time starts when you receive the 2nd email.

Placed order around 00:10 and got reservation popup...email confirming reservation at 02:41...nothing since....

Placed my order about 12:20 AM.
Received an email at 12:27 AM saying "We're processing your order" with estimated delivery of Nov 17-24.
Received an email 2:41 AM saying "Your iPhone has been reserved" and to expect a second email to complete the order. The second email never came.
My order status at 6AM was "order placed" and then changed to "order in progress."

Chat rep said to disregard the reservation email and that my order is proceeding forward with my estimated delivery date.

Edit: I was doing pay in full AT&T

I ordered mine through the apple website Same message. Now 1:08 Pm and still no update.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I unable to complete my order right now?
We are currently unable to reach your carrier’s systems to process the information that you have provided. We will hold on to the information you have entered and use it to confirm phone pricing and eligibility for your account.
What will determine my eligibility?
If you are starting a new account with your carrier, they will run a credit check using the billing information that you have provided and confirm that service is available in your area. A carrier deposit may be required. If you are buying an iPhone for an existing carrier line, they will confirm that your account is in good standing and determine, based on where you are in your carrier contract, the price for which you are eligible.

Sorry. I should have been more articulate. I placed 2 hard orders. Nov 3 (silver 256) and nov 17 (space grey 256 at time of order was 11/3).

I tried to place an order on a 3rd line and got the reservation page. Screenshotted it and have not heard anything since.

Did not receive confirmation emails from Apple for all 3.

Not sure if it’s related, but we run MS office 365 (hosted email)

Finally got through to chat... FWIW:

"I know you’re worried that you may not be able to get it on time. No problem, once Apple has received confirmation from the carrier that we can process your order you will receive an email with steps to complete the order. Your reservation will save your original delivery quote and place in line as long as you come back and complete your reservation within 24 hours of receiving the email."

Hmm.. I’m confused with confirmation from the carrier. Are they only checking to see if that’s a valid number associated with the carrier OR are they checking if that line indeed is upgradable.

What I don't understand is: what's taking so long. I mean, right now I can go on and the application has no issues confirming with carrier. Even after getting a 'reservation' I just retried it and there were no communication issues with carrier...so what's the hold up?

Have you been able to resolve this? Same thing happened to me so I canceled the second 2-3 week order so I could complete the reservation order for Nov 3rd using AT&T Next, only it keeps telling me I'm not eligible for Next (I'm assuming because it's still hung up on that first order when contacting AT&T for status.) I've spent 3 hours this morning talking with AT&T about resetting my Next eligibility and they now say that I'm eligible for upgrade again, however when I try the reservation link I still get the same message about not being eligible for AT&T Next. Now I'm on hold with Apple...

I asked my wife if the 2-3 week wait mattered to her. It didn't, but a 5-6 week wait would. I decided to leave well enough alone and not take an unnecessary risk, so I left the second order in place and will let the reservation expire. Hey, if there's enough people that bail on the reservations, maybe there will be people on the 2nd wave move into the 1st.

Best of luck with your call to Apple.

Did it hold your place in line?

I'm still waiting on the 2nd email.
It did. I have an 11/3 delivery. I also have an order for 12/5 that I completed well after 3:30 but debating whether I should cancel it. Both orders have AT&T Next on them and my car was charged for ~$72 this morning for the 11/3 shipment. A friend says I shouldn't until I have it in my hand on Friday ;) Once I know it's shipped I will probably just cancel... or.... pay for it and the resell it... for

Agreed. If it does hold our place in line, my wife and I should both get November deliveries... Not sure when though - was just trying to complete the orders quickly.

I got this message at 3:11am EST and have still not received even one email. I tried going to that site but it says “Your request couldn’t be processed.
We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later.”
How’d it go, I still have nothing and reserved another since i think it broke

Trying to determine their stock, I suppose.

If we had carrier issues giving us reserve spots while others were able to get thru went launch delivery dates. I think the system can throw it out of wack.

Would it then push the users who gotten through over the ones who had reserve spots before them. I find this to be a very conflicting process.

Important update:

I did not receive an email yet, but I continued to check my 'reservation status.' My reservation was just opened and I was able to complete the order with a delivery date of Nov 3. So, continue to check reservation status!

check where ?

If you haven't received your second email, keep checking the status. Mine just switched from "hold" to "Place order" - and I was able to go thru and fully place the order. I received order confirmation.

ATT Full Price 64GB Space Grey
Ordered via Apple.com (about) 2:05AM CDT
First email: 4:42AM CDT
Order placed about 12:20PM CDT (no second email received)
Delivery: 11/3

I got my “complete reservation “ email this morning, which I did. The email confirmation for the order shows Nov 3 delivery date. However, when I go to check the order status in the Apple Store app, it doesn’t show up in “My Orders”. I also tried clicking the link within the confirmation email and it comes up with the message in the Apple Store app saying “the order (my order number here) does not belong to this account”.

What the heck does that mean?
