I got that message at around 3:05am when trying to pre order. Got the email saying they received my reservation order at 442am. Got another email at 645am asking me to proceed with my reservation and i had 24 hours to do so.

I wasn't able to get to actually ordering from that reservation email until around 1000am this morning then completing my order and a date of 11/3 given as delivery.

Important update:

I did not receive an email yet, but I continued to check my 'reservation status.' My reservation was just opened and I was able to complete the order with a delivery date of Nov 3. So, continue to check reservation status!

Same here! Didn't get the second email but when I checked on the status by entering my reservation number and phone number, it let me place the order! This was for an iPhone X 256gb using the iPhone Upgrade Program and I am confirmed for Nov 3 delivery! Thanks!
 
Can confirm that I just placed my order by checking the link that was including in the first email, even though I never received a second email. Estimated delivery Nov. 10-17. Glad it's over.

Be patient and wait for the second email, it will come. Your spot in line is reserved. Hang tight.

I checked my status and could complete my order. I had thought I had the 11/03 delivery window during checkout, but apparently somewhere during the errors I was bumped to 11/17-11/24 delivery window. Not the end of the world. Just happy I'll get one in 2017 to be honest. Seems like supply is extremely short.

Probably been confirmed, but if you got one of these emails, the process is easy.

1) Don't wait for an email from Apple.
2) Go to https://buyiphone.apple.com/status
3) Enter your reservation number and Wireless Number
4) It should say it's ready and you can add AppleCare and pay tax to complete your order.

I ordered mine at 12:01 and confirmed I have a Nov 3 ship date when my order confirmation went through. Seems to have worked beautifully.
 
So i did not receive the second email, however i went to the reservation link on the first email and it worked, I got my phone ordered and it says delivers 11/3!!!!!!!!!

Now, I have not ability to change from delivery option. The pickup is unavailable and now I have a 78.00 extra fee for tax. UGHGHGH. Horrible experience so far! My delivery is Nov 17th to 24th
 
Still patiently waiting. First email reservation @ 5:41AM EST. No 2nd email, clicking link in first email still results in holding status. Silver IPhone X 64GB AT&T
 
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you - but ordered a little earlier than you did...

For those who have not received any sort of communication - are you able to see a reservation # on the Apple online store when logging to your account?

Why is your local store tax free but shipping has tax?
 
I got my reservation email at 5:40am, but I have not gotten the 2nd email yet. Getting a little inpatient for sure but not much I can do but wait at this point. I ordered via the Apple Store app, 256GB Space Grey for AT&T.

Wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know that I finally received the 2nd email at 1:31pm and just finished placing my order. I have a delivery date of November 3rd too so it definitely looks like the reservation does indeed do what it’s supposed to do, which is reserve a phone for you without losing your place. This is for the AT&T Next Every Year plan if that makes a difference to anyone.

It looked dicey there for a bit, but I have to say that I’m pretty satisfied with the way this was handled. I still don’t fully comprehend why Apple was having trouble communicating with the carriers (not placing blame on anyone though) but it seems like they are sorting it out. And I definitely did not place my order at :01 (it was probably more like :03-:05 by the time the store finally came online for me), so I’m pretty happy that I’ll still get it on launch day barring any unforeseen delays.
 
I got through with the Apple Store App on the iPad at 12:08 am California time last night and for the "Your iPhone has been reserved but we need to verify with your carrier" notice. This despite the fact that I'm paying full price on an unlocked (Verizon) iPhone X.

This morning I had an email from Apple in my mailbox saying the same thing, and advising me that another email will follow as soon as they verify with my carrier (Verizon).

Well, I waited for the second email but didn't receive any. So a few moments ago I checked the buyiphone.apple.com/status link, entered my reservation number and voila! There was the "Continue" button. I completed the purchase and the estimated delivery is between Nov 17-24.
 
Never got an email but checked the reservation status and found 2 iphones reserved. Both with November 17-24 dates. I cancelled one and freed it up for some one else. Hope these dates move up.
 
didn’t get second email but able to complete order with reservation number from initial email...just checked the link and it was ready to go
 
I keep getting this error

"We’re sorry. We can’t find your reservation. Please verify your information and try again."
 
Having multiple reservations wont delay or impact an order that went through will it??

I was impatient and received multiple reservations and placed my order this morning and it is now in "order is in progress".

Just making sure.

As other stated.. just go through the first email it should let you go ahead and preorder. My issue is trying to get my eligibility reinstated. As of now it's saying I'm ineligibility, I went through the test runs of ordering a iPhone 8 through AT&T Next and it allowed me to go through the steps.

Not sure why I can't get the option now.
 
My email arrived 20-30 minutes after I was able to complete reservation order through status page - so definitely don't wait on that email. Keep checking status page.
 
I saw the screen pop up saying I have a reservation but didn’t take screenshot. I haven’t gotten any emails at all. Has this happened to anyone else, I’m worried.
 
I just got my 2nd email....but now the date has slipped to 11/17-11/24. My order is still processing.
 
I received the original email, received the second email letting me know that it was ready to place my order but any attempt to look up the reservation # says "Sorry we could not find your reservation...". I also called Verizon and they confirmed they did see an order for the iphone X requested from apple so I'm not sure what the hell is happening now..
