I believe there is a small Nov 6 group and a Nov 10-17 group, so 17-24 would be the fourth batch.
That’s ridiculous... this reservation bullcrap messed up my place in line. I should’ve been 11/3 pickup
 
I got my email an hour ago. Even though I tried to order the X at 3:10am I got a delivery of Nov 17-24. Not terrible but I expected launch getting up that early..
 
Wow, I'm glad we're both in the same boat so that I'm not the only one, but this really sucks. Now I don't know if I should just place another one or continue to wait. Lets keep each other posted!
unfortunately I think we were the 'lucky' group to fall into this limbo black hole for some reason or another. I am planning to give it another day just for the sake of maybe something will come through, even though I highly doubt it. I will not place a new order for now just because the shipping time is really long, so I prefer to wait a day then risk it. The other option would be to go next week to the Apple Store and stand in line, which is the last thing I want to do, or even have much hope of success there.
 
We had a similar problem to others. My order went through fine for Nov 3rd shipping however my partner got the reservation message. We did not get the second email until this afternoon. Followed the link and luckily he got a 3rd Nov delivery date as well.

I think that whoever got the first email confirming you have a reservation is safe. The issue is with others like me, who did not receive a first confirmation email, just message on the screen while trying to order.
 
What is this reservation. Is the about reserving to get your phone on IUP? I never saw any of this today.
 
I was in this boat last night. Got the pop up about the reservation and couldn’t make another order no matter what. Went onto att and made an order there. Looks like that will arrive on the 3rd.

Got both of those emails today about the reservation and it’s allowing me to pay full price for delivery on the 3rd. Im just going to go this route. Pay it in full now and cancel the att order.
 
Continually refreshed the Apple Store on multiple devices beginning at 12:00 PDT. Store was still down on every device for me until 12:11, at which time I saw a 2-3 week delay for the 256GB space gray. Did everything quickly and correctly on my end and was hit with the B reservation screen because they couldn’t contact AT&T.

First confirmation email came 6 hours later, and 12 hours later they let me complete the order. Could still get 2-3 week delivery, but pickup in my area was now totally unavailable.

A little frustrating that it seems like I could have gone through AT&T last night instead of Apple, and easily gotten launch day instead of November 17-24, even 45 minutes later. And it seems like the only difference between what I did and what people who got launch day through Apple did was pure luck of the draw.

My experience was 100% like yours. I completed my order for Nov 17-24, not to bad. Maybe it will get bumped up.

2:41 am. I checked the status in the morning and it said to wait for the email. I checked again around noon and it let me order. It said I wasn’t next eligible but I could pay in full and showed launch day delivery.

I saw it but blew right past it in my effort to secure and order. Essentially it was Apple saying "we have a phone reserved for you - we're just waiting on the carrier info since it's not available at this time (their servers are literally burning down)" and then they email you later when they have the info to complete the order. It keeps your place in line. I think it's completely new this year. I've never encountered it before.

Yeah, at least the reservation saved our spot in line. If I finally got in today and saw a February 2018 delivery date or something after hammering the preorder site in the first minute of availability, that would not have gone over well.

My current iPhone’s battery is rapidly dying though, so wanting launch day delivery wasn’t just a matter of wanting to be the first guy on my block with a shiny new toy. Now I might need to shell out money for some stopgap solution.

Received 2nd email and was able to finish order. Paid full price since already had used next upgrade on AT&T app. Nov 3 delivery. Oh well I’ll resale this one.
 
So I had canceled my order and tried to do the reservation- it wouldn’t give me the $699 2 year contract rate- so after about 2 more hours trying to get ahold of support to figure how to get the correct price. Finally after talking to 3 different people from Apple and 1 from Sprint- they told me that the reservation came in about the time I got the order placed- and it’d take 24 hours for the system to clear to get the $699 rate. And if it came in same time as order- wouldn’t save me in shipping- I gave up and reordered my phone- it was 5-6 weeks out from original order- so no difference there- just a waste of an afternoon!

Not any error other than system charging me full price for the phone- I ordered a Sprint 256gb Silver and 2 year contract price was $699- the reservation wouldn’t give me that price- and I didn’t want to pay $1149 for it when I could get it for $699 as an order. So I went ahead and just reordered the phone for the $699 and skipped the reservation process.

I could do something like that.. I had use my AT&T Next upgrade through Best Buy, had a pick up date by 11/3. And now I have a reservation in place in order from Apple to pay I’m full.

But I’d rather give someone my place then try to take advantage of up-selling to someone who missed out on it. Not indicating that’s what you’ll do... but if your going this route I’m confident that you might. I canceled my Best Buy order and awaiting to get my reservation updated to upgrade eligibility.
 
Oh great - I tried this at apple.com and I do NOT get the message that I have a pending reservation, although I have a reservation number. What does this mean?

I'm not going to buy two phones by finishing at apple.com, and if I have to wait 4-5 weeks to get one shipped, when I was in early enough to pick one up on the 3rd the first time I got the reservation, then I'll just wait and take my chances visiting the store a few times a week for a Verizon model to use on ATT (has more bands).

I finally got the email allowing me to complete my order by 12noon tomorrow. Even though the local Apple Store still had them for 11/3 pickup when I almost completed my order but got the ATT communication errors, mine will now have to ship in 2-3 weeks.

They didn't reserve mine for pickup on release day, even though I was pre-ordering and got the errors while they still had them. Thanks to ATT system not communicating with Apple, and Apple not selling them without a pre-existing phone line, I lost my 11/3 pickup date that I had reserved.

Now I have to decide if I want to finish the order and wait for an ATT version, or keep visiting the Apple store on the other end of town to pick one up for Verizon, to use with my ATT account (to have the extra CDMA bands in case I ever switch).

To be honest, if Apple had announced a replacement for my aging iPad Mini 4 LTE I'd be ordering that and sticking with my 1 year old 7+.

Add me to the list of those stuck in this reservation/ATT Next black hole of uncertainty. I confirmed my eligibility is fine by my attempts at getting an iPhone 8, but the iPhone X reservation page still gives me "Not eligible for AT&T Next". I REALLY hope they fix this before the reservation period is up. I partly blame myself for freaking out and doubling up the order, but who knew that canceling and getting that upgrade handshake to work out would be such a headache.
 
I got the reservation emails but when I click the link to complete the order, I get the following error:

"We’re sorry. We can’t find your reservation. Please verify your information and try again."

Has anyone else ran into this?

Yes I had this error too. Chatted with Apple support and they said they "are still having problems with the reservation system" and to "check back later and try again".
 
so the 2 'please complete pending reservations' I got this morning were received 7 hours apart (one was at 3am the other 11am). I got 'those pending reservation errors' about 2 minutes apart when i tried ordering on the apple store app (12:07am pst and 12:09am pst). thinking I was screwed, I placed orders with att with 11/3 delivery at around 2:15am PST. only difference is apple was 256gb space gray and att was in silver. I didn't want to take any chances so I am sticking with my att order because God knows when my AT&T next eligibility will be restored so I can order those space gray ones for 11/3 delivery. I guess whoever is next in line to my 2 space gray 256gb phones on the apple store line are lucky ...
