Same thing happened to me. Once you click to finish order. You see your delivery date and since I’m assuming you used your Next option when you ordered from AT&T you only get option to pay full price. I went ahead and paid full price. I already had 2 orders from AT&T on both of my lines via next.

I actually paid for it outright from ATT. Are you riding two orders from ATT and apple? Since I'm buying it outright can you order from both? This reservations thing has thrown me for a loop...
I guess I need to click on the link and see if I maintained Nov 3 pickup. Somehow I feel like the world will blow up once I click on the link lol.
 
A chat person just suggested calling in and preordering over the phone because of the reservation + at&t next fiasco.

Anybody have a trick to getting through on the phone? It hangs up on me every time I make it through the automated system.
 
I was supposed to get my pickup at the store at 11/3 when I ordered now I got pushed bCk to 2-3 weeks because of the reservation bullcrap. Omg so pisssedddd!!!!!!!!
Its only a phone, and what's a week or two. I know many of us like to be the first on the block to get the latest and greatest but by December, all of that will be forgotten and you'll have your phone.

Could not get in until 3:09. My delivery is 11/17 to 24th
Ok, I wonder where the problem occurred, Apple or the carrier(s). I guess it doesn't matter, at least Apple had a system in place and so you could be in line still, and not have to keep trying to buy it and fail.
 
I’m so pissed right now still... that’s unacceptable how they’re down and even lost my 11/3 pick up. Ugh
 
Just got off the phone with the apple sales team and was told that since I wasn't eligible for at&t next when the reservation was created (because of the panicked second order), there is no way to update the reservation. I can either pay full price or let it expire and preorder the regular way to get at&t next.

So my theory of the cached at&t next eligibility tied to reservations seems to be the case. Now to decide: pay full price (and maybe try to switch it to at&t next later on) or wait 6 weeks and do at&t next

Finally got on the site after a 10 minute delay...ran into the unable to reach AT&T problem and got the reservation notice.
Got that email from Apple at 5:21am. By 11:00am had not received the email to complete the order, so I made another order, delivery Dec 11-18. Pressed myself to not be concerned about it. Went shopping for food. Return about 2pm and saw that I got the email to complete my reservation. I did so and got my original delivery date of 17-24 Nov. Then I had two orders and I cancelled the delivery for Dec 11-18. Now I was happy. One thing I noticed is that reservation email says that Apple will contact your carrier, but when you get the email to complete your order you go through the same carrrier thing as you did when you got the reservation notice. It’s looks like on your first attempt to do an order and everyone else in the world is trying to do the same, if you fail to connect to the carrier a number of times, Apple holds your place and allows you get it done at another time so they can keep the line going. That’s a great thing that Apple has thought of.

Both orders were on tha same phone number. Apple most likely would have cancelled one of them if I did not do so immediately after I completed my original order.

I tried for about 45 minutes. When the machine asks what you're calling for say "purchase an iPhone for personal use without iPhone upgrade program" to get in the queue (or get auto disconnected) for the sales team.

So I finally got the second email to finish ordering the reservation. Typed in my Verizon info (which I know is correct) and again get

We're sorry. We can't find your account information with Verizon. Please verify your information and try again.

*sigh* Well done, Apple/Verizon. Two of the biggest companies in the world and you can't even talk to each other...in 2017.

I'll wait for it to get fixed until 30 minutes before the reservation expires tomorrow and probably buy it full price and just flip it. I need to make back some of the money I wasted on chat and trying to get through on the phone. And then just preorder with at&t next and wait it out. My wife's X preorder went through fine for Nov 3 so at least I'll have one to play with while waiting the 5-6 weeks.
 
Didn’t read through 22 pages so don’t know if anyone is similar to mine. Apple app came on line for me about 0003 pst and had both of my orders saved in favorites. I screwed up and added them both to the bag and had to delete my phone so my wife’s order would go through. Went through and received email confirmation at 0006.

Went back and got mine in the bag and started the check out and got the communication error and reserved screen. Screen shot it and went back and tried again for my phone. This time I guess they were able to get through to at&t and order was confirmed at 0009 via email.

Got the reserved email at 0243 pst and then the link email at 1103. Checked it out and it only will let me buy it full price. I got the at&t next email confirmations on both phones at 0412 and 0437 on my wife’s and mine. My wife’s has already gone to preparing to ship while mine is still processing. Both have pending charges on the card used. So I’m assuming that the second time it all went through on mine and I’m all set. I’ll let the reserved phone expire and hopefully it bumps someone waiting up a few days or a week.

Did you get email confirmation from Apple when you preordered the phone last night? I thought I read a post that said if you got email confirmation with a Order # that is prefixed with a ‘W’ then there is no need to concern yourself with the reservation fiasco.
 
For those with alternate orders with a potential later date:

If your plan has more than one eligible line that can be upgraded:

1. Log into reservation link from 2nd email using reservation number and phone number of the line you requested and are now double parked on.

2. That will take you to a landing page with the phone number prefilled in asking for zip and last 4 of social. CHANGE the phone number to you eligible 2nd device.

3. Book the phone there. Even if you don't intend to upgrade that line. Once you have phone in hand, you can straighten out what phone goes where.

4. Don't cancel either order until you have a phone in hand.

This worked for me earlier. It allowed me to keep my 11/3 phone on my line and move the reservation to my wife's line to get her an 11/3 phone as well.

I have this problem too. How exactly do you login into the reservation link through the second email? What is the second email?

I did preorder between the time the app told me something was being reserved and the time the reservation emails came in. I received the email confirmation and it showed up on the online order status. That order was for 2-3 week delivery and at&t next. I canceled that order as soon as the apple store website let me do so.

So should I not have canceled the order?

You could also buy it outright. Once received. Go to Apple and see if you can return it only to purchase it through AT&T Next. I’m not sure if they would consider it preowned.
 
I originally chose in store pickup for November 3 but got the reservation email. When the 2nd email came for me to order, in store pickup wasn’t available anymore. Only option was to choose delivery in 2-3 weeks.

Oh well, I guess it’s better than waiting until December.

For the people who couldn't book via Apple this morning because Apple couldn't communicate with the carriers (because everyone was slammed), Apple gave a reservation number to save your place line.

They sent 2 emails.

First titled, "Your Iphone has been reserved," and 2nd email titled, "Important information about your IPhone."

The first email gave you your reservation number and the 2nd notified you that you could try again to order your phone with the same place in line as this morning.

This happened to me as well. Two separate numbers on my Verizon account. Both, said they were reserved for 11/3 and I would receive an email. I haven't received an email on either of them yet.
 
Ok guys I basically finally got thru with Apple customer support. Bottom line: they can't do anything. Still pissed about that. However, they are expediting my order to 2-3 day shipping and bumped ship date to 11/15-11/22 from the original Standard shipping 11/17-24. Also, they are giving me a free leather case.

Still pissed, but I'm less pissed now.

Same happened to me - bumped from 11/3 to 11/17=24 due to Apple ATT incompetent software and communication > reservation
 
I keep typing in my reservation number and an error pops up that my reservation can’t be found.

Anyone having the same issue?
