Apparently these pics show a NFC chip.

There goes the rumour about anti-reflective glass.

What do you mean? Every iPhone ever sold has had that feature. You can really see the difference between a brand new one and an old one, because the anti-reflective coating rubs off a bit with normal wear and tear.

Also, this guy has a screen protector of some kind fitted (perhaps just the one that comes with all displays to avoid damage in shipping) so you cannot judge how effective the anti-reflective coating is. (Notice the red tag off the bottom in some photos, and the clear edge lining around the camera/speaker)

Back on topic - it looks like the LCD is significantly closer to the edge than the 4/4S display. Nice!

"Note: Watermarks have been obscured due to political statements contained within them."

Shame on you MacRumors!

Isn't a watermark put their for a reason?

Isn't this akin to covering up or editing a copyright mark in/on a photo?

Show it ALL or don't show it at all.

It's not anything like editing out a copyright watermark. It's just some trash put on there to inflame Japanese people. If you want to know what it says click to see the original, or see post #65 for the explanation.

Hey folks... We all missed it... The NFC chip... The silver square at the top of the back of the screen....
Yeay!
:apple:

Oh yes what he said a few comments above...

"I am not going to believe unless I will see it announced by Apple sometime in September or October. There are so many speculations about this topic and 99% of them will turn out to be fake anyway.

I still want to believe that we will get iPhone with slightly bigger screen. It is the only thing that I want to be changed from the current iPhone

The oleophobic coating on the iPhone's screen is for repelling oil from your fingers. It does not (as far as I know) have any kind of real anti-reflective coating.

Could this be the iPod Touch instead of the new iPhone?

with an earpiece?

also, i knew they would go back to 2 piece sceens, this is great! repairs for my customers will be much cheaper since glass is the only thing that needs to be replaced!

cant wait to tear this puppy apart!

So, it's about to begin... the 6th generation of its flagship product...

The pictures seems realistic, so I have no doubt that this must be the actual component for the new iPhone which will see a public announcement on September 12th.

But honestly, OMG! I'm so eager to see the public launch of the next iPhone. I'm losing my patience like never before I tell you!

COME ON APPLE! Show us that beautiful phone of yours! :D

Eh? Never heard of this before. And wouldn't you always see a border of "coating" still there on an old phone on the areas that are almost never touched like the bezel or around the cameras and home button? I've never noticed such a difference in the surface. I've also never really narrowed down a removal of the oleophobic coating by the same token.

I'll take the 128GB model thank you.

Have been waiting for that one also:)

Black that is!

Since I am always between release cycles, maybe ATT once again offers an early upgrade option.

Also, with all these leaks , if discovered maybe some workers will be asked to jump out the windows?

Obviously the leaking is done for money.

Conspiracy theorists may think Apple leaks these to keep people from buying Androids etc.

But, that theory doesn't make sense. The typical consumer masses don't read MR or similar blogs.

They go to a store and buy what is there.

Is it for sure an NFC chip? Can anyone confirm this?

With my experience in NFC chips (I have written master thesis in NFC mobile ticketing) my guess is "yes". NFC chips are usually made in square format and all those I come in contact with (mobile related) are about this size.

You'd be amazed how many people either do or has a friend that does that will go "hey... apple's gonna come out with something really cool..." just the other day when I was at my parents my mom asked me if I was going to get the new longer iPhone that the news was talking about. so, I think there rumors trickle to the general nonfanyboy populous easily

It looks like we're going back to the old method (3G, 3GS) of attaching the lcd to the glass with frame & screws as opposed to gluing it on. Makes for a much easier and cheaper repair, just have to replace the glass. The 4/4S you have to replace the entire glass and lcd assembly. I cant wait to get one and tear it apart!

That is bad news to a lot people who hate dust particles in between the glass and the LCD. I'm one of those people so I prefer the fused glass of th 4 and 4S.
