A pic of Ratchet on my 65" OLED on HDR mode:

doesn't really do justice, but its beautiful!

From a picture alone I can tell that's beautiful. Wow.

OMG!! Even older games patched WOW. Infamous Second Son looks absolutely stunning with HDR & Higher Res and Antialiasing .... If you haven't played the game, its definitely worth picking up on PSN store during sales (I've seen it for $10) and on the Pro its really worth a replay.

That game looked amazing on the first play through, probably my favorite on PS4 in terms of looks. I can only imagine now.

That looks good enough to eat wow!

I've spent ~$3 to $5k on TVs before, always when it was the latest and greatest, will not do that again lol. First was a gigantic Sony XBR projection, then a 42" Panasonic "EDTV" 480P plasma which was $4k, then a 50" Panasonic 720P for $3500. No never again.

I spent 1950+tax haha! At the end of the summer. Zing. :p

It was a lot of money but a steal for how much it cost earlier this year and keeps me happy with ridiculous floating picture and infinite blacks, won't be buying another tv for at least 4 years and hopefully way longer. That's how long I have warranty for (got an extended plan on top of it for peace of mind)

Also, just barely over a base touch bar 13" retina model if we want to rationalize in apple pricing terms

I've never spent more than 700 bucks on a tv before that. But also have a 55" oled 1080p that was 1000 bucks even in the beginning of the year. Sold off old 700 tv (that was just regular led) for enough of the original price to offset getting the 65"

Also got my PS4 pro 10 percent off at target using a wishlist coupon. Woo

I'm a slickdealer

I don't mind the DS4 controller, and I ordered a used one of the 20th anniversary OG playstation color scheme:

BUT!!!!

i really want to use my xbox one elite controller still, so i researched a bunch and just ordered a 10 foot micro usb cable, and a brook xb1 to ps4 controller adapter, (mine will be pink not dark green, because its cheaper and just works with xb1 vs xb1 and 360 controllers)

has to be wired to work, but I'll deal :D

I settled for Samsung's curved 65" Quantum Dot display. Very impressed. The Pro really shines through HDR and 4K. Next on the list is Watch Dogs 2. Dishonored 2 looks great.

You guys are really convincing me to take the plunge when I had zero urge to get rid of my pS4 but I am truly concerned the value on the PS4 is set to plummet here soon so $150 may be the best I can get for it.

Take the plunge! I preordered Watch Dogs 2
Today to test drive on my Pro. From my understanding, the $150.00 trade in is good through December. However, the caveat I heard today was if GameStop received a large abundance of PS4's, that could drop the value considerably before the December deadline. Basically, who knows how long then the trade in value will last.

I am planning to meet someone from FB to sell it for $200 as I finally got a nibble. Now let's see if they show up and if the transaction goes smoothly. I am doing it at the police station as I always do.

Best of luck

The good: I feel pretty confident the transaction will go well as we have been talking on FB the last couple of nights.
The bad: looked in all surrounding area Targets and now they are all sold out. :(

Target is doing the 10% off for the Wish List and also another 5% with the Red Card.

I dont want to settle for Best Buy so may save the cash for now and then wait for them to get back in stock. Damn timing!!!

Do you have the 500GB or 1TB model PS4 you are selling? $200.00 is good. Let us know if you were able to sell it.

It was a launch day 500gb. No games included. Priced it at $200 thinking I'd get low balled and didn't surprisingly. Enjoying the new FB integration of sales as well as the normal community groups to make sales.

Very nice guy buying for his nephew and I do all of my transactions at the Police department as a layer of safety.

Didn't trust Target online and checked BrickSeeker and sure enough, 3 Pros in stock. Walked in, did the 10% off wish list, 5% Red Card and applied the $200 from the sale.

All in all less than $150 for a Pro? Can't complain. Busy family day though so I can't set it up right now. :(

Not bad at all. Private resale was a choice for me. But then again I was trading in other hardware at GameStop and it was easier. And you were fortunate to find a good buyer. Craigslist can be lucrative, but convenience is nice with GameStop.

Remember...Gaming comes first...Uhh...I meant family. /Sarc.

GameStop does come in handy every once in a while! I don't care for them in general but

i traded my fatty xb1, kinect, and some other random stuff and after selling included madden, paid $50 out of pocket to get the slim 1tb

woulda never sold it otherwise, privately. it was super scratched up and battery doors were from rechargeable 3rd party packs, they still accepted it!

Are you all running the PS4Pro on a 4K set?

Anyone running it on a 1080P?

Kinda weird - you would think the price would drop around the holidays for used ones at GS (STILL $270).

I can remember only seeing one Back Friday Ad for the PS4 Slim for $249, I know that Target didn't publish their price for BF, and you have to use their Cartwheel App to get the deal on it.

Is it something Sony is doing? I know they don't want to de-value their consoles by putting them on "the cheap" like MS is doing with the XBox One S.... ;)

Agreed. GameStop staff is inconsistent and not always knowledgeable in areas where they should be. You would think a proprietary Gaming store would be able to answer simple questions and be assertive in areas, when in fact they're not. Not every store is like this. I have one really good GameStop with knowledgeable staff.

Is anyone utilizing a universal remote control for their consoles when you are in entertainment mode if you will?

I have:
An Apple TV remote
XB one remote
Tv remote
Sound bar remote
PS4 remote

Anyone have recommendations that work with all of these????

Thanks!

Actually, in Best Buy's entertainment center, they have a whole array of remotes showing a catalog of what will program as a combination.

So I caved to a crazy Slickdeals Target sale and ordered a PS4 Pro. Now I just need to decide if I will keep my original PS4 and put it in a second room or sell on craigslist.

We'll see how remote play to Mac is on the Pro vs Original. Apparently it is improved from 720p to 1080p resolution, but that is not as important as frame rate. Remote play is about 100ms latency on original PS4 (or loss of about 6 frames/sec), which is noticeable and unacceptable to me on most games I play. If remote play latency improves, I can sell the old PS4, otherwise, I will probably keep.

At the physical stores or is this somewhere online?

In store only. My local Best Buy is a new Gen Store with a Home Theater Room. That's where the catalog and remotes are. The remote I have controls all my accessories and units. Pricey, but worth it. If you are seeking assistance, hopefully your store actually has someone of knowledge who can assist you.

I almost kept my original PS4, but then realized the trade value at GameStop was tempting, considering it was an original launch day console. The other reason I sold it was after Christmas, the value will really drop.

Widespread reports of serious compatibility issues with many 4k devices due to HDCP handshaking issues with the pro.
Also reports of actually WORSE performance on 1080p for some games, as reported by Digital Foundry.
Shaky start for the Pro, I hope things improve soon...

I spent about 3200 on a 50" Sony Bravia LCD in 2006. Not even top of the line in its class. You can buy better TVs at that price range and get something of the same size for a mere pittance now. These days it's better to wait for a tear-down report to see who the panel is made by and what type of hardware is on its board to make an informed decision in addition to overall quality.
