My i9/32gb just arrived, I'll wait for test results in the next couple of days before opening the box. If it really changed it for the better and the i9 is consistently performing better than the i7, I may keep it else its still going back

On the 12th at 21:00, live near Amsterdam, the Netherlands. My first delivery estimate was on the 20th but on the 19th it got delayed till today.

I will say that having this thing in front of you does make it harder to take it back :)

In a little less than 4 hours, my laptop will be making landfall in Anchorage, AK, and mark its 1st steps in the USA. After that, I just have to wait for 3 more business to get it in my hands and play with it this weekend, wish it would get here on Thursday instead of Friday, but I can't change the shipping speed now. Just have to wait.

Industrial Design, Apple's design asthetic is world's apart from everyone else that is for sure. One look at a Macbook Pro and comparing it to the PC competition, hard to look back...

So many MacBooks coming to Canada :) there's a batch reference number in tracking detail and it shows all the items in that batch.

How did you do this? I mean pull up these items that are all in batch? Which number is the batch reference #? Interesting.

You need to signup for UPS account to see detailed view of your shipment. You need to verify your address to complete account verification.

Then you see list of Reference Numbers. I see 7 and one of them is batch reference number.

Well now it is showing it was still in Shanghai at 11:54PM, meaning it isn't on the flight to Memphis.

There is another flight heading from Shanghai to Oakland. I hope it is on that flight.

haha.. may be they forgot to pickup your thunderbolt cable. I think my MBP is in same batch/flight.

Well in 2 or so hours we will know if this plane is at Anchorage or not. IMHO, Flightradar24 is more accurate with the location of planes than Flightaware. We will know shortly.

Or it may be the pilot messing with you :)

That picture that you screenshotted is the "estimated" location of the plane. Who knows where it actually is. If the location was precise, Flightaware wouldn't put the word "ESTIMATED" in caps like they did over that flight.

This is comical to watch from an outsider's perspective, but must be torturous for you. You sir, have my sympathy. Console yourself with the following story:

I too, was ultra eager to receive my 18 core iMac Pro. I had ordered it on launch day, and had to wait months to get it. When the day finally did come, I had my ears so perked up for the office doorbell that I was standing every time it rang. My office doorbell almost never rings, but my coworkers got entertainment out of me shooting out of my cubicle for the door every time it did. So a few of them would ring the doorbell on their way in just to mess with me.

Not funny at the time, hilarious now.

I hope you get your laptop soon.

This is so much fun. Ok I think pilot read your message and now they are going back to route. I told you they are messing with you. :)

Still processing ... my delivery date still says the 24th (today) - 31st. Boy would I like an update. Anything is better than the same screen I've seen since the 14th.

Same boat as me ... still processing which is annoying, no pending charges. mine sais 26th - 2nd aug, mate ordered same as me 12 hours before and his is arriving 26th (had all the despatch/UPS info)

I was worried over nothing. Basically, I learned my lesson. The plane was in the blackout zone where transponders from either continents couldn't locate the plane. As soon as the plane reached the AK coast, the US transponders picked up the plane and it is back on track!

When you buy MBP you learn so much about aviation industry too. Totally worth spending $5K :)

There’s blackout zones for planes :(:eek: remind me to not fly that route

You could say that I am also an aviation enthusiast. I love watching the aviation crash documentaries, like the excellent Air Crash Investigation/Mayday series on Discovery Channel/National Geographic. There was a Northwest Airlines flight, NW 85 (Detroit > Narita), that had issues. When it tried to radio back AK for emergency services, it couldn't because it was in this blackout zone. It was only through the help with another nearby aircraft that relayed NW 85's message that air traffic controllers at Anchorage got the message and prepared the necessary services and diversions.

Thankfully the plane landed ok at Anchorage, but it was a crazy story.

Does your shipment information from UPS show that your MBP made it to Anchorage? Hope you have good news.
