Basically 10 minutes away from landing. I was gonna post 10 minutes from now when the plane has landed, but now you know. 🙂

Yeah, exactly. The plane has to get to the UPS port at Anchorage. The contents have to be unloaded for customs clearance. Then we get updated. So yeah. Some time.

Since my laptop isn't scheduled to be delivered till Friday, I am guessing it is going to board one of these flights Wednesday night and not tonight.

Yeah, that's what mine did (stay on the same plane to Louisville). Mine went through customs in Louisville, since it will continue moving I'm guessing yours will too
 
I haven’t done this for awhile—my last computer order was my MBP Late 2008. I’m super excited to be upgrading as it appears my 2008 has 1.5 cores in the grave.

I received a shipping notification this afternoon from Apple. It is coming via FedEx, and is supposed to arrive Friday. It currently says it is in transit and left the origin facility in Shanghai at 7:36 on 7/24/18.

I want to play along, too, but I’m afraid not quite as clever as the rest of you. How do I figure out what plane it is on?! TIA

Mine must be sitting right next to yours. Same specs (except SSD size) and ordered on July 19th with expedited shipping. I originally had the Before 10:30AM on Wednesday estimate, but that changed to Thursday after it appeared to miss the Shanghai -> Memphis flight. Fedex at the same time changed the "Ship date" on mine to "Tue 7/24/2018" when the tracking shows it was quite clearly picked up at 10:33am Mon 7/23/2018 and then shows a "Package received after FedEx cutoff" at 10:22pm on 7/23. Oh well.

Did not realize there was a Shanghai -> Oakland flight.

Did you get a message along the lines of "Cleared customs" or "Export Scan"? If not, then it might not have boarded a plane yet. These are the only Fedex flights that I have found that have left Shanghai and are airbound:

Mine was practically ordered on July 19th too... since I ordered it at about 10:30pm PST on July 18th. Does your say it was last "in transit" like mine? at 11:54?

Also i am wondering if the "International Shipment release - Import" is the same as UPS "Export Scan"?

I can't imagine yours would go to Oakland rather than straight to Memphis? But there many flights from Oakland to Memphis and other places. So maybe? We shall see tonight!

No, the “Left FedEx origin facility” is the last update. I guess it will go through that tomorrow—hopefully. I’m glad to see yours is now progressing well!

This might then mean that it left a Fedex Drop off shop in Shanghai and making its way to Shanghai International Airport. So yeah, not on a plane yet. Probably and most likely, tomorrow it will be on a plane. Good luck! Thanks!

That's quite a coincidence lol. Yeah I'm going to Christiana Mall on Saturday. I'm from Southeastern Pennsylvania, a little north of Philly. Decided to go to Christiana for tax free!!!
 
Here we go! On to SDF/Louisville for the final leg of the trip. Not long now. Takeoff at 3:51 pm local time, Anchorage, AK. Expecting "Departure Scan" to say something like 3:30 pm Anchorage, AK.

I'm assuming so. If it was some sort of pre-clearance for US customs I would assume the info on the Clearance Detail Link page would be populated. It is blank on mine.

I was holding out hope the "In transit" scans were really departure scans for the flight to the US, but I'm pretty sure that isn't the case. I guess I will find out when I wake up!

I couldn't find any flights that match up with the Departure Scan that you mentioned. I'm pretty sure it is making its way to the Airport if not, it is already at the airport waiting for the next flight to Memphis.

UPS 81 has made it successfully to SDF/Louisville. The home stretch now folks! Just one more flight to CA! Arrival time: 1:13 AM EST

Expected scan: "Arrival Scan" Louisville, KY 1:35 AM - 2:15 AM EST

I wish mine was on that flight 😀 Still waiting to get past “Preparing to Ship”... I am too excited to have patience. I have always been this way about order deliveries.

Did you see my earlier post about how I freaked out I was about about this flight? Freaking ridiculous! So embarrassed!

I have good news! The flight I thought my package missed from Shanghai to Memphis, it was on!

I have an arrival scan at 12:30AM in Memphis, TN. - Arrival at FedEx Location

I am hoping it jumps on a plane tonight to Ontario or LA.

Flight FDX1438 goes from Memphis to Ontario leaving at 3:06am and arrives at 4:31am. Here hoping!
