Your last point is amusing though. You realize Trump won the electoral vote - not the popular? I don't say that as a reason why Hillary should have won. You've seen the protest marches? Tell me again whose values has the majority?
See, right there tells me which news sources you are watching. The popular vote is a joke and the reason why we have the electoral college. Take a close look at the map. Most of her votes that put her over the top were in New York and California. Those two states do NOT represent the rest of the country. Just because she won the popular vote doesn't mean a thing. Next thing your going to tell me is that when the baseball world series is played, we are going to need to start only counting the total number of runs over the 7 games instead of which team won each game.

News flash: The republicans own the house, senate, presidency and most of the governorships. The liberal snowflake way of thinking is NOT what most people want in this country. As soon as you realize that, you will be a much happier person.

I watch a variety of news sources. Both the left and the right so I can make informed opinions. It's time to stop arguing about the election and election process. Right now it's irrelevant. Trump is President. This has been my point. What he's doing (or not doing) is the focus. If you think the left is acting out of "spite" for the election, you are not paying attention. The Republicans "own" everything and yet it's still big ole clusterf@#$ right now, isn't it? And my opinion is that you're wrong. I think there are many things the left AND right want and Trump and his administration are not providing that. If you think Trump speaks for the majority - it tells me which news sources or social networks you are watching. See what I did there?

The idiot in the White House is surrounded by those who are advising him to do everything that will make their wealthy donors richer.

WHAT. A. JERK.

The irony being the the big baby complains about some made up intrusion of his privacy but then signs an order giving away everyone's private data. The hypcrisy stinks like a bad trump wafting through the air

So what exactly did the order say and do ? Please tell me.

This makes sense as soon as my broadband is free in the US. Telecoms are double dipping in this case and aren't even asking permission to disseminate data. All US residents should get VPN.
[doublepost=1491308317][/doublepost]

You can opt out of using Google, you can't choose to not have an Internet connection unless you want to be a hermit.

Which ones are double dipping ? It appears most claim that they don't.

Oh, but that doesn't coincide with the liberal agenda, so we will ignore it.

Curious to know, at what point will 'using a VPN' be synonymous with 'evasion of law enforcement'?

As of right now, using a VPN is not illegal. But, I suspect any form of 'hiding' may soon be.

Also, we may want to consider that lawmakers must've known this repel would force many to use VPN services. Do you think they own stock in those companies? Or are they funneling traffic for another reason?

There're not funneling traffic. Again, nothing has changed. Most people don't realize that Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime detect when you're using a VPN and won't work.

You do realize that spying at the ISP level is orders of magnitude more invasive than mining your Google queries? We are talking your entire browser history, not just requests to google.com.

How's that ???

Yeah... I guess I can opt out of Google, but hard to opt out of searching... and I'm sure Bing, yahoo and the rest of them do the same as google when it comes to using your search info.

Since Trump is just stopping a law that has not taken affect yet, doesn't that mean that things stay the same as they are now? This all seems like a "sky is falling" discussion when in reality it's a "the sky is the same as it was yesterday" situation.

More than 50% of the voters in the following states voted for Hillary Clinton.

California
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware
D.C.
Hawaii
Illinois
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Nevada
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Oregon
Rhode Island
Vermont
Virginia
Washington

Donald Trump did NOT receive more than 50% of the votes in the following states - in addition to the above states.

Arizona
Florida
Michigan
North Carolina
Pennsylvania
Utah
Wisconsin

Trump received 46% of the total votes cast. That’s about what his approval rating is now, but that can slide down even further.

Remember, all Pelosi and others like her want are more power and control. They'll try to disguise their true motives to make it look like they're "protecting" the American people; but it's all about getting more power for themselves.
Let me flip that argument, 'power held by the government' doesn't line the pocket of politicians, it's the power to the corporations that lines the pockets of politicians.

One can guess who benefits from less regulations, it's not the common man.

Well not around me....I don't live in the "US of Trump", thanks god.
ha ha ha... good for you. me neither :) but i have quite a few in fb (and brexiteers) and not surprisingly, they overlap quite a bit in their mindset :p

Right now Trump is dreaming of a 46% approval rating. His isn't even close.

Obama just looked into people secretly. This is better and more open and honest about what's really going on. Unless you fall for the crap politicians say vs what they actually do.

Please produce a basis and equivalence of comparing how Obama who supported internet privacy, is worse than Trump who killed it? It's beyind logic. Are you a Trumpet?

That pic of Pelosi cracks me up. Once; just once, I'd like to see a politician - any party will do - NOT cherry pick facts and present the whole story. I'm so tired of half truths, partial facts and outright lies. You can't even call this garbage spin anymore - it's just willful omission with the intent to deceive.

Back to how it was in October. The horror /s

See also the FCC rules that were designed to take effect in Dec. The implementation of this last year effectively prevented this kind of activity from ISP's. So, it is not really the same as Oct.

"For end users, the repeal of the law effectively maintains the status quo because it was not enacted before being shuttered"

These rules have been in effect since the beginning of commercial internet access. If you're freaking out about them now, what's wrong with you?

And, why is the press such a basket of morons? They've been reporting the wrong facts since this started.

Are we great yet? Hair Furor is on a roll...

Just outfitted the family with nordvpn.

How about staying/going back on target. Do you think this repeal is a good thing? Do you think ISPs should be able to sell your info?

I think the law should have been expanded to everyone, not just ISP's. What good does it do to prevent the ISP from spying on me (and trust me in a day of HTTPS, they don't see much short of what IP you're heading to (or if clever they can build a transparent HTTPS proxy and strip off SNI and get at least the URL)) when Google, Facebook, Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc. are all doing the same thing with way more targeted information. Either enact a privacy rule that protects us against them all, or forget it and let the states choose what to do.

P.S. And before you respond with you can choose not to use Google, Facebook, Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc. Name some companies that aren't doing exactly this that you could still use on the internet? As if they aren't, they're out of business as not many people are willing to pay a company to avoid them spying on them for "advertising" purposes.

If you didn't have VPN before the policy was enacted, why are you doing it now?

Because I value privacy. I recognize that many people are ok with what the government is doing, but after leak after leak of our information, my summer project to remove as many accounts as possible and protect my information as much as possible.

Ahh, the VPN crowd. Have you fully vetted your VPN provider to make sure they aren't inspecting your data? Have you vetted their ISP? I hope you are dropping off cash into a cardboard box in a alley somewhere, otherwise, they know who you are.
