[PS3] Far Cry 3: 9.0

Fantastic game, loved the island and the gameplay. Story was not flawless, but a huge step up from Far Cry 2. Lots to explore and many fun activities, I never got bored in the roughly 50 hours I put in.

Only drawbacks for me were the few parts where gun-heavy action was forced upon you and there was no option to play stealthy. That, and the two "boss fights", which were just stupid and really not fun.

Overall though, a fantastic experience, one of my favorite current gen games!

Now, I'm after the platinum trophy - only trophies left are the coop maps and the "takedown from above from zipline or paraglider"...I have a feeling that last one will be a bitch! :D

Continuing my trend of playing games from a few years ago. I finished Resistance 3 on PS3. I would give it a 6/10.

I really had to push through to finish the campaign, which is pretty much all I ever play now in FPS games. The first 3/4ths of the game was very bland, I don't remember a single exciting/unique part. The last quarter (the NYC part) reminded me a lot of the Halo series, in tone and especially in art direction. This really saved the game from being a 4/10 game.

I was never that crazy about the Resistance series, I liked them just enough to finish.

Now I'm working on Dead Rising 2. I loved the first on XBox 360, I thought it had great depth for a game that on initial impressions is just a zombie slasher. I'm hoping the second keeps it going.

Call of Duty Ghosts

I didn't really finish it, but I'm done with it. What a load of ****.

Yeah I'm playing it now and concur... What is the big deal about COD ? Seriously I've played them all and just don't get any enjoyment. I keep trying the new one simply because I feel maybe it's me, maybe I'm doing something wrong, the next one will reveal why this is one of the biggest franchises ever... And every time I'm utterly underwhelmed.

as it brutal story, proven control scheme, and gameplay have not backed down from what the game is supposed to be: room after room of enemies with plenty of gore, language and self loathing towards his addiction to alcohol and meds.

I myself was tired of it and thought it was quite long, but that makes it a better buy for the money. It can be very tough, and the collectibles make it fun, but I am not motivated enough to do so like I was with the Batman series.

Agree on COD, got more and more underwhelmed as the franchise has gone on.

Speaking of FPS, enjoying Killzone for PS4 though purely for the integration of its new features like uses touchpad for the OWL, light bar on controller shows health status, speaker plays audio recordings etc.

The Last of Us = 9/10

It's not my GOTY but it was still an amazing game with addicting gameplay, great character development, and excellent pacing.

Postal 2 - 7.5/10

Postal 2...

So many things to talk about.. but to start this game is awesome!

Now before you buy this game be aware that is EXTREMELY violent and you be get offend by.

About the game, is truly awesome, a sandbox style game with a lot to explore and do like cut someone head and play Catch with your dog! - laughs-

This game has aged considerably well, considering it was made in 2003. However, its age does show.

The gameplay, controls, and combat are fine, i mean at the this was made with was excellent, on our days these ones are fine, work good for me so yeah.

Now the comedy, the highlight of this game and the main reason i wanted to play so bad. You have several jokes about everything; corrupt priests, cops, stereotypical Islamic terrorists, religious cults, cannibals, rednecks so you won't get bored.

For me, the major downfall was the story missions, to boring to do and mainly because you take to long to reach from point A to point B.

I strongly recommend you to play this game, and go pee on your boss and put someone on fire!

(PC) Shadowrun Returns: Dean Man's Switch 7.5/10

IMO quite a fun game, especially for it's price. I agree with many reviews that the checkpoints are too far between, the story is mediocre but intriguing, and the artwork is phenomenal. For some reason I kept coming back to it to finish, and with fan DLC to give you new game+ and many more stories, this is a great buy. I would not recommend the tablet version due to the checkpoint/save system.

PC Dead Pixels - 5/10

It seems like fashion is making zombies/survival games, and i'm fine with that as long they are good - give props to L4D2 and DayZ - but then we get games like Dead Pixels. The concept is good non less, is a side scrolling retro style zombies, and i'm a sucker for side scrolls, but the game is really bad!

The gameplay can get a bit repetitive and boring, sure it has some nice parts where you can kills all the zombies and escape but is all that. It has 3 games modes - Dead Pixels, The Solution e Last Stand - but they are all pretty much the same. Dead Pixels is the main game mode, it contains a story although is a very weak.

I really love the old school graphics and also the OST fits with the game.

If you have a spare change to spend pick this game when is on sale, if not, don't bother getting it.

Bioshock 2. 8

I liked it, great game, ending was a little confusing, but game play was great, and now I'm ready for Bioshock Infinite

Knack PS4

Yes the ferried down a corridor punching enemies is old school.

In many ways Knack itself is old school. It's fundamentally an 8 bit game in a sexy modern makeover. The problem for many is that the cosmetic makeover didn't change any of the old school gaming rules that have been refined and improved upon since classic 8 and 16 bit platformers.

Knack story kept me going however and it is very well thought out leaving no gaping holes in plot and playing out like raiders of lost arc mixed with mysterious cities of gold.

Anyone looking to Knack to define the new generation were justifiably disappointed.

However taken as an old school game in new clothes with a pretty great Saturday morning matinee story which was well acted and voiced won't be too disappointed.

Knack an essential purchase ? NO

Knack, a guilty pleasure ? You betcha.

7/10 it doesn't attempt to be great, but it does tell a great story and there have been much worse launch titles :)

[PC] Guacamelee! Gold Edition - 9/10

Guacamelee is a platformer side scroll - a genre that i really enjoy - here in play the role of Mexican fighter, and he will save his sweetheart, and fight against some weird but fun enemies.

Guacamelee is very enjoyable game but is bit hard to play, the combos sometimes don't do well also the controls don't respond on exact time. Also i HIGHLY recommend you play this game with a controller, because with keyboard and mouse you will get a though time.

Story is very typical, hero saving the day, rescuing is girl and all bad guys are defeated, but is still fun to play, also this game have a really good jokes between the main charterer and is "mentor".

The combat system is the highlight for me, very good very nice combos, also during the story mode you will get new techniques and ability to help during your journey. Best of all, if you have friend in your house at any time he can join you - yes because this game doesn't support online COOP - and help you on your journey.

Both OST and scenarios are great, the OST really fits the gameplay in general, Mexican and stuff and scenarios are full of colors and well design. About the replay value on this game, you have two choices: after beating the final boss you can collect the rest of the mask and do the side quests witch are few, about 5/6 or you can try the hard mode, witch can be a good challenge.

Well that it, with no doubt Guacamelee deserve every cents that you spend on it. Totally recommend it.

[PC] Spelunky - 7.5/10

A truly changeling platform game! In Spelunky we are a little adventure that will go though many areas - mines, ice caves, jungle - and will try to survive.

To start this game is extremely hard but at same time is additive but is also annoying - laughs - because we have small portion of healthy and if you get hit - also depends what hit you - you will die instantly, and let's say are pretty much on the end and you die you need to start from the begging.

One good thing related to the levels is none are the same, every time you play a different level will show up, it's a good thing since the are only 4 levels.

The biggest downfall is the missing of online COOP, would be much better "dying" with a friend than alone.

A few I finished these last few months:

GTA V
8/10
I'm a big fan of the franchise so no real surprise that I really liked this edition. The three protagonists is the great idea this time around, each having great personality, but the real star is the map itself. When I started playing I must have driven around it twice before even starting the missions. Lighting and art direction are especially superb, which makes me think it will age even better that previous editions. Dialog was great too.
I'm taking two points out for the mission system that I feel could have been refreshed a bit further, although I have no opinion on exactly how they could go about that. Yes those towing missions were pretty annoying, rescued only by the dialogs during the driving around, and I actually have no idea why it's even an option to invest in that business. Also annoying is the garage system as those are often too far from characters' safe houses.
I don't play much multiplayer in general, but GTA Online is pretty fun.

Fallout 3
7/10
Had tried to get into Fallout 1 and 2, but I find game mechanics are really outdated now and it makes it hard for me to get into the games. Got Fallout 3 on Steam summer sale, basically thinking I was only going to play a couple of hours to try it out... How wrong I was!
I thought the opening was epic. First time I got out of the vault I started wandering around the wasteland and got demolished by basically anything that spotted me, I realised this game doesn't ******* around. This made me stick to the game for 70+ hours, slowly building up my character, exploring, scavenging, etc.
Characters like Three Dog and his radio station stayed with me for a long time. I would hum the tunes in the subway on the way to work and plan were I would next go using a map I printed, so that's a sign of a great experience that I hadn't felt in a while in a game. Some of the vaults are epic as well, short but sweet and twisted in a most excellent way. Some of the NPC interactions were equally excellent.
I unfortunately have to take three points off though. Firstly I felt there was a lot of repetition in the enemy characters. Before even the half way point you've encountered every possible combination of enemy, and it gets a bit mechanical to defeat them after a while. I felt some of the story fell flat towards the end also (without spoiling, the father character). I also feel it's a bit long. I don't regret the 70+ hours I put into it, but it basically means I won't go back to it or finish any of the DLC that was part of the GOTY edition. I would have appreciated more licensed music as those radio tunes were epic, and more variety would have been good.

Civilization V + Gods & Kings + Brave New World
9/10
Already one of my favourite games of these last few years (Steam tells me I have over 200 hours on this one). It's great that element of strategy was brought in to the franchise with the one unit per tile versus the old "stack as many units as you possibly can" tactic.
This summer I got the two DLC packs and I find they both expand certain aspects that were underused in the first version. Gods & Kings brings a great customisable bonus system, and I was already a fan of cultural victories so Brave New World is a most welcome addition.

Max Payne 3
7/10
Mostly enjoyed it because of the narrated dialog which was a true homage to film noir but with that extra Rockstar edge and profanity. Controls and mechanics were solid. All around enjoyable game, although it goes a bit too over the top at the end.

[PC] Orcs Must Die! - 7/10

An excellent Tower Defense, in Orc Must Die our goal is to kill orcs. The concept is simple, but the execution was ver good.

This is basically a Third Peron shotter mixed with Tower Defense, and our goal is to defend our portal that is inside a castle. Orc Must Die has 24 levels, and everyone level has a different approach, in each level you will fight hundreds orcs.

Now you must be thinking that you are alone on this fight, well no, you will have many traps and magic powers to help you on this journey. On the beginning of each wave you have unlimited time to prepare your set up. Since is the first wave you won't have too many coins but don't worry because on the firsts wave, archers and barrels are the perfect combo.

Graphically speaking this game goes for a sort of cartoonish look that fits fairly well, also the OST does the job equally.

If Orc Must Die has COOP - OMD2 has COOP - would be a much better experience.

After i decreased my backlog a bit i sure want to re-play this game again!

Recommend!

[PC] Monaco: What's Yours is Mine - 8/10

Alone, with your friends or even with random people, this is a game you must play! Monaco was by far one of the best experencias i had this year related to videogames - counitng only to what was relesed this year -. Almost everthing is perfect on this game, from the visuals, OST and the COOP. COOP on this game is the cherry on top of the cake.

Monaco has some diversity missions such as, heist, saving someone or get alive from some place. Also contains 3 game modes; Enhanced, Classic and Zombies. Enhanced is shorter, more streamlined maps and will make a better and easy experience. Classic mode that is purist, hard to say.

Now to class, some to choose and they are all great. Going to give some examples, The Cleaner, he can put enemies to sleep, is really hand when you find a room full of them.
The Mole, funny character to use, he can breaks for almost any room really good to dig shortcut's. I think you got the point that character in Monaco are fun and useful to use.

If you ever get bored of doing COOP and SP you have two options; PVP and creation mode. PVP is here you against another player "fight" to see who stole the intel first and can escape alive. Very fun game type. The creation mode is here you can make your own levels, case you have a nice imagination you may get feature in Monaco weekly/month workshop levels.

Another thing i love in games and i especially love this on in Monaco is the OST, is brilliant, this gentleman Austin Wintory made an awesome job here. The OST is so calm and fits very well in this game. - I advise you hear the full ost on that site -

Now that you read my shout review, go buy this game and enjoy it!

Totally worth your money!

PC Game Dev Tycoon - 7/10

Have you dream making a video game? Have your won gaming company? Organizing events? Going bankrupt? With this simulator you can do that and more. Game Dev Tycoon will grant you some nice hours of gameplay.

There is a large combo variation of genres to make, you can also choose your own platform to make a specific video game to there, and if you can make it, you can make your own console.

Making AAA titles may have a serious impact on the game's performance, you have to choose carefully, when making the game you have 3 bars that you need to set accordingly. When we are make progress we will gain access to hire new staff, use that staff to help you making those games better. Ever person you hire has a "special ability".

Shame that after a couple of hours this gets a bit boring, as soon we know what genres are the most popular game gets fairly easy.

But one of the things i love on this game and i'm sure you will love too, is the comedy! You will find many easter eggs on this game and also the reviews are funny - they will talk so bad if your game sucks -, besides this game has is "own consoles", with nice names.

Game Dev Tycoon will support mods - which is very good - although there aren't too many, you can find some. I haven't had the change to tried them all but one i can suggest is the one you can add more topics.

It's not a bad title, not by long shot but is not a masterpiece either, but on our current market there is no similar game so we stuck this one - in good way - and i'm sure when more mods are released the game will be better. Now let's hope the sequel is much better.

[PS3] Bioshock Infinite: 9.0

Beautiful and nonstop fun/action. I was amazed at how this game could look so completely different from Bioshock, yet feel so similar. Also, I have never seen the Unreal Engine look more beautiful, a lot of love and detail went into this.

Controls were rock solid, the different weapons and vigors always kept things interesting for me. The story and characters were great, too. Loved the Lutece twins!

Overall, it was a little short and just a tad too action-heavy for me. I'm a sucker for a great story, and while it was there, it wasn't always in focus.

360 - COD: Ghosts

Terrible like everyone else has already mentioned. You're essentially paying $60 for multiplayer.

2/10

PS4 - Knack

Everything MacRumorUser said is true. Guilty pleasure, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

7.5/10

PC: Joe Danger 2: The Movie - 5/10

Before getting this game i read some reviews and i was thinking this game would be a blast, this is the type of game that i love to play on my iPhone, but unfortunately i din't get too much. the first two Act was fun but after that keep getting very repetitive.

Two things i liked was the levels design and the OST. Also if you planing playing this on PC, for the love of god, buy some controller first, you won't be able to play this game right with keyboard and mouse.

Not a top priority to recommend to anyone.

[PC] Papo & Yo - 10/10

Can't properly remember the last time i played something that good! Got a little "upset" to see this game didn't get much attention, but i'm glad i played - and i did really enjoy it - and i hope some you will play it too.

Papo & Yo is something between reality and dreams, hope and escapes, is a little story about a boy named Quico that suffered from his abusive, alcoholic father, and on this case the father is the "monster" that follow us. The father is really gentle, kind person, but when drinks get super violent, but on this case when the monster eats frogs - and by frogs we change for alcohol - will get very angry.

About this 'masterpiece', with has a lot of puzzles, not very hard our to easy puzzles, medium puzzles that you can solve in 1/2 min, it also has a very good artistic side, in almost every corner you will see some graffiti with excellent art. Although the favelas are always empty you can "sense" some loneliness but is also here some people are happy.

The OST that follows is great, super calm, fits with the theme. Ths plot will suffer some huge twist, some happy twist and some SAD twist, and if you "connect" with the characters you will get a little sad - like i did - , but in the end is a explanation to all.

With no doubt is a EXCELLENT game, everyone should play it and enjoy the most! Some of you will get some empathy - like me - but the story kind remember some people lives, so make a favor to yourself and play this!

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag - 8.5/10

Definitely a wonderful return to what made the franchise fun, after the dull thud that was Assassin's Creed 3. The characters are fun and interesting, the naval stuff is a blast, the treasure hunting and crafting were simple but engaging. I loved the acting in this one, with James Kidd's VA being my new voice crush (don't worry Jennifer Hale... you're still the sexiest voice in gaming).

With that gushing out of the way, the social stuff (White Whales, Treasures and Fleets) are massively busted in the PS4/XB1 versions. On the PS3 I couldn't take 3 steps without finding one, on the PS4, I beat the game before finding my first. This kind of sucks, especially with UbiSoft creating the side system of ACInitiates.com and having missions requiring finding and sharing social stuff.

The ending was kind of abrupt and jarring as well. It could have worked a bit better, as well as the "modern day" part. I know the person whom you're playing is supposed to be a mystery, but jumping from 3rd person in the past, and first person in the present is kinda disconcerting.

It's definitely as fun as the Ezio trilogy, and has me excited for the future for the games again.

[PC] Don't Starve - 8/10

This game for me was a huge surprise , first impressions was like Tim Burton made this game. The environment is so cartoonist and dark, very nice.

Well like the game name says, 'Don't Starve', this is our main goal, survive, make our own corn field, survive the winter - Winter Is Coming - and fight against some animals.

Days will pass on DS, and are only 3 things that can kill you, hungry monsters or if you get bored. And why i say this? Well, like in any survival game you need to survive, but you need to build things and some times take a long time, and you may have luck or not to find those material fast.

After some in-game days, you can specialize your crafting in one way or another, but the first real-time hour will always be kind of similar. Which means it’s not fun any more after a point, and you’ll start to really dread the endgame, for the wrong reasons.

Another inconvenient could be the world generation, you can get a nice world like a few meters away from you, you find a boomerang and some provisions or you have generated a bad world and you won't find anythng good.

This game also lacks on some details like not having a mini map on Hud and others things, but don't worry to much because there are mods that you can add to the game to make it perfect. Now the biggest things the game should have, Multiplayer! This has been asked so many times and the answer is always no, but i kind understand it because is a survival, and you should survive alone.

I'm pretty happy with this game and although i don't have many hours i expect to play more on future, also huge amen to Klei Entertainment for making such awesome game!

[PC] BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien - 7.5/10

BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is the direct sequel of BIT.TRIP Runner, that i enjoy playing more than the original. This sequel contains more than 100 levels, a lot of costumes to unlock, it also has access to the glorious 'retro' levels, the 8-Bit era! The biggest different between Runner 2 and the original would be the visuals, Runner 2 has very colorful and beautifully levels.

One of the things that most players ask was a middle checkpoint on this game, personally i don't see the point of adding a checkpoint on this game but the devs did make some players wish come true. You know have the chance to go throw, but if you pass the checkpoint you won't get some points, so you have two chances, either pass the checkpoint and be safe next time you miss the floor or don't go throw the checkpoint and gain some extra points.

My only complain would be the motion blur on this game, at least for me causes lot of headaches and dizziness, only if the game had a option to turn it off would be much better.

In case you are looking to something addictive, fun, was to test your skills, well Runner 2 is strongly recommend to you!
