Apparently, that went over everybody’s head, even the editor’s. I’d like get more info on why that was approved specifically in Brazil.Say what? Brazil? Apple has just been ordered to include chargers in the box.
Why shouldn't the consumers get less for what they pay while manufacturers make more in the process on top of it?
Well, why can't companies do that then given that they have an even bigger an impact? Consumers would do even more if they could pass the costs to someone else and come out ahead on top of it.They shouldn't. Consumers getting screwed over by corporations is one thing. Polluting the planet is another. In an ideal world the savings would trickle down.
That said, its sad so many of you cant pull your head out of your wallet enough to see the bigger issue. A huge amount of people already have chargers too.
Cue downvotes I guess.
Companies are greedy. Never said that the decision wasn’t largely made in their self interest, but I’m glad of the decision none the less.Well, why can't companies do that then given that they have an even bigger an impact? Typical cultural thing in Asian corporations, company divisions often don't know what the others are doing and there is a high chance of in-fighting, especially if you have divisions with overlapping responsibilities.seems like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing at Samsung
That's kinda the point.Ugh, was really not wanting this to become a standard - so the future is you have to buy the charger to be able to use the device your purchasing. Earbuds as well?
Another way to transfer some costs to the buyers for the Mfrs.
What other marketing options do they have besides for pointing out Apple's "flaws"? They make an inferior phone, in an inferior ecosystem. All Samsung has are its steady stream of Apple haters.Samsung should just shut up next time. It would look better than being a hypocrite.
It's an interesting view from consumer side of things. Seems like the view of a decision like that being made with the company partaking in the burden of that decision would be better.Companies are greedy. Agreed. It's an interesting view from consumer side of things. Seems like the view of a decision like that being made with the company partaking in the burden of that decision would be better.
Now I understand why there are so many Apple haters on Macrumors. It’s to “gin up” the message boards to get more ad Clicks! Got it, thanks. This site has no problem creating revenue. And good for them, of course.
Expected.. and many other company’s will follow, unfortunately.
Or, less dramatically, continuing to use the 4-port USB charger that you already have and use to charge everything else that doesn't come with a charger.Ugh, was really not wanting this to become a standard - so the future is you have to buy the charger to be able to use the device your purchasing. Earbuds as well?

That’s the thing. All they did was change the cable that’s in the box. They didn’t change any requirements. You can still use your old cable and your old brick. When Apple removed the headphone jack not only did they include headphones that would work with the lightning port but they also included an adapter in addition to it all. Now when Apple changes the cable that's included they completely remove a power adapter from being part of the purchase.
just like your comments on epic vs apple, that didn't age well either 😂Ofcourse! Samsung is copying Apple. Why not right? yet they have the guts to be making fun of Apple. KARMA!!!
How times have change and how it flips.

Samsung makes fun of Apple for removing charger from iPhone - Times of India
The South Korean brand has taken a dig at Apple for not including a charging adapter in the iPhone box.timesofindia.indiatimes.com
Apple rules this world! believe it or not.
Why not remove the iPhone itself, right? Sell an empty box, except for maybe the stickers and the regulatory documentation. Call it the iPhone Air.Since Apple is rolling the dice 🎲 ...
Why not just also remove the box in lieu of bubble wrap?
