Funny, I called SGP today and talked to a gentleman. I have the oleophobic screen protector still brand new in box, but I purchased a few weeks ago. I told him that people were receiving new one with a larger cutout for the front camera and wanted to exchange my (still sealed) product for the new version.

He told me that it doesn't matter if there's a cutout or not and that it wont affect the front camera in any way. I kept being persistent and he said "if you install it and notice any issues, then we can go from there". Kind of a lukewarm response.

Their office is literally 15 mins from me, maybe I should just show up? Hmmm.

My question is if this is worth the 15 dollars. Compared to the bse front is their any real difference? I'm guessing the sgp won't have the orange peel effect but in terms f clarity when the screen is on, is there a noticeable difference? I rather just stay with the bse and save 15 if the difference isn't night and day.

Ipodlover, there's a pretty big difference between the bse and the sgp..the bse is more along the lines of an invisibleshield (though it's smoother and much less orange peel), it has a bit of a rubbery/grippy feel to it and it's not as clear as the sgp..

the sgp is completely clear, and as smooth as glass, what I did was put the bse on the back since it's more protective, and the oleophobic on the front so it doesn't hinder the retina display.

My olephobic sp got a nice sized scratch on it. So I wanted to see what the ex crystal sp looked like. Horrible. The clarity is great. The quality it garbage. Around the earpiece and home button it's already popping up

Wow, so buyer's remorse? Where did you ordered the PS (as in power support) front and back? The shipping on the website is kind of outrageous.

It was only 5 bucks to ship. Thats where I purchased it. The screen protector is ok. I am more so mad at their customer service. But now I notice that the screen collects dusts and has become harder to clean.

I ordered a pack after seeing this post. I really didn't think this would be any different from the Ultra Crystal screen shields, but it is. There is a noticeable difference in fingerprints and IMO I think the quality may actually be better. I can't wait to review them for my YouTube subscribers.

I'll buy that pack from you if you don't like the smaller cutout that covers the front camera. I'd actually prefer that opposed to the big cutout in the newer version.

Ok so I have followed this thread and it convinced me to go with the Ultra Oleophobic. Installed it today without a hitch (cause I read this thread and saw all the issues that could arise I prepared for them all.

I was too cheap to get the back and sides from SGP came out to like $50, so I just got a $5 back pack from Best Skin Ever.

Originally I noticed a scratch on my iphone 4 screen so I quickly bought the Case Mate protectors from AT&T, What a waste for $10 I will be returning them since they don't even stick down all the way.

So far so good, great install after installing the BSE and not realizing it was a wet install, that went bad! so I took the BSE off and created my 'wet' solution and then used the Case Mate squeegee to get air and water out, too bad that squeegee scratched the BSE case to bits.

Well the SGP is great as that squeegee is superb and the screen is without dust underneath and the initial scratch on the iphone 4 screen is totally hidden by the protector.

Well worth the price, (SGP product that is)

Ya I haven't checked in for a while. While the clarity is good, it is now impossible to clean. With my 3GS, PS crystal combo I would use the towel I showered with to clean the screen with before I started the day. That cleaned the screen really well.

This screen protector is really hard to clean and lint, etc loves to cling to it. At first it was nice but I am not happy with it now.

I just ordered the PS front and back set and will be ditching the SGP. I don't like their customer service at all so I will no longer give them my business.

I'm so sad to hear this. I was ready to order it. So what about using pre-moistened tissues? So microfiber cloth doesn't clean well too with this screen protector? :(

I don't find this screen protector attracts any more lint and dust in your pocket than a naked screen.

lol this thread is hilarious

there are people who

a) complain that its difficult to install/cut it off, because they don't have the skill to install

b) Anal people that continue to insist on a front camera cutout

Who cares, the front camera is much lower in quality, and doesn't have a flash, so why are you guys moaning about the cutout ?

ordered oleophobic + ultra crystal clear + leather back

will post my review/comparison between both

agreed. I've installed probably 5-8 screen protectors from different companies and never had a problem. Literally installed this one on my first try. if you use the squeegee and then lift up any dust with tape that is remaining should be a easy

How does the SGP Oleophobic compare to a Wrapsol Ultra?

The difference is night and day. The SGP is crystal clear with absolutely no orange peel. It also feels totally different than Wrapsol - the SGP is much smoother and feels more like the iphone's glass. The Wrapsol is rubbery and has a very noticeable orange peel effect. Go with SGP for your screen - you'll be much happier. Wrapsol is fine for the sides and back if you're looking for "all over" protection but I would not put it on my screen.

Why don't you just use a damp towel to wipe the screen then? Won't that clean it completely? Or you're saying that it won't as well?

Hey guys, how "oleophobic" is the screen protector? I installed this about a week ago, and it was great then because I wouldn't see any oil at all on my screen like I did with the Ultra Crystal series, but now it's starting to look just like that. I gotta wipe the phone now to take the oils off. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the "Oleophobic" Screen Protectors?

Hmm....I thought it was just me. Yeah I think the oleophobic coating wears off quick. It still feels similar to the glass but I see more and more smudges the longer I use the protector.

Just put the Speck PixelSkin HD on today and works fine with the oleophobic protector, I thought it would come up on the corners but it fits perfect.

Glad to be rid of the Incipio NGP case, very bulky compared to the speck!

Good to know. Do you have a protector on the back as well?

After 3 weeks or so of use I'm also finding it difficult (almost impossible) to completely wipe of any finger prints/oil. It just smudges/streaks even when using a microfiber cloth. But I figure that's probably going to happen with any kind of protector other than a matte or anti-fingerprint. Plus I'd rather have the Oleophobic to protect from scratches than go with the bare glass

Are the oleos only available off of the internet like SGPs website, amazon, ebay, etc? or are there any stores that carry them? thanks.
