Hope there's a new 4-inch SE with a headphone jack.

No. There won't be. Apple made it clear the 3.5 Jack is no longer warranted on their iPhones and the Airpods is their future focus with wireless. Apple wouldn't delete the 3.5 Jack off the iPhone 7 and then leave it on the updated SE (When and if it's updated.) That would be completely asinine and contradictory to there beliefs stated during the September 2016 Keynote.

Sounds like this could be the new bezel free iPhone? The 5" size would equivalent the 4.7" iPhone in physical footprint.

I've switched to iPhone Plus in this iteration and even though I'm getting used to the brick I would go back if the would release a 5" bezel free in a heartbeat.

Didn't Apple suffer in the 90s from too many different confusing models?

Yes, I remember the Quadra/Centris/Performa/PowerMac mess.

It seems like Apple is not content with making the laptop waters murky with the MB+MBA/MBP, but further with the iPhones as well.

A lot of Apple's recent moves remind me of the 90's, and not in a good way.

Why did they keep the headphone jack on their new laptops then?

Few years back, nobody wouldn't believe Apple will introduce different phone sizes.
Well, those good times are bygone!

If nothing else a 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5 lineup would be symmetrical.

I've got a 4.7" which I'm happy with but if it came with a higher resolution screen and other features I'd probably be persuaded to get a 5" model instead.

1080p in a 5" form factor would be ideal.

Apple is doomed!

Based on a rumor from a website that was likely made up to get hits, wow are some of you dense.

A question, since Apple is the epitome of evil, they suck, they can't innovate, Tim Cook is the anti-Christ, and your life sucks because you're broke because Apple keeps forcing you to buy their out-dated, proprietary junk... Why are you here? Oh to voice your complaints right? But you own a Pixel, and a Dell, so you're just trolling then. And I gotta laugh at someone complaining about the iphone, who owns a Pixel, isn't there a Google forum for you? I've never registered at an Android forum or a Google forum (does one exist?) just to trash them or complain. I don't own their products, I prefer the iPhone, and I don't have the time (nor am I so immature) that I would waste a precious second of my life doing so. Some of you really need to grow up, and travel the world and get out of your bubbles. It's taking the joy out of this forum, if I wanted to read hundreds of comments from a bunch of angry teenagers I'd spend time in YouTube comment sections.

Maybe this helps inspiring people not to shoot 16:9 videos in portrait mode ... actually, there should be a big, flashing warning sign ⚠️ when doing so. :)

I'm just hoping they find a way to keep a 4" in the line up. I wish we could all go back to having smaller phones and better batteries. I really don't care about the thickness. I'd gladly pay a premium for a 4" iPhone (or even smaller) with double the thickness of a 7, even triple thickness if it meant a real life 24h battery.

Why does having a varied lineup equal a mess, a mess which apparently needs cleaning up??

Giving customers a choice is good business and mitigates the inherent risk in only providing a single option. Would a customer walk away from Apple saying "oh this is simply too much choice, it's a mess, I just can't decide. I had better go and buy an android device"?

BMW certainly seem to do ok with their "fragmented", messy lineup, with all its models, drivetrain and optional extra choices.

The complainers had better not look at one of their brochures, it'd blow their minds...

By "inconsistent nonsense" you mean making Apple boatloads of cash? Man, this forum is filled with the whiniest bunch of people I've ever seen and it just keeps getting worse. iPhone 7 is an incredible device and is selling like hot cakes, Apple Watch is also killing it this year. My 7 Plus is the most incredible device I've ever used, an absolute masterpiece. The doom and gloom that people keep predicting just doesn't materialize.

Can all of you people who threaten to switch just do it already so we don't have to deal with your constant whining on Mac forums?

Steve Ballmer made MS boatloads of cash while he slowly killed it.

Also, I wasn't aware that a sales drop of 71% for the year meant the Apple Watch is 'killing it', but don't let facts get it the way of your shilling

Considering Samsung has god knows how many different model phones and they sell more phones than anybody else (although they do deal in the low end land fill junk, high end and everything in the middle) , why are some saying this reminds them of the 90s Apple? Apple was not shifting 50 million Macs a quarter in the 90s, but Apple are shifting that many iPhones and at high margin, and unlike the early iPhone days many MANY people now have an iPhone and so more models and colours are VERY important so not everyones iPhone looks identical.

The only part they need to get in order is to have the same spec across all the sizes, it annoys me the Plus has features i may want, but i don't want a tablet stuck to my head when making a call. Then just make the choice iPhone Mini, iPhone or iPhone Plus, in Black, White, Gold, Rose Gold or Jet Black.

I think 2017 will be the year Apple does a bit of tidying up, if we have new iPads in March they should hopefully clean that range up a little and the desktop Mac's should be updated.

Running a company like Steve ballmer isn't bad. .
He is squarely to blame for Microsoft's pathetic marketshare both in mobile and tablets.A CEO with a vision like Jobs wouldnt have laughed at the iPhone and iPad .Had he acted in time, there would be no Android.Instead Microsoft would have been the one rolling in the money instead of Google .MS lost a metric ton of profits due to a lack of foresight

Tim Cook really is messing everything up.Now we got 4 thats right FOUR different iPhones all with varying functionality and sizes.Want OLED and wireless,go for the anniversary edition,Want dual lens on an LCD on a phone not a dinner plate?Go for the 5 inch iPhone.Want more RAM than the smaller iPhone but lesser than the anniversary edition but no OLED?Go for the 7S Plus Want a new design?Go for the anniversary edition as the others are just rehashes.I really miss the days when we had a no nonsense SINGULAR flagship

Even Samsung doesnt fragment their lineup like this. Its really looking like Timmy is throwing anything and everything at the wall in desperation to see what sticks and stop the tanking sales. My guess is the OLED iPhone isnt getting enough OLEDs from Samsung as they got their own flagships OLEDs to worry about too.Hence fragment the LCD lineup and make even more money

Complete and utter bull! A phone with a .3" bigger screen... and how would they price this phone huh? This is Apple and they will have to increase or lower the prices in the existing models, I bet they would just increase the Plus size model pricing by 100 pounds or dollars etc..

Nope I say this is utter rubbish.

Maybe because fitting the dual cameras needs a slightly bigger chassis which the 5 inch one provides? This makes sense as those who dont need dual cameras would go for the smaller variant

I feel like my time in the Apple ecosystem is coming to an end. I already barely touch my MBP (from 2010) now and I feel like there's not a whole lot keeping me on iOS anymore...

I don't know when it will be but I feel like I'm a lot closer to the end of that time than I am the middle of it.

Yeah iPhones are becoming kinda stale nowadays . No product from Apple is impressing me as they used to earlier

The entire reason they invented the iPhone Plus and the iPad Pro was to raise the price by $100 though. It's one of the reasons they keep having such high profits

That's tech for you

It's far harder for major improvements each year.

Sadly every rumour that's posted here people think it's certainly going to happen.

I know how you feel. Started to diversify and not all in with their ecosystem anymore. However I will never fully go out. Tim isn't Steve and it shows. Apple needs a new direction and leader.

So......the 7s '5 inch' will no doubt shift to the current 7+ pricing and i'll have to shell out an extra couple hundred for the 5.5 inch to stick with my current size. Apple ***** me lately. It would be nice to see the 5 inch pricing sit in between the current 4.7 and 5.5 pricing but i can't imagine for the life of me it will. Screw you apple.
You're already swearing and saying 'screw you Apple' for a product that hasn't even been released yet and you haven't even confirmed the specs or pricing, how sad.
