Is English your second or third language?

If you expect anyone to take your position more serious, you would be wise to actually learn the language more fully, with all it's contradictory constructs and contextual trappings.

Not sure if you were aware that you made a mistake as well:

"serious" should have been "seriously"

just saying.

Samsung's mad

Samsung is mad because they feel apple products look too much like apple products......which make them look like Samsung copies of apple products

Funny how simply replacing "Apple" with "Android" (and vice versa), and "Samsung" with "Apple" in your statement still make perfect sense.

I've never met an anti-Android person. I've met a lot of people who are pro-Apple but not anti-Android. I have, however, met many anti-Apple people. I've also met some pro-Android people (they tend to be anti-Apple too). I have an Android phone; compared to my iPod Touch, it's pretty bad. I like the phone and the interface but all costs being equal I'd go with iOS any day. Currently I go with Android because I can sign up with a voice/text/data plan that costs 1/3 of what an iPhone (or most Android phone) plan costs.

I think this will hasten the arrival of the iPhone 5. I am willing to bet that Apple dotted its Is and crossed its Ts on the design re Samsung. I am also willing to bet it will contain no Samsung parts

Its a dangerous game - More so for Samsung. The danger for Apple is that they could lose a parts supplier and less suppliers to bargain one against the other, and your margins suffer. Still hard to imagine a scenario where they stop doing business entirely.

Apple needs a new partner or needs to develop in-house specialty manufacturing. When it's "partner" steals its ideas and markets them under their own name, it's just time to move on.

But that's what Samsung does. I have never seen an original product from them. They knock-off the ideas of others, cheaply and badly from ship propulsion systems to laser printers. The whole company is organized around the idea of theft of intellectual property.

Apple will win

Apple usually wins, and Steve Jobs just died. I hope samsung goes bankrupt for causing such terrible problems. Apple may look like the wrong-doer but I do not believe they are when samsung decided to sue apple for stealing they're own ideas.

I bought the original "iPad" a Samsung UMPC running the tablet version of Windows XP for about $1000 several years ago. I had fun with it for about a month. I think they got the design from Microsoft or Intel on their UMPC initiative. I could be wrong on that though. It was a frustrating thing - three hours of battery life at best, despite the cool marketing slogan printed on the box:

"Imagine Digital Freedom"

Google its design its actually very funny looking in comparison to today's designs. I still have it in the closet. Like new.

Thank you, however, the further link from the article you posted explains that the poor performance is with the LCD displays, or to be specific, that department, of which Apple is the largest buyer. The LCD displays are not the companies main source of income, as you alluded too, in fact, far from it. The article you posted explains this quite well in that to hide poor performance it has merged it with a much more profitable department.

:apple: :apple: :apple: I wish Apple to take, still or highjack all patents + the ones the owns .. so they create for us the best of best things ... better then the people with the patents are sleeping over them and don't know how to use them. :apple: :apple: :apple:

Apple's lawyers shrunk down the size of the Samsungs to match the physical dimensions of the Apple's. They presented this in court too.

Apple does not deserve a free pass.

What the other poster was referring to was this article:

Summary:

US Judge held up two actual devices (NOT IMAGES). The Galaxy Tab and iPad. The judge covered the labels and presented the front of the devices (the glass/screen part) to a samsung lawyer. Asking the lawyer "Can you tell me the difference between these two?"

The samsung lawyer, who was about 10 feet away, said "No, your honor".

Judge says "So, which one came first?"

Lawyer: "iPad"

Boom. Owned. :D

The image distortion thing was a minor offense by apple, and they did get a slap on the palm for it in europe. However, this incident was with two working devices, not physical models, etc. It was the real stuff.

Samsung totally deserves this. No one should be able to blatantly copy and get away with it.

You miss the point with your silly hatred. The dimensions are not what is at issue. You can't take someone else's design change the dimensions and say hey it's different, look at the scale. Thats why the judge didn't even take that into consideration. When they are marketing it in print, television or online it's going to look the same. Hey look you can have apples style that you actually want and its software features that they spent years working on, then we give you some extra too.

The Koreans do some nice knockoffs though - That high end $70K sedan Hyundai Equus is pretty nice.

Must agree with you on this point. :apple:

You might want to stop buying Apple products, they use Samsung components

For about another 1-1.5 years. ;)

You know it won't.

Samsung is EVIL.

Samsung is EVIL.
Gnusmas is DEVIL in Korean.

Samsung needs to grow up and create its own unique products. It needs to stop copying others, especially Apple.

As a Korean company, they need to show that they are not 3rd world copiers.

Japanese companies outgrew their propensity to make cheap copies in the 1970s.

Korea is 40 years behind the times.

Get on with it.

This may be two huge companies fighting high cost legal battles, but doesn't anyone else think this is escalating to a childhood squabble?

With the Galaxy Delay ordered from Samsung Top Execs, and Samsung Junior being invited to the Apple Steve Celebration I thought perhaps an attempt was in motion to calm down.

Looks like Tim is just as aggressive as Steve. :apple:

If you expect anyone to take your position more serious, you would be wise to actually learn the language more fully, with all it's contradictory constructs and contextual trappings.

Ironically, that should be "with its contradictory constructs"... not "it's", which means IT IS.

Apple is disputing whether the 3G patent that Samsung holds should fall into a special category that limits whether Smasung can or cannot collect a patent royalty.

FRAND is not about whether they can charge, but how much difference they can charge between various licensees.

Also, by going after one of the biggest manufacturers, who copied Apple's product in multiple ways right down to the Apple trademarked icons,

Samsung didn't directly copy Apple's trademarked icons. More accurately stated, they made a few that look somewhat similar.

I'm saying it isn't a fair comparison because no matter what app you open on the iPhone 4S it'll always have a small delay at the start. Unlike the SG2 which apps just "appear" on.

The difference is that Android app screens don't appear until they're started. iOS first shows a static image to give the appearance of being started.

Even Samsung's own lawyers think they look the same, as proven in court.

ONE lawyer, not all their lawyers. She couldn't tell, but another behind her instantly could. I suspect most of us here could as well. Heck, the home button alone would give away which one was which, much less the different aspect ratio. As someone commented, good thing she's a lawyer, not a gadget geek, because she's terrible at being the latter :)

I wonder if this is her. If so, then she should've been a lot smarter and asked the judge to turn the tablets around to see their backs. Or say that she forgot to bring her glasses.

Judge says "So, which one came first?"
Lawyer: "iPad"
Boom. Owned. :D

That never happened. There's no need to fabricate stories out of thin air.

Samsung Galaxy S2 beats the 4S. Here's a comparison: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp0HlX1ySGg&feature=relmfu

Muahahaha!

You realize all the problems this video has? Just a few:

-The "tester" does not know that the iPhone 4S runs on 800MHz, not 1GHz.
-He states that the Galaxy SII is faster on several occasions where the iPhone animates for a smoother experience and the Galaxy SII just blinks.

Just to recall an earlier post here:

So, please don't argue with bringing amateur videos. If that was a professional tester, he should get his act straight. The fact is that being the producer of the device and the software makes it easy to use 100% of the resources.

Now, now children this is a must as some of you know. Forget all the copy stuff and think of it from a business point of view. If companies don't sue each other they don't really compete do they.

Samsung has great hardware that Apple uses. Like the nice fast samsung SSD in my new Macbook Air. Blows the Toshiba and even OCZ on my Gaming PC, I was impressed, thank you Samsung. What need to happen is that both side stop suing each other by having patents of mutual destruction and they get back to pushing ahead in tech.

Now personally I hate that Samsung sells telephone because they really come out with some great internal hardware but with them also making consumer products my take is they hold back on the sweet secret stuff they have internally. But since that is not going to happen with Samsung then infighting is the norm. Just don't forget all these people sit down and talk shop when we are not looking.

Now, now logic is not going work on Wota. They are way to down the rabbit hole to hear you:D
