16 Hours Battery, this is what everybody needs. Not the fancy charging methods.

Totally agree. Battery technology (capacity and charge times) has never really kept up to speed with technology as a whole. Until it does, charging solutions could be a way around low battery capacities is all Im saying.

The edge is the epitome of a gimmick if I've ever seen one. Notifications? I'm usually not looking at my phone, and it has to be facing you from a certain angle for you to even see the edge, so you may end up having to touch it anyway to move it in which case you can just look at the notification in full size on the screen. Not to mention I have an Apple Watch now, so all my notifications come in the form of haptic taps. Samsung has a smartwatch too, but instead they focus on gimmicky ways to display notifications on the phone.

As for the second commercial, what a limited scenario. I rarely take selfies with 17 people in them. If you're going to advertise a wide range front facing cam (wtf is the point?), at least find a more common scenario where someone would use it. Oh wait, you can't, because yet again it's another GIMMICK.

Samsung, you sir/madam, suck.

Wireless charging is cool though, too bad the vast majority of your customers don't/won't take advantage of it because you don't include the wireless charger.

I always thought Samsung wireless charging was the same as you being able to take the phone around the room and it's still charging. Guess not...
I do enjoy seeing Samsung show its desperation with its thoughtless ads

i think the 2nd video was pretty decent. the wide angle selfie is one of the reasons why I'm considering the Galaxy S6.

Samsung, why cant you just go on about doing your own thing? Like seriously, its getting real silly now! Its not like this ad is gonna make me change my mind. In fact, its gonna make me root for Apple even more.

First the Apple fans cried foul when Samsung was poking fun at Apple users for waiting in long lines. They said Samsung should focus more on a product comparison vs poking fun at end users. Now Samsung has focused on a product comparison and the Apple fans cry foul and say they should focus on their own products.

You are an Apple fan. It doesn't matter what kind of commercials Samsung puts out, you will still be an Apple fan and you will still buy an Apple product over a Samsung one. Samsung does not care how you feel, nor should they, because even if they take your advise, you are an Apple consumer. They are more concerned with people who haven't made up their mind, those people don't take commercials like this personally because they have no emotional attachment to either product. They will buy the phone they feel suits them best and what better way to convince someone who is actually objective about their next purchase, than to highlight your strengths compared to your most direct competition?

Samsung is doing exactly what they should be, and I think you know this to be true which is why it's upsetting you.

I think the Samsung ads were WAY more effective when the Galaxy S models were really technologically superior to the iPhone models of the day. Remember those ads that made fun of the long lines waiting for the next iPhone model that showcased the Galaxy S II and S III? Those ads did a lot to make Samsung a really viable competitor to the iPhone in 2011 and 2012.

Apple was the underdog when they made fun of Microsoft and the PC.

And today... 8 out of 10 smartphones sold are NOT made by Apple. Again... underdog.

But Samsung sells more smartphones than any other company on Earth.

So I guess Samsung is threatened by Apple... Apple must be doing something right.

Apple and Samsung both sell a lot phones but that's beside the point. Like I said before, Apple has bashed the competition before...for all those who keep acting like Samsung is this evil empire, who has to sink to bashing other companies. Apple is not some innocent company, who would never do that. Apple has taken shots at Samsung and Android. Samsung has taken shots at Apple. HTC has taken shots at both. Motorola has also taken shots at Apple. And about a year or so ago, Microsoft released an ad that took a shot at Samsung and Apple (I actually thought it was funny, tbh)

Some on here are saying how Samsung has to sink down to such low levels and bash the competition, and then in that same sentence praise Apple. The same stuff Samsung is doing that's pissing off iFans, Apple has done and in some cases still do.

It really frustrates me that people judge a product by how well it sells. I am a diehard apple fan and am glad the iphone 6 is doing well. With that said wether a samsung phone or an apple phone sells more does not determine which is better. The majority of people that buy phones do not buy on educated reasons, such as which has a better build, design, operating system etc.

The same goes for other products, like the apple watch. People consistently want to know how well it is selling. Who cares? If you like it and it fits your needs or desires what does it matter if they sold 100 or 1,000,000?

Simply put, amount sold does not determine which product is better. Look at Mac vs. Windows.

the samsung phones look nice, and the new features are cool. There is one problem, Android. It is utter garbage and you cannot compare specs on an iphone and specs on an android. why? because the operating system. It is like putting a V8 engine in a corvette or the same V8 engine in a school bus.

Great ads and even though I plan to get an Iphone 6 Plus soon I know that Galaxy phones are incredible. I enjoy the S5 a lot.

Samsung commercials are effective because of two things:

1. People are sheeple and so they know the advertising doesn't have to be good to get idiots to buy stuff, it just needs to be repetitive.

2. Regardless of the amount of advertising, people will buy whatever options are available. And so Samsung will sell phones.

So what.

We live in Idiocracy and Samsung is Brawndo. It can recharge you with wireless electrolytes. Yeah ok.

If Samsung is so bad, why are there 6 pages of fanboys here trying to defend Apple?

Apple users are just as passionate as the Apple themselves. I don't apologise for my passion :) Samsung WOULD KILL to have that level of commitment. You and anyone with half a brain knows it. Im not saying ALL Apple users are passionate, but ones that have been with this company from the get go certainly are. That's well before phones and Samsung came onto the scene.

Irrespective of what you say, market share for Samsung in this category is dropping. Samsung should care about how people feel.

At best, their features are half thought out gimmicks. A certain demographic loves features and bells and whistles like that. Problem is they're changing too :)

The s6 and s6 edge are beautiful devices and in terms of hardware well ahead of iphone. But the s6 has a serious issue with battery life. If I don't leave my s6 edge on power saving mode I wind up charging it twice a day.

I use to enjoy these samsung vs apple ads but not samsung is looking pathetic.

They need to fix the problems with the S6 before critizing others.

"It is full of unnecessary features you will never use. The iPhone... well, it has just what you need"

Like Stocks and Game Centre? It’s a nice ad. Might still not buy it but the ad is nice. A little over the top but Ok. It’s for sure the bettre looking device. The camera thing doesn’t tempt me at all, but Im one of those that always lays my phone screen down so the notification provided by the curve would work.

As long as Samsung feels the need to continually say to consumers "please buy our product that we're showing you here, and not their product that we're showing you here," they'll remain the "also-ran."

This is half of the problem. Not just for Apple and Samsung but for you. You don’t apologise for your passion, seems embarrassing.

You should be getting devices that work for you. Apple only have loyalty to you as long as you’re in their eco system. All manufacturers should be working toward common standards so that I can get the best out of any product whether that be the iP6 or the S6.
