iPhone 6 series was a lemon that should've never been dumped on the public. Video only covers some of the faults such as cheapening out on 1GB DRAM that causes lag and frequent app reloads along with intentional performance throttling to force people to upgrade. What the video doesn't cover are defects like cheapening out on low quality bendable aluminum that led to LCD touch disease defect, etc. If you're an unlucky iPhone 6 series owner you shouldn't be rewarding Apple with another purchase. Apple should do a recall and either refund or upgrade you to a defect free model which would hopefully mean the iPhone XI without the notch.

Get a grip. Hatred will eventually damage your health. My wife and I used iPhone 6’s for three years before moving to the 8 with no such issues and only one battery replacement. Stop reading the Apple hate sites. You’ll feel much better.

Apple deserved it. Be honest with your costumers next time.
So would you be Ok with an Apple ad attacking Samsung Note 7 phones that blew up and hurt users and damaged property?

Since Apple is obviously above this kind of ad campaign, I also believe them when they say they never lied nor intended to deceive their customers about battery throttling. Samsung is not above this so their Note 7 cover up seems even more likely.

They should have shown the Apple guy offering an upgrade to the X for $1,000, shocked user face, upgrade to the same huge-bezel design 8 for $700, disgusted user face, and finally faded to the AMOLED full-screen S9 for $720. Samsung needs to hammer at the extreme luxury pricing of the X and the dated four-generation old design of the 8 in Apple's current lineup.

I understand why this site disparages the Samsung ad; but the reality is that it is clearly, carefully targeted advertising. It's aimed at people who currently own iPhone 6's, who are primed for a new phone. There's not much value in targeting iPhone 8 owners to switch right now.

Sure, but there is no case made to upgrade to Samsung rather than Apple.

It's called Marketing, & AAPL has been the master of it in their space for 10 years.

Now, other companies, like Samsung, are figuring it out.

AAPL is NOT where they are because of Engineering Accomplishments, they are where they are because of their Marketing Spin !

That’s just another take on the “only stupid people buy Apple products” meme. You can do better. Try again.

Smasumg trying to get a different target market? The people that aren't die hard Apple, but will use the device for a longer than 1 year period?

It stings because it's true.

I'm expecting my old iPhone 6 to perform poorly trying to run the latest 3D gaming apps, which didn't exist when my phone was released and require more RAM and processor speed than I have.

It should not lag opening the Wallet, Calendar, or my Email, which haven't changed since the phone was released. (but it does)

Maybe you can direct the next video in the campaign where people intentionally bend their phones and complain about it. Meanwhile, I'll direct the ad featuring Samsung phones exploding and their concerted effort to cover up all of the incidents.

Bringing your direct competitor's product into your advertising, to be used as a pedestal to step upon to raise yourselves up, is weak marketing strategy at the very least, and extremely juvenile.

Agreed. I have yet to see a Samsung phone commercial where they just talk about their own products without mentioning Apple. In addition, why does Samsung think this strategy will work by making fun of Apple customers? These commercials by Samsung disgust me because they are making fun of me, an Apple user, and then they want me to switch to their product? How is that supposed to work?

Samsung, please stop talking about Apple in your commercials. You really don't need to. Just talk about your phones and what they can do. I think you will have a better chance of swaying Apple customers that way.

I can say that for me, I never see myself getting a Samsung phone because of these commercials they insist on. They've only pushed me farther away because of it.

It just feels so desperate. Like, I enjoyed the previous one where the guy was jealous of the samsung owners, but this is trying so hard to be like "look how much better we areeeee than apple." Where as Samsung doesn't even seem to be on Apple's radar in their adverts. Samsung is the middle child who thinks they don't get enough attention.

I agree. It’s like when someone tells a really funny joke and gets people to laugh, then they start cracking nonstop jokes that just get worse and worse and come off as trying too hard.

I like when Samsung or other manufactures poke fun at Apple’s shortcomings. I feel like it reminds them what they need to improve on. But this is just plain hyperbole and as you said, comes off as desperate.

I will say I enjoyed the jab at the battery debacle, but how about showing a bit less iPhones in your Galaxy ads, Samsung?

I would have preferred to stay with an older version of iOS. The phone did everything I wanted to - at great speed.

Why did you decide to upgrade ?

Historically, major IOS updates are slower and have worse battery life on older IOS devices.

For that reason, I have not upgraded from IOS 10 to IOS 11 on my older IOS devices.

.. Where as Samsung doesn't even seem to be on Apple's radar in their adverts. ...
Nailed it. This isn't a new scenario; rather, it's the classic inescapable pitfall: When your product is frequently hailed as the best, you confidently advertise your product to an eager audience. When your product is competing with the best... well, it's just all too tempting to somehow try to get a leg up by trashing the best to a largely entrenched audience, in the hopes of capturing a few defectors. Falling into that trap by releasing this type of ad campaign reveals far more about Samsung's current culture than it does about either product, old or new.

The cheats and the cheated. Did you know that everybody has these tendencies, and we like a good cheater, don't we? "Oh, he really pulled the wool over my eyes, well done."

Yea, $300 is a lot of money, I guess, but it's hardly extreme luxury. And the comparison is not between $700 and $1000. For a typical ownership period, it's more like $1900 and $2200. Still, a $300 difference, but harder to argue one is so much more extreme luxury than the other.

They used a 6 because of the battery slow down issue. It's fair game.
The problem is that there is a class action lawsuit being formed right now. What happens if Apple is cleared on all counts? They win in the courts but lose the public opinion because of fraudulent claims. This ad would be much less skeevy is Samsung waited until there was a verdict.

Samsung wants the iPhone 6 users. Why does the Genius does not offer a free battery replacement?

I wouldn’t be either okay or care since they are companies that take our money and have no other value to me than to sell me a product and make it work the way it should. Don’t forget that about the Note 7 Samsung did a recall of the phone so no more damage would be caused, so if you want to go that way here you go http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ting-iPad-iPhone-cockpit-claim-relatives.html

I had a 6 plus and it served me well for 3 years... I disagree with your assessment totally. But I did eventually upgrade, to the X. And I don't mind the notch LOL.

Deliberately misleading ad. This goes beyond cherry picking features on a comparison of current generation smartphones. I'm no lawyer but I can't imagine Apple won't have a problem with this ad.
