Only Apple gets the "gate" suffix.
Samsung doesn't have the same kind of following.
They will now. Guess which phone is being featured at the Burning Man get together this coming year.

I never liked Samsung since the beginning. I liked every other brand but them. Never thought of that brand as quality.
You really think it's fair to let past business practices influence your opinion about a company and it's management?

Recalling the replacements of the recalled...man that Samsung sure knows how to innovate! At least they can recall better than Apple.

How did the spec war cause the battery problem?
it is close to obvious. Samsung beats apple with spec: fast charging, more battery capacity. Fast charging generates more heat. Together with more compact battery and rushing out to win spec war, it creates a recipie for disaster. they push battery beyond its limit to win "spec war".

That's true but that's an unfair comparison. iPhone is a device for media consumption and socialization. The Note 7 is an innovative C4 substitute. Two different markets, really.
Is it true what I heard........Homeland Security is considering everyone with a Note 7 as a possible terrorist combatant?

Surely they knew about the replacements still exploding or catching fire earlier than this? Theres been reports of the Chinese note 7’s catching fire after the initial release, the replacements apparently use the same batteries as those in China hence why the replacement program wasn't launched there.

Lets hope they thoroughly test their next device!

People in Samsung are stupid after all, they haven't learned a single thing from apple.
If it was apple, there would be no halt in sales, they would simply come out and say
"you charging it wrong" and that would be the end of it, hell maybe they gave a case from non flammable material and that's that. :p

I wonder if the best advice is really to power it down and put in in a drawer. Seems to me you should run down the battery first.
Personally best to store it in toilet. Under water might be safe place.

Why not? They have to can the Note name and most importantly find and fix the cause of the problem. How about S8 Executive Edition?
No don't like that one.....to close to S8 Execution Edition

You have to give them an "A" for effort.
They just added a Samsung twist, they continued to sell the phone during the recall.
Now they have no idea which is which, thus requiring another recall. :p

In short, Samsung should just admit the Galaxy Note 7 has major fundamental design flaws and just scrap the entire project altogether. Start all over again with a new "phablet" phone for next year, and use a new name for the phone, too.

I've no problem with Android. I've a problem with Samsung. It's clear they didn't act appropriate here and I no longer trust what they say or what they make. Internal docs leaked early on showing they cut corners to rush this to market to beat iPhone 7 to store shelves ignoring safety concerns. And when the issue blew up as it were they even then never acted. Very dodgy behaviour from a CE maker. Deplorable and unforgivable.
I hear you man. Screw Samsung, it's stupid Touchwiz, and exploding phones. How embarrassing for those dinks.

A lot of good that does.
t's no longer on the market, in the market or near the market.
It got one of these:

I don't disagree, strictly. The fact that the screen tech exists and is mass market ready is good news. At least to me.

I like the clever use of the movie poster though :)

Don't be salty. Pretty MAJOR oversight, wouldn't you say? Oops.
We can look st this however we want to look at it. But I am personally of the opinion that intentionally going against safety standards versus accidentally doing so are different things.

I also think it's a rather serious accusation to claim that a company intentislonally dismissed safety standards. You either know they did/didn't or you assume. Another two things that are vastly different.

You of course have proof of those leaked docs showing they knew there were safety concerns and rushed the phone to market anyways? Of course you do. Please share.
