Everyone kicking sand on the Samung S9...relax. Don't worry. The iPhone's most wanted feature, the heart of iOS, the one thing everyone buys an iPhone for...animojis, won't be on the Samsung. You can still claim that little gem (embarrassment) as all yours.

No, you're not calling me out, you're disagreeing with the fact of what I said based on Apple's history when it comes to releasing products/features. Fact of the matter is, that's how they do things, it's just your narrative doesn't agree with Apples timeline of what you consider "Better." If you choose to reply, at least staying on point without diverting irrelevant tangents.

Right ...... so when apple takes their time , its to do a feature right .... except when it's not .... well done , all bases covered .

So, Apple the last to wireless , and air power is suppose to be a valid reason? Serious ? Sure you can take it, I think it's poor.

Let's disagree

This is back to their “normal” announcement time. Last year they were likely wary of another Note 7 situation and triple checked the batteries.

With the rumors of them with a working finger print reader embedded in the display recently coming out - and they still have a headphone jack on the s8 if memory serves....they could do very well with the s9. iOS is my daily driver, but I'd choose fingerprint authentication (multiple fingers) over single facial ID any day and embedded in the screen is the dream - I won't go Samsung but good on them if they deliver this stuff.

Would love it if the "cheaper" iPhone all screen next year used the embedded fingerprint scanning - instant buy for me.

Imagine if there had only ever been Windows Phone as competition...

As a former WP owner I have to ask, why? Microsoft still left WP update control in the hands of the vendors and providers (just like Android)...it was a nightmare. Then on top of that, they'd patch serious security holes in desktop windows but not even bother in WP. Saying all this as someone who had 2 Nokia Windows Phones and followed it till its death.

Yawn.

Wake me when Samsung makes something that isn't a steaming pile of dung supported by a marketing blitz that attacks Apple instead of promoting their own products.

Moving on commercial got you really bothered it sounds. The truth hurts and hits close to home.

I had thought a while back swing some Samsung ads that they had quit being a free advertiser for, as you said, Apple products.
Now I see they are back doing the same thing, featuring more of Apple instead of their own phones.

People keep citing the software as Apple's advantage, but each year iOS gets buggier and the differences in features between all platforms (mobile and computers) grows smaller.
Well iOS still have a few perls like ProCreate, etc., but yes the difference is becoming less and less.

Actualky they have bezels which are ugly and not edge to edge. The notch doesn’t bother most people because you still get that edge to edge feeling.
[doublepost=1513377823][/doublepost]
Actually that’s wrong. It’s not even secure enough to use to authorize payments. Try again.
Actually that's wrong. The iPhone X has more bezels than the s8...diffetence will be even more with the s9.

Yes, we know Apple is late as you indicated already twice in your post. But that's how they have always been with releasing certain technology, but I believe that they do it better than other competitors. When Apple releases a feature or product, it tends to have a more unique factor to it, similarly to the AirPods for example.
Let me know how Apple did wireless charging, fast charging and waterproofing better and more unique.

See this big thick black thing around the iPhone x screen? That's not exactly edge to edge then, is it.

And 1989 has a major sigh of relief over it.
Come on, you really don't want a headphone jack? Let's not let fanboyism stop us from admitting what is and isn't real. I have miss my headphones jack, it's pretty annoying looking for a dongle whenever I'm wanting to use good headphones. Bluetooth and Digital Audio through lighting don't need to be Either/OR options to a headphone jack, all three can coexist.

No notch and no protruding rear camera.....
Are you sure about that....?

Of course, only Apple can make a great smart phone. All those millions of people buying Samsung smart phones are just fooled into it by Samsung's superior marketing... um wait, no it can't be that... by the remarkable connection between Samsung mobile devices and their computer line... um no wait, not that either...

hmmmm, well, I just don't know. Apparently all those millions who seem pretty happy with their phones are just wrong and should know better by now. Too bad Samsung's inferior marketing of their "steaming piles of dung" that all will explode at any given moment somehow fool naive consumers into buying them and- dare I say it- liking their purchases anyway. :eek:

And apparently, when they all explode and kill their millions of owners, not only does the national news ignore all those deaths but more millions just step up behind them to buy new Samsung smart phones the very next year.

Amazing! Maybe even 'magical'?
Sarcasm duly noted..... Like all companies, Samsung has their own business strategy, and it seems to be working quite well for them.

You people crack me up. Which phone is “the best” is strictly a matter of opinion based on your own use case. If you’re ripping somebody else for their own opinion on which device is best for them then you’ve got too much free time on your hands and need to get a life ASAP.

other than upgrading cameras and the Dac (which I don't think the iPhone has EVER done) what's left for phones? I'm ready to give Android a proper go, I don't like the direction of the iPhone so I'm ready to give Android a go. Just waiting to compare the S9 to the S8.
[doublepost=1513416769][/doublepost]
I'm perfectly willing to accept the notch and protruding camera in place of two years of updates with bloated software on Android. I'm sure the S9 will be a solid device, but Eventually aesthetics wears off, it comes down to the Software experience in the end.

How many updates has iOS had in the last two months?

You do realize Apple made it's reputation by mercilessly attacking Microsoft? Pot meet kettle?

Where are the angry consumers with Samsung recycling a design for nearly a decade...?

The s8 was a totally new design and a design that blows away anything Apple has done in the last 4 years. I hate Android, but please don't act like Apple has updated the design of their iphone in YEARS. They are FAR behind most Android phones in terms of design.
[doublepost=1513417340][/doublepost]
It’s exactly the same! Where’s the INNOVATION???

Samsung died when their old CEO Steve Chobs died.

The s8 is years ahead in design. There's not much left for them to do. If I didn't hate Android so much I'd have one. As it is iOS 11 is so bad on my 6s that I'm almost ready to finally give Android a proper go.

As long as they’re happy with their phones, all is cool. If they’re not, it’s called buyer’s remorse LOL

Planning to keep 2nd Generation iPhone(if I could get a dirt cheap resale or sale after one year or so) and buy an Android flagship like Note or Pixel. I have iPhone 7 Plus, right now after paying $1200 for 128 GB, kind of looking stale!

In my country Android flagships reflect prices tightly closer to the international rates, also Note 8 ( $125 off) Pixel XL 2($150 off), V30+ etc...are far better value for money.

For example iPhone X 64 GB is $1300(same cash back is available), and more equal iPhone X 256 GB(along with Note 8 which has expandable memory) goes for $1500 (cash back for $125).

My wife abusing Note 5 Duos for the past 2.5 Years, still rock solid....also she is refusing to give up iPhone 6!! Frequent upgrades are totally unnecessary in both Android and iOS world's.

At this point in time comparing hardware and OS for me are no longer relevant. Always in my heart back then that iPhone is a clear winner because of iOS. But Android has come a long way and the integration to their services has become 10 times better. Android hardware manufacturers really don’t have to worry about specs anymore and design, resulting on shifting their focus how their product works better with Android OS. That’s how you keep hearing those top reviewers saying you can’t really go wrong if you choose any of those phones. If there’s a real winner because of preference and or maybe just a point or two. If there’s a competition I want to hear is the pricing. Not the kind of pricing shooting up reaching who has the next 2 grand phone. I know there’s still people who gets fooled by marketing these phones as dslr replacement. That’s probably one reason too why marketing focus on phone camera now. But come on these phone is not a replacement for a camera with a goods lens if you’re looking for quality photos. No amount of automatic software manipulation can replicate such quality. Never!

What is wrong with the adapter? For ME, the lightning/headphone jack adapter isn't an issue. I keep it attached to my headphones (I hate the Apple ear buds) and just plug it in when I need it. iPhone X charges wirelessly for those who don't know.
When one uses one's headphones with other, conventional audio equipment, the adapter needs disconnected. All those connection/disconnections can lead to lost adapters. Not ideal.

So Apple will through at you bad design and charge you ridiculous amount, but you will still buy their product? How will Apple ever listen if you continue to buy? That was a bad response without a thought behind it and some your posts are scripted for likes.
[doublepost=1513426335][/doublepost]
apple is very late to embrace wireless charging . Most of the other features you noted were available on android in one way or another . Apple is late these days with hardware features. 2017 we get olded and wireless ..... ummm that is years behind

That is true. However, Apple perfect it.

Airpod is worst design ever. Everytime I see them on somebody, I feel like throwing up. Do these people ever see themselves in the mirror to see what level of douchebag they look like with those two weird white sticks dangling out of their ears??

User experience is important not what the product looks like. I like my AirPod very much. Thanks.

Not for me.

Samsung apps
Google apps
And if from carrier, their apps

You do realise that these apps can be disabled (if the they are an issue) and they can be completely removed from the homesceen panels.

They do not take much space at all in the 64GB internal memory or affect performance. External memory is ideal for large music/video files and photo/videos so there is never a storage issue with a Samsung phone.

People make far too much of an issue about this.
