The s8 was a totally new design and a design that blows away anything Apple has done in the last 4 years. I hate Android, but please don't act like Apple has updated the design of their iphone in YEARS. They are FAR behind most Android phones in terms of design.

No one is perfect but Apple are head of the rest. Except for iPhone X.

I'm perfectly willing to accept the notch and protruding camera in place of two years of updates with bloated software on Android. I'm sure the S9 will be a solid device, but Eventually aesthetics wears off, it comes down to the Software experience in the end.

The new samsung bloatware special...with more bloatware. Coming soon..lol Oh well, I supposed the unwashed will love it.

Lol, and Apple devices don't have a bloatware problem? I personally have no use for the Tips, Stocks, News, Podcasts, Reminders, Videos, Watch and Find My Friends apps. The unfortunate thing with iOS is that you can't actually delete them, just hide them. Both OSs have their share of bloatware, but that problem is easily solved by deleting the apps as soon as you get your phone and never seeing them again.

Also, iOS 11 isn't exactly a great 'software experience' when you compare it to previous versions and judging by the direction iOS has been heading over the last few versions, it doesn't look too great.

No notch and no protruding rear camera. Already, they're ahead in design.

I do believe they have some great stuff planned. Their ideas may not be the best when applied to their products, but it sure helps to have competition.

There isn’t going to be ANY competition Samsung is going hurt Apple really bad!!

Timeline of announcement and product shipping dates especially this time aroundwill hurt Apple sales. Better and newer devices. Moreover is if BNIB pricing if it’s even in line with the iPhone 8 then the X will horribly suffer. You’ll either see Cook abs Federighi state some crap about the X being better or drop pricing accordingly - posing off those within a 30 day window and Apple marketing to take a HUGE kick in the nads! I actually hope this happens cause it’ll scold Apple for being so greedy!

Next will be the quality of the devices and features - this will heavily affect mindshare.

Finally commercials of features. Please no ridiculous animoji like stuff. Then the X will look more like a child’s toy for adults again affecting mindshare and have people rethink Apple.

Ready to see the stock drop $20US in February after launch day for 30 days

It’s either a notch or a top bezel at least the height of the notch. Personally I prefer to have top bar spaces on either side of the notch so that there’s more space for content.

I concur.
Given. The choice between a bezel + a chin vs a notch. I prefer the notch.

So Apple will through at you bad design and charge you ridiculous amount, but you will still buy their product?

Your ill-sighted projections on what you consider a 'bad' design doesn't correlate to everybody else's view points. And yes, I will continue support Apple. Thanks for your concern.

How will Apple ever listen if you continue to buy?

Why would Apple need to listen if I as a consumer am completely content. I have no reason to contact Apple, it appears you do.

That was a bad response without a thought behind it and some your posts are scripted for likes

Thanks for your opinion. However, your last remark is rather juvenile and is off topic for all discussion purposes. It's frivolous really in nature. Perhaps discussing the topic would suffice Over useless semantics.

And are they removed from the homesceen panels?

No, the apps mentioned are not bloatware, even though YOU don’t find them useful. Bloatware is traditionally the extra programs or apps installed by the vendor or carrier to part you from your money.

It hasn’t worked that way in the past and don’t believe there will be any changes.

I have never found that additional apps added by the phone vendor part me from my money. The OS on a Samsung phone is the phone operating system. If I don't have any use with apps, I don't add them to the homesceen. I always buy some free phones.

Except the iPhone X has a 5.85 inch display not a 5.8 inch.

Still and all apps to provide useful services are not bloatware and most of these should be deletable in iOS.

At this point in time comparing hardware and OS for me are no longer relevant. Always in my heart back then that iPhone is a clear winner because of iOS. But Android has come a long way and the integration to their services has become 10 times better. Android hardware manufacturers really don’t have to worry about specs anymore and design, resulting on shifting their focus how their product works better with Android OS. That’s how you keep hearing those top reviewers saying you can’t really go wrong if you choose any of those phones. If there’s a real winner because of preference and or maybe just a point or two. If there’s a competition I want to hear is the pricing. Not the kind of pricing shooting up reaching who has the next 2 grand phone. I know there’s still people who gets fooled by marketing these phones as dslr replacement. That’s probably one reason too why marketing focus on phone camera now. But come on these phone is not a replacement for a camera with a goods lens if you’re looking for quality photos. No amount of automatic software manipulation can replicate such quality. Never!
Last comparison review I read said they're the same except Apple had iMessage and android had excellent google integration.

Unwanted apps don't need to be deleted when memory space is not an issue, as with Samsung phones. They just need to be disabled and their icons removed from the homesceen. So not a deal breaker.

I asked you a hypothetical question and your response was biased, so no one and I mean no one can take you seriously whatsoever. Employee of the month goes to...haha

I am not concerned. I only wanted to see what your response would be and to be honest, I was not surprised by it - typical biased and scripted response. What a coincidence your buddy liked your post or split personality.

People keep citing the software as Apple's advantage, but each year iOS gets buggier and the differences in features between all platforms (mobile and computers) grows smaller.

Each year Android also get buggier and buggier as well. Features might be the same on all platforms but the overal experience is still vastly different though.

Huh? You can delete most stock apps now. Been like that since iOS 10. I haven’t had the stocks app installed in a long time. Samsung only “disables” it, plus you usually can’t disable the garbage from Verizon and other carriers.

Notch doesn’t bother me and the camera bump disappears in my Apple leather case

Exactly. Imagine if Samsung had done a phone with a notch and a protruding camera, what the comments would be? I can tell you:
Meh...
So Samsung...
Totally disgusting...
...

iPhone users are totally blind, too bad for them. I those bashing Android, they clearly don't know what they are talking about. I used Android 2.x and it was horrible. I tried again with 6.x and it was good. Good. Which means good. Things can change, people at Google are not stupid. Difficult to grasp? Apparently yes.

Which bloated software? You are talking about Android, but you know nothing about it. It was bad, it's now good.

Yawn.

Wake me when Samsung makes something that isn't a steaming pile of dung supported by a marketing blitz that attacks Apple instead of promoting their own products.
Hey, wake up!

Come on, you really don't want a headphone jack? Let's not let fanboyism stop us from admitting what is and isn't real. I have miss my headphones jack, it's pretty annoying looking for a dongle whenever I'm wanting to use good headphones. Bluetooth and Digital Audio through lighting don't need to be Either/OR options to a headphone jack, all three can coexist.
I haven’t used the headphone jack since the iPhone 3GS when I got my first pair of stereo Bluetooth headphones since then I’ve only had to buy 3 pairs of headphones
