No notch and no protruding rear camera. Already, they're ahead in design.
Just put your iPhone in the apple leather case and voila no more protruding rear camera. And by the way from now on you can throw your phone to the ground and nothing shatters. Thanks to the notch there is more screen estate. Its the status bar, thats using the right and left space from it.

All I care about is the AirPods deliver the experience with comfortability and simplicity with excellent battery life. For those who are concerned with what someone else is wearing indicates insecurity to me.
You are right, but i would only buy them, if they were available in black. This heute and silver tip design is too bling bling to me.

I don't mind Samsung products like TVs, appliances, and memory cards. I used to own a small Samsung washer. If it comes to Android smartphones, nope.

For me to reconsider a Samsung Galaxy again, they would need to go back to offering removable batteries. Same with LG. That's their differentiation for me. I could live with a matte plastic rear over a glass one.

Alas, fashion over form. Both South Korean OEMs will probably never go back. Practicality doesn't matter as long as it looks good.

Probably call it

Samsuck will probaby call it the SX or something
You lose all credibility with silly statements like this. How old are you?
[doublepost=1513469758][/doublepost]
Finger print scanner, headphone jack!? Lol I’m sure the people buying these phones want Cassette players in their cars
Not at all some of us are just older than 20. And are used to our way

The kardashians are not the tv equivalent of the deceptively simple cartoonish result that under the covers is a huge technical achievement. One doesn't have to drink the kool-aid to understand this, just stop with the automatic bias.

Automatic bias......oh the irony.

I have used note 8 and it is very nice.

If that notch is still here by the time I am ready to upgrade I will jump ship for sure. Thankfully I never locked myself into either ecosystem.

Can’t wait for Apple to get rid of the charging port. Those are out dated. Everyone will complain, but as always the insdustry will follow

I don't see why people will choose Android over iOS... Lack of the ability of aesthetic appreciation?

Why? What can you benefit from getting rid of the charging port then?

Glaring contrast and artificial colors. Unreliable fingerprint and iris scanner. Defective low battery life.

They must be ahead.

You do know that the Sammy devices has 3 to 4 display profiles that can switch to? If u don't like the colours to pop or over saturation then you can switch to another profile to make the colours look more natural.

Yes, we know Apple is late as you indicated already twice in your post. But that's how they have always been with releasing certain technology, but I believe that they do it better than other competitors. When Apple releases a feature or product, it tends to have a more unique factor to it, similarly to the AirPods for example.

Not exactly true...they market it better maybe? As an example..
Wireless charging is half baked.. slow charging (even after 11.2 or whatever version that was suppose to enable 7.5w charging)..not to mention that you cannot fast charge out of the box and you have to spend extra money to take advantage of a feature.

People keep citing the software as Apple's advantage, but each year iOS gets buggier and the differences in features between all platforms (mobile and computers) grows smaller.
It's also more of a personal preference thing as well. I for one don't like how i can't change the default apps on iOS. It sucks because my att store has iPhone Xs in stock just can't deal with the sacrifices of going iOS until it's ready for me. I used an iPhone 7 for a year great device but it felt like far to many compromises in the software department.

Except the iPhone X has a 5.85 inch display not a 5.8 inch.

But in sure the galaxy has more screen real estate.
[doublepost=1513495245][/doublepost]
Play a full screen video or game and get back to me...
So true...I use both X and note 8. I do not like using the X for watching media or even viewing pics..I prefer the note 8 for that.

Such a sane, rational perspective for these forums.
[doublepost=1513449323][/doublepost]
You’re missing the point of Apple’s software advantage. It’s not just software features, it’s software useability. Why are there way more iPhone photos on Flickr than Galaxy photos? Is it because there are way more iPhones out there than Galaxys? Nope. When they do studies about how average people in the real world actually use their devices, iPhone users typically use way more features and derive much greater functionality from their devices than Samsung/Android users do. Fancy features are nice. Usable features are better. And Apple still has an advantage there.

(Btw, I am definitely frustrated by the bugginess of iOS 11. It’s below Apple’s standards and not OK. They need to tamp that **** down, fast! But let us not fool ourselves into thinking that Galaxy phones don’t have a myriad of bugs and weird software glitches themselves. They just don’t become national news.)

Because their isn’t a cottage industry built around poking holes in OnePlus’s products.

“Probably more secure too”? You are literally making up nonsense.

You could also list 100 things that Samsung adds from iPhones.

Also, get hip, daddy-o. Jailbreaking hasn’t really been a “thing” for a while now.
[doublepost=1513450407][/doublepost]
“In one way or another”. I see what you did there. Just not all available one one phone, right?

Try again.
[doublepost=1513451080][/doublepost]
Yep. Samsung is catching up on True Tone Displays, FaceID, 3D Touch, dual cameras with telephoto lenses and Portrait Mode, optical image stabilization, Stereo Speakers... the list goes on and on.

When you see things from only one perspective, you miss the big picture. Many tech companies create cool features that others wind up copying. Apple just does it more often, and often in more significant ways, than other companies. And they have been since their inception. It’s in their DNA. But it doesn’t mean that other companies to do some cool stuff as well.

You do know the LG had dual cameras before apple? And this so called portrait mode was on galaxy devices before..it was called selective focus.

I am not an apple or Google hater as I enjoy both platforms.
[doublepost=1513496120][/doublepost]
The overall OS experience is far better than Android

You would have been right about this year's ago...today? Not so much. Android has gotten better with every release..iOShas been suffering from lag etc since iOS 7. But still love both platforms... There is good on both sides.

Android as OS is sh*t and iOS is superior...until you use flagship android phone. I seriously believe android is much smother than iOS. You may need to tweak or root though...

Wireless charging works the same way as does wifi and bluetooth. Except that apples upcoming wireless charging pad knows the charge capacity of all devices on it. So yes apple is late, but they have a twist on it.

I don't see apple losing ground, maybe you do but we'll see about their financials to see how much they actually did lose.

Financials does not equal good UX design. The financial aruement is pointless , based on that Microsoft were doing a cracking job while releasing some awful software at the time. You are missing my point .

Dude, please stop.

That was insightful

True Tone is poor on the x
Faceid - let’s see how this plays out
3D Touch - gimmick
Dual cameras - wake up, Apple cameras are on par with the competition
Stereo speakers - really ? This is important to you in a phone ....

What’s the rest of the list...?

Fact is Apple was ahead by a massive margin, 2017 it’s on par in some places, ahead in a few, And behind in others.

So, since you felt the need to share your knowledge, tell me what is special about wireless charging in late 2017? As this was the debate I was having with others? Let me guess the amazing AirPower mat that is not even reality yet and you will hand over about $150 where android guys pay $20. Fact is Apple should have come up with true wireless charging....nope they are last to the feature..... same implementation. How is that not copying the markert?

I’m sure Apple is really worried.

So don’t buy it? Head over to the Android forums if you prefer that platform. I think Android is cheap knockoff junk, but I know there is a market for that and it doesn’t bother me. There is something for everyone.

Thanks for the pointless insight . This is not about buying . Feel free to debate with someone else about quality of android and thier next purchase .

Well you’ve offered no insight yourself, just pointless bashing. Everything you’ve said is subjective opinion and not some universally accepted fact. So in my opinion Android is junk and it’s just as true as you believing the same of Apple.

You came to conclusion I said Apple is junk ? Look ..... you have completely missed the point of the discussion.

Either re-read my statements , try to comprehend them, and have a debate, but don’t make things up . Apple is not junk - and quality is not even part of my opinion.

And 1989 has a major sigh of relief over it.

Yeah, you got me there, I am firmly stuck in the past - headphones in my headphone jack, fossil fuel in my car, mechanical watch, writing with a fountain pen, still wearing jeans and leather shoes. I just can't keep up with the times, and I can't even begin to imagine what innovative solutions modern people must be using! I mean, here I am, eating my food with knife and fork like in the iron age, hammering my nails with a hammer, washing my clothes in a washing machine (plugged into a power outlet!), protecting my eyes with sunglasses, using aspirin, and so on and so on. These old-school things may seem proven and adequate to me, but they must sound ridiculous to someone who has embraced modern technology. What marvels they must know!

When you have a personal connection with an object. You will defend it without hesitation or logical thought. Weird how that works.

Not even embraced, people are waiting to be told....

I do all the time.
I prefer the x display with the notch over the iPhone 8 Plus, only thing I’m missing is the size of the 8 plus, got used to it.

Waticng video on the x is pretty immersive due to the recessed bezels, the speakers are much better than anything Samsung has to offer.
