I had not heard that a Note 7 killed someone could you please link and cite the story about a person being killed by a Note 7?
Some people are hard trying to finding excuses to defend Apple's ancient over priced tech, lol. It's funny! I hope Apple stock and earnings will take a big hit. Apple surely needs something to awake from its 4 year sleep.

Had Apple introduced this phone, at this price point, with that randomly positioned fingerprint scanner and absurd screen form factor, the same people who are praising it would be out with pitchforks asking for Tim Cook's head and Chtulhu doom on Cupertino.

And the same people attacking the S8 would be ranting and raving about how "magical" and innovative the new Apple device was...

I found it all very underwhelming, pretty - but underwhelming.

I'm slightly confused why they decided to put fingerprint, iris and facial recognition. Surely you stick with the one that works the best and is most secure. But then again, samsung do have a "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" philosophy...

Now if only it was running iOS.

I will scream if Apple releases yet another "new" device with those bezels. The iPhone is starting to look like an ancient "tube tv" among all those thin and bezel-less smartphones

As expected, the S8 comes in two sizes with a curved edge-to-edge 5.8-inch or 6.2-inch QHD AMOLED display. The always-on screen has a 2960x1440 resolution within a minimal bezel design that pushes the home button with fingerprint recognition to the rear of the device, alongside the camera.

How is the home button on the back of the device working out for those that have phones with a home button on the back? It seems to me (as someone who has never used a phone that has a fingerprint sensor/home button on the back of the device) that it would take some getting used to. I guess it's probably muscle memory as much as anything else, though.

Apple, what we don't need is a pressure sensitive display—why would you want pressure sensitivity on a touch-based UI? In real life you rarely exert pressure on buttons and mechanisms. 3D Touch is not innovative. Bezel-free design is. I see iPhone users every day who are frustrated at having to stare at two huge bezels. Fingerprint scanner moved to the back is a very smart and more ergonomic innovative idea. Much better than iPhone's dumb front-facing Touch ID-intergrated Home button.

Samsung's Korean-based team once again destroys Apple's multicultural design group.

I don't think you can delete them. I think you can "disable" them so they are always hanging around.

Disabling them turns them off and removes them from the app drawer so they are not visible. You can still go in and enable them but for all intents and purposes they are "gone".

I probably will be the next Apple iPhone even if it just has a faster CPU and better camera. I am stuck in the eco system and will continue to purchase tech that was dreamed up by people like Tim Cook and his cost cutting ideas for Apple.
What eco-system are you talking about? The competition is far ahead of Apple on every front, have better services and are similar or cheaper priced. They also have tools to migrate ;)

2. Curve display gives you a larger display with smaller footprint. The base model has a bigger display than the iPhone 7 Plus and is much smaller.

Are you concerned with the image distortion from the curved display? For me, it's too curved, wrecking the image/video/desktop.

I'm not impressed. No innovation, same Samsung bloat as always, yawn. I think it looks cheap and ugly too.
No innovation? Bixby looks to be able to do so much more than Siri. Camera integration, system awareness, dedicated hardware button, and instead of a dumb, "sorry, I can't do that," Bixby will actually learn how to do what you're asking of it.

Iris scanner and facial recognition will not only unlock your phone but also enable you to sign into secure webpages and utilize the superior Samsung Pay.

The Dex dock looks to be amazing and powerful in its own right.

Wireless charging is super convenient and with the S8 phones, it's been improved upon to not only be faster, but also less picky about how you set your device on the pad.

USB Type-C is the next wave of cables that aren't proprietary like the Lightning cable that only Apple uses.

Gear VR and the 360 camera are amazing and you can even upload videos with the camera into Facebook for others to view from either the headset or without.

And how can you say it looks cheap? This is a beautifully designed piece of hardware that is nearly all screen on front and no camera bump on the back.

I can understand you being an iPhone lover, but you can't ignore the features and design of the new Galaxy line.

I really hate Samsungs modified Android OS but totally love what it have done with the recent versions of Galaxy phones. As much as I hate to use anything other then iOS, quite tempted to give it a try. Had a bad experience with 2 different Galaxy models on the past, but this one is one gorgeous looking phone.

It's a very nice looking phone and my little sister is going to be very happy. She murders her phones, so she gets the new Galaxy every year.

It's not really for me since I really don't care for Android, but the one part that really interests me is the 5G modem. I don't really plan on replacing my 6S anytime soon, but I'm really looking forward to gigabit LTE.

Seriously Apple...you have go to step up your game. Hardware wise, this sounds really good with the exception of a rear fingerprint sensor. It's harder and harder to argue for the iPhone over the Galaxy (and if reviews are believed the Pixel).

However...the iPhone still provides an overall superior experience, especially if you are at all using the Apple ecosystem.

7s plus with 64gb will probably sell for the same price as the 7 plus 32 gb. Currently at $769.

Makes sense. I could even see them going a bit cheaper considering the 7s model will likely look the same as the last few years. I was really hoping Apple could one day get to a standardization across the iPhone lineup. Same features, different size screens and capacity.
