"Compared to the Moto 360, the Gear S3 is 13% thicker, 6.5% taller, 16% heavier, has a 30% smaller screen, and has 89% larger bezels. But who's counting."
In real life I get 3 days out of my s2, whether or not this is unique I don't know, but I think it's awesome..As I said in previous post, I wouldn't get my hopes high for the battery life. I really liked the Gear S3, but what I've read about the S2, which was said to last for 2-3 days, let me down. According to many reviewers, battery life was similar to the Apple Watch. Then, the S3 must be a little better, but not by a high margin. The Apple Watch 2 must equal the battery life if the rumors are true.
But let's see how the S3 works in real life.
I was talking about the Apple Watch.Yeah but you still have to take them off and replace them, having to fiddle with the pins and such. A smartwatch is supposed to be on the cutting edge of technology, and the S3 is, except for the strap system. Just a minor gripe though, really just wishing.
You can only go by the claims the company makes. Just as people do with the Apple Watch. So you've used it? Sorry I don't buy battery claims from a press release. Give me real world usage. According to the Verge the Gear S2 got a day. Now this with GPS and LTE and always on full color display is going to get 4. I'll believe it when I see it.
I'm wondering, the ribbed ring around the dial, does it do anything or is it just there to make the watch more butch?
I'm not a fan of black blank squares on my wrist either and that's what the Apple watch is most of the time.
It's a really nice looking watch, why do you think it's ugly?
You must be blind
Marketing. The "official" measurements are for the case only. It doesn't include the measurements for the top glass or the sensors on the bottom. The true actual measurements are provided for developers of accessories like bands, protective cases, etc. They can't work off marketing measurements. How do the differences between the official and the "actual" measurements come about?
Since the ring is a control mechanism, the ribbing helps with grip; making it easier to operate than a smooth surface.I'm wondering, the ribbed ring around the dial, does it do anything or is it just there to make the watch more butch?
Cool. I still don't like round though. Except maybe to get that awesome steampunk cosplay chick to notice me.Marketing. The "official" measurements are for the case only. To each his own. I have no use for smartwatches as a category, but this watch - especially the Frontier - appeals to my leaning toward chronographs. If I ever get on the smartwatch bandwagon, this watch could be the start. It looks masculine, my preferred style. Don't like the style of any of the unisex looking offerings out there today.Cool. I still don't like round though. Except maybe to get that awesome steampunk cosplay chick to notice me.
Also, I don't expect HoursTracker and Streaks (to name just two I use daily) to go Tizen anytime soon, or ever really.
I own an Apple watch and lol no it's not fine art. Don't get me wrong the Apple watch looks nice but I guess I prefer the traditional round design of a watch and this Samsung watch looks amazing.
Also good and encouraging news to hear. I don't know anything about the Samsung Gear, but after seeing the video, aesthetically speaking, I like what I see and am interested in it.Update: According to a Samsung representative that spoke to SamMobile, the Gear S3 will work with the iPhone, likely via the Gear mobile app that's in development for iOS devices.
I never found conventional watch designs to be anything but ugly, and Samsung seems to be a doing a good job at approximating something that I have always found to be an eyesore.

Actually those had hundreds of buttons, like a tiny Blackberry.I had less than zero interest in the AW. But I'm VERY interested in the Gear 3. Seems like it would be a great running watch to replace my Garmin. And it's stylish enough to replace my casual watches.
As others have said, the AW looks like an 80s calculator watch.
I must admit, it's a nice looking Seiko classic watch. Kudos for Samsung copying someone other than Apple.
mmmm looks awesome, but probably not going to be able to answer a call if you have and iphone and probably many iOS feature will be out, also for celular LTE you are going to need another cellular plan LOL.
still always on screen rules! 4 day of battery really nice UI too
